For the past 6 years, the Roadie team has been working on perfecting our vibration detection technology. As we developed Roadie 2, Roadie Bass and Roadie 3, we asked ourselves, “what can we learn by leaving our sensor on the instrument while playing rather than just while tuning?”. The answer was an absolute deluge of new data points and from this, the idea for Roadie Coach was born. Coach is capable, beautiful, and simple and we can’t wait to show you what we are building.

SO WHAT IS ROADIE COACH?
Coach is a music tutor, recorder and midi controller that attaches to your instrument and makes it smarter! It’s the first tool of its kind thanks to its contact mic, standard mic, wifi, bluetooth and two touch surfaces. Coach attaches to your instrument and makes it smarter! It acts as a:
Music Tutor: Coach teaches you to play and sing full songs from scratch. Get dynamic and instant feedback on your progress.
Smart Recorder: Easily record all your performances in high quality. Coach helps you organize all your play and practice sessions to easily access your files.
MIDI Controller: Program the touch surfaces and buttons to send bluetooth Midi commands to your DAW or audio app. Control whatever tool or parameter your creativity demands.
HOW DOES COACH KNOW HOW TO HELP?
Coach uses note and lyrical information from a song you are learning to compare your performance against the original piece. This provides a robust and high quality data pool and ensures Coach is truly giving you feedback that will lead you towards mastery. It’s an activity tracker (like Fitbit) for your musical journey that helps keep you motivated and driven by data.
WHAT INSTRUMENTS DOES COACH WORK WITH?
Coach can assist with acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele and singing at almost any level. There is no existing talent or knowledge needed to get started with Coach. While seasoned players will love perfecting tracks they have been playing for a while, even the greenest of greenhorns among us will find the process of picking up, tuning, and playing an instrument for the first time much less intimidating with Roadie Coach by their side.
HOW DOES THE COACH SOLUTION WORK?
Coach is an especially effective tool because of the hardware / app combination.
The Hardware - Makes gathering quality data and recording your progress a breeze. No more echo filled phone recordings, practice anywhere your heart desires and feel free to sing along.
The App - Never feel lost on your educational journey. The Coach app makes sure you always have your notes on what to work on next. Easily share your progress, choose new songs to play or dig deep into your practice history. Receive feedback on your playing in minutes rather than days and as we know, rapid insight is key to rapid progression.
To get started, attach Roadie Coach to your instrument of choice. Soft pads give it a good grip while also protecting your instrument from damage. Use the Coach app to follow along with the chords and strum patterns while you work towards perfecting your performance. As you play, built-in mics record and analyse everything so you can get instant feedback on your performance. Coach will give you pointers and show you places where you can use some extra focus. Use these pointers and feedback to play your song at your own speed until you have completed each level of mastery.

For over a year now, we have been testing Coach’s learning approach and we can definitively say it WORKS! With quick access to personalized feedback, easy-to-follow visuals, and a step-by-step learning approach, you will have a clear learning path forward.

Different Speeds
Each song in our library can be learned at a slower speed first in order to get comfortable until you are able to play the song closer to normal speed. Work at your own pace and have fun playing in your comfort zone.
Chords & Tabs
Coach will show you how to read both chords and tabs and how to position your fingers. Chords are normally used for accompaniment and tabs are for melodies and solos. On the Coach platform, we teach you both. (Insert image showing the chords and the tabs)
Transpose Songs
Easily transpose a song from one key to another so it is more comfortable for you to play or sing, or simply because you think it sounds interesting.
Backing Track
Every song in the Coach library has a backing track you can play along with in order to give you a more immersive experience when practicing. Super helpful for rhythm training and much more fun.
