I would love to see a drawing demo with a limited pallet of primary colours, It would be very helpful to see you doing the mixes in an actual drawing in real time. Love your work! Keep it up!
That's a very nice video, Prerna. The subject of mixing new colours using coloured pencils interests me very much, and I'd like to find more such 'recipes', so that after a while I confidently mix my own. Is there a book or some other source with such recipes you can think of?
Thank you so much! I can’t think of a book especially for color mixing in colored pencils but the topic is covered by Ann swan in her book and I think she also has a video on her channel
I didn’t even know you could mix coloured pencils!! Thank you so, so much for the tutorial. As a suggestion, I think you could talk a little bit more on the layering order. Because it seemed like the colour you choose to the first and the last layer matters, but I couldn’t really tell why exactly... Am I right?
That's right, the first color you lay down is the one to likely show through the mix most. So, if we want a green with more yellow to it, start with yellow and then add light layers of blue. For a darker green, simply start with the blue. Thank you so much for watching! I'll try to add a bit about the layering sequence in the next video!
Thank you for explaining so clearly Prerna ❤️ I have one question regarding solvent technique. Which kind of solvent is used? And can we add more color after using solvent to blend? Thank you in advance☺️
Hi Monika! I missed your comment, I’m sorry. Yes, you can certainly add several layers more of color after using solvent. I’m using Sennelier odourless mineral spirits
