Great update Sasha! The selective color tool and combine images mimics the Photoshop tools very similarly nice for folks that want to stay all in one program.
Thanks for the video. I have been testing new tools for some time now
Thank you, Sasha! These scripts look very useful, and I’m looking forward to trying them. As you indicate, these could be further steps toward simplifying the entire process.
What a great set of tools, Sascha! Thanks so much for describing them and many thanks to Jürgen for developing such an amazing set of utilities for PixInsight.
Wow for intermediate users like me videos like this are like gold dust, I have saved it in my process videos and really quite excited about trying some of these up Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks Sasha! It's easy for me to get in a rut and stick with a specific work flow. I need someone like you to prompt me to try better methods!
Excellent video !! Always did selective colour in photoshop before but will definitely try this along with the image combination tool.
You have come a long way, Thank you for your great contribution to AP.
Another great video. My OSC images need a linear fit before GHS, which I sometimes get with SPCC. But I am now debating Auto LinearFit vs STF+HST. I find linear fit reduces bright areas in nebulosity, but of course STF adds stretching that I want to do in GHS.
Your videos are incredible! Thanks alot for all the very informative videos and tutorials!
What a great TOOL and what a great video! Already during the clip I pressed the subscribe button. Great information and straight forward presented! I am looking for the others of your clips! Thank you!
I always wondered when they would put some of the photoshop tool in pixinsight. Great video
These scripts can be a further game changer, already testing them, thanks Sasha
Great surprise.. just updated… and it works thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you, Sascha, first time I see that my SHO picture looks like it should look. :)
I found this repository a while back, some amazing tools there
Love these tool enhancements - very well done !
These will definitely be replacing the other tools in my workflow
Great subject thank you !!!
Subscribed !
I love the scripts, they seems to me like a modding stuff for astrofanatics, introducing new dark possibilities!😆
thanks for sharing those information. So cool !!!
New suscriber !
Awesome video Sasha. I'm joining your Patreon Team. How do I install the Toolbox script?
The repository link is: www.ideviceapps.de/PixInsight/Utilities (copy/paste it in PixInsight: Resources -> Updates -> Manage Repositories -> Add
Thanks Sasha! Very useful info.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot 🙏🏻
Thank you, love the scrips 🚀🚀
Pretty awesome toolbox!!
thank you! Is there a difference between "screenstar" script to recombine versus this method?
From the screening method no - but that you can select how much of each pic you want to combine is different
Thanks. This is the missing link to finally abandon Photoshop if you're a Pixinsight user.
Thanks I will try these instead of Gimp which can also do this. Is there a way to apply a dither as part of background extraction like you can achieve in Siril- I find that without this ABE/DBE can leave artefacts and even Graxpert is not quite as good as Siril?
Then stay for gradient removal with Siril until PixInsight releases MARS - that might do the trick..... The great thing is that we have so many options and so lets chose what works best for us!
Wow!! Just wow amazing
First, Thank you for your time and wonderful videos. Second the Toolbox link no longer works in Pixinsight and when I try to get the repository link I get a 404 Not Found error. Any insights? Thanks.
What means "when I try to get the repository link I get a 404 Not Found error" - can you describe exactly what you are doing?
Sascha, I’ve just watched this video again, and I noticed at the 9:00 minute mark that you toggled between two images where one was overlaid exactly on the other. How did you do this toggling? I know you work on a Mac, and so do I. And I’ve had Pixinsight for one full year now, but I haven’t been able to do this kind of toggling. I should mention that my Mac’s keyboard doesn’t have the page up and page down keys (it is the small keyboard that comes with the Mac). There is probably something very simple that I’m missing, so I hope you can help me solve this mystery.
Yes, there is something very simple - just shell out USD 400 for a Loupedeck CT and your issue is solved 🤣 Seriously, I had the same issue like you and even knowing the keyboard combination I could also not accomplish it on my keyboard (same as yours). So as I anyway had the Loupedeck, I added the keyboard combination there and that worked.
Thank you Sascha. Looks like I'll have to just get by without the ability to do this--unless someday they add it for current versions of the Mac keyboard. But I'm very grateful for what you said in your reply because now I'll stop trying to figure out how to do it! @@viewintospace
Danke!!!!!
Thanks very nice piece pf information! However the Toolbox disappeared from my menu few days after Installed GrapXpert. I have no idea how to get it back 😢
Just go to: PixInsight -> Resources -> Updates -> Manage Repositories and delete the link. Then Check from updates and restart PixInsight. Then reinsert the link and Check for updates again. The restart again and hopefully it is there again.
@@viewintospace tried but it didn't work, it was available for a few hours but at the next restart it disappears - strange behavior ^^
Hi, I don't know quite what is going wrong but I keep getting an error 404 when I try to install on Pix, can anyone help please.
🧐
Do you get an 404 in the browser? Because that would be normal. You have to enter the Link in PixInsight under Manage Repositories as with any script.
Bonjour, le lien pour télécharger les outils n'est pas valide, peux tu en mettre un valide, Merci.
Yes, that is normal. Just copy the full URL in the browser, then go to PixInsight -> Resources -> Updates -> Manage Repositories and Add this link. Then go in Updates to "Check for Updates" and it will find it. Exit PixInsight and it will install the script package.
Not sure when you put this repository link up but it's broken and has been for weeks. Comes back with a 404 error can't be found on server.

I don't have the Toolbox ! Where is it?
Look at the repository link in the description and install it like any other script. Then you will find a new menu point under Scripts called Toolbox
Great information here. When I click on the Repository link it appears to be broken.

I used gimp for this but will try the scripts. Do you know a way to dither to background correction like you can in siril? I find ABE and DBE can leave artefacts and also Graxpert not quite as good as in Siril?
This link does not work...😐
