Hi George I always postpone watching your videos until I have quiet time to savor all the visuals and information. Your narrative style and personal notes give your presentations depth and value. Keep going. ❤️
Wow, thank you! I appreciate your kind words and expect to keep doing this awhile. I'm glad there's value to my viewers, I really want to entertain and educate
Thank you for taking us with you. I love seeing all of the patriotic items. I collect patriotic items but do not have anything as cool as that Uncle Sam outfit. One time when I was a kid I dressed up as Uncle Sam for Halloween.
Soon soon I think I'll be able to join..just so grateful to have you and your videos..the caring about the history and treasures and armchair travel of fantastic regions..all the different ways people do this hobby and business and way you do it so wonderful....been an uptight time and it is such a wonderful thing and all the backlog of these I can watch....this gets me to old and new options and eclectic and just going through your grandma's closets feelings and a mix of joy..excitement and relax at same time..not pressure feeling of oh can't get that now and seeing there is always more and just the ups and downs..and things I love are not as big now and just the joy of it all. Thanks for being you and doing this...I just know I am going to find the huge grandma scarf I want sometime..stuff like that.. Loved the Donald duck..my dad and his only sibling had old cartoons that I think were slides mostly that you moved fast but the machine got hot quick they laughed until they cried as adults when we were junior high and grade school looking at them..Donald Duck was a main one. Dad is 87 ans Uncle is 77. I love Mesh too.
Great presentation George! Can't wait until you get back to Florida! Can't wait to see you with all the insane history you store in your brain! How blessed you are!!!🕊
Hold up wait I love antiques I live and die for them you said something about Seattle and I'm in Washington if you have a little shop there id love to visit or an online shop 😁
My mom had a Studebarker Lark 1958--1960? ish. It was red and looked just like the model you showed. My older sister ended up rolling it, but managed to come out of it with only some bent hair rollers, LOL.
Funny, I always thought something printed on a poster that was 57/317, meant the 57th print out of a total of 317 printed, so, for example, if you purchased the very first one, the 1/317, you had the most valuable one.
Am currently binge-watching all of your videos. I feel like I’m becoming more educated with each one I sit through. Thank you so very much for taking the time to bring me along on these wonderful tours of shops!
Thank you for another fun and informative video. It's so interesting to see what items are available, or more common, in the various regions of your travels.
I agree! Part of the reason I'm "The Antique Nomad" is that different things are available and different things sell better or worse in different areas
Finally had the time to sit and watch this, George. Once again, you pick interesting pieces to share with us. I hope you enjoyed Michigan. We love the Glen Arbor area and Traverse City.
Let’s hope this new generation of “resellers” coming out on RUclips will assume this position as the new antique dealers of tomorrow... I call myself vintage and antique (glass and ceramic) dealer. I’m very niche. But I will make an exception to some textiles, tapestry and MCM lights... it is a pleasure to watch you George.
I really enjoy your videos. It's informative, funny and there's a real sense of calmness from your voice that makes it very enjoyable. Unlike the other youtuber that yells constantly up on stage of her shows. Can't wait for the next video....Thanks! 💜
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them, we all have our own styles but I like getting to share all the cool things I see on my adventures and I'm glad they appeal to you!
What a fabulous show, I will anxiously wait for the second part. I'm amazed at the amount of booths. I would love to go to one of these shows. Thank you for allowing us to accompany you. 🌻🌼🌿
George, I throughly enjoyed this week’s video. It’s fascinating to see the array of things that are on show. As a Brit, the Labour poster reminded me of things my grandparents kept. Have a fabulous week xx
Many thanks! I'm glad you recognized the English poster, I think it dated to 1940 if my research was right. There was a big change in attitudes about social assistance there after the Depression.
I've heard people talk about you and your channel and I finally got around to checking you out. I'm so glad I did!! You are extremely knowledgeable and I have so much to learn from you. Thank you for this amazing video!
Wow! You are so full of knowledge on so many different things! I'd love to follow you around at one of these shows in person. Thanks for bringing us along.
Hiya George, thank you for the tour, so many beautiful things! It’s hard dating wicker due to its 70s revival, those were stunning pieces! I’ve got a few, one I got at a “junk” shop I really think is Victorian but was updated in the 70s, afraid to try & restore- otoh want it out, no room anymore! Loved the arts & crafts lamp so pretty, as was too much to mention! I hope we see your booth in the next video! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
Thanks! I agree about wicker, it can be hard to date but the pieces in this video were more substantial than newer ones I've seen. I did show my booth in the "part II" video tonight, hope you enjoy it!
You are very knowledgeable and interesting. I find your voice very relaxing, both good and bad, I almost fell asleep a few times. LOL. Thanks for the great video!
Wonderful video George I LIKED the Santa's and SCENT BOTTLES I WISH YOU HAD SHOWN US A PICTURE OF YOUR STUFF YOU WAS SELLING I LIKE TO SEE YOUR THINGS REALLY A GOOD SHOW 😉
Next time! My "part II" video starts with my booth. I liked the santas and scent bottles very well myself! I feel badly that I've never found the one you requested, I'm really unclear where it went but I've not forgotten should it turn up again.
I deal in only hand crafted items,,,I follow my heart not the current fad,,,you do speak of treen very much or hand built art pottery,,,,Dutch,Amish,or Quaker,,items,,,I feel the soul in these items
Michigan born and raised, here. I'm tickled that you're in Petoskey. It is a beautiful area and I hope you have a little free time to enjoy the lake and the town. Unfortunately, I'm missing this show, but it's my daughter-in-law's home town and she and my granddaughter are there now. I'm going to mention the sale to her and tell her if she goes to look for you! Enjoyed the video!!
Very interesting as always. Your breadth of knowledge is so impressive. I hope we get another video that shows us your own booth at this show. Best wishes for many sales. 👍🇨🇦
Great antique show! There were several items there that caught my interest. Behind the large glasses, there was a couple of chairs - a rocker and stationary chair - I really liked what I saw of those. I've always liked Buddy L, and those were some super-nice ones. Really liked the Studebaker promo car. Love the peach-blow! Mt. Washington made some really gorgeous pieces, and they can be quite expensive. That vaseline epergne, canoe and Arts and Crafts lamp were fantastic! Really enjoyed this tour! Thanks!!!
I especially like Mt. Washington and Victorian vaseline. The canoe was really cool as well! In fact, I agree with all your choices (especially the Studebaker for sentimental reasons)
Well I rewatched this! I keep missing the beginning of the lives. Enjoy your videos so much, you are so knowledgeable. Your head must hurt with all that information! Lol
Thank you so much for showing this. I live in southern Michigan and would have traveled north to see it and hopefully meet you by the time I learned. About it on your channel earlier it was too late to make plans to go. Maybe next year. I really value your opinion and education, gives us heads up on shows coming up. I plan on traveling down to Kentucky based on your recent videos.
That's great, Cora! Look me up if you get to this part of Kentucky. Petoskey happens twice a year, it's a very good show as are several in Michigan so I hope you get to attend in the future.
The Antique Nomad unfortunately, my nascent nomadic life is on hold. Due to health issues I’m at a higher risk for C-19 complications, I’m just not ready to get back out. ☹️ I have a Prius caRV. and depend a lot on state rest areas, truck stops, planet fitness and campgrounds. ✌🏽Hope I’ll be up to a nomadic community gathering on an Alabama mountain in October 🌻✌🏾✌🏽✌🏿🦋
I believe the "wall hanging" you pointed out at 36:19 is a "parochet," the curtain that covers the Aron Kodesh (Torah Ark) which contains Torah scrolls in a synagogue. The parochet symbolizes the curtain that covered the Ark of the Covenant. Although this example is decorative, (as most are) it had a definite ceremonial, religious purpose. I am unsure whether I would use it as wall art. I really find your videos informative and fun to watch, as I, myself, am not attending any shows at this time.
Thank you so much for your explanation! My dear friend who was practicing Judaism died and I don't have the background to speak intelligently about it. That makes great sense and I'm not sure using it as it was shown is appropriate from your definition. I really love sharing information and learning, I appreciate your input very much
Oh, I’m dying to go to an antique show! Thanks for showing yours! If you hear of any in Florida let us know! I’m in the SWFL location and so far haven’t heard of any. In September there is suppose to be an outdoor one in Arcadia, FL! Hope they don’t reschedule it again. They usually have it every 3rd or 4th Saturday of every month but since March it’s been postponed till September.
I hope Arcadia can restart in September too! They're hoping to restart the West Palm Beach Antique Fest each month starting in November. I hope to sell there again in November at Renninger's Mt. Dora, then West Palm and St. Petersburg/Venice shows in January
I got burned early on, hastily buying (not inspecting) a huge political button collection at auction. It was a valuable lesson. I got an entire reproduction lot. The earlier buttons should have had markings maybe indicating a specific novelty manufacturer on them. Later ones, I discovered, usually had a microscopic mark on the edge indicating a union made stamp. I also didn’t pay attention to many items that should have had copyright dates, registry marks, numbering, etc. There are some great reproductions out there, missing those tiny marks that authenticate that they are the “real” deal. Live and learn!
Yes, there were a bunch made that have the date of original issue on the rims, which are all reproductions! I was fortunate to be clued in to that early in my career so avoided them
So much interesting stuff! Being from Oregon, (not Portland) I enjoyed the Jantzen diving girl. They used to have an ad on the outfield wall of the stadium in Portland featuring a Jantzen diver. Always liked it.
I bought a hand-carved African (?) chair at the thrift shop. I never knew it was a chair. I bought it for the carvings on it and thought it was a shelf. It's been put aside as we were trying to figure out how it attached to the wall (head slap!) Now I need to fall down the rabbit hole of these type of chairs. I think mine would be made for a child. Any other info or keywords you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.
I think maybe a Google image search would get you in the right direction. I don't know for certain, but the other pieces I've seen were from what is now the Congo. They may be from Yoruba culture but I'm not definite on that.
If you see anything in my show booth or mall space in a video, email me at TheAntiqueNomad@gmail.com. I do have some eBay listings and will start doing a live listing drop for members first in October as well.
George, when will you be back in Michigan? I think you told me you might be in Battlecreek-for a show?....and while my calendar has been pandemically empty, I would love to have something great to write iin my calendar that I would like to look forward to. And I would like to meet you. Also, I try to find you on eBay and when I type in ‘theantiquenomadebay’ I never get connected. So what am I doing wrong? Ant chance that you could put a direct connection to your e bays etc on your face book? This would make it so easy for those of us who didn’t even have TV in the 50s! Yeah, I am getting older and I really want an Antique Nomad t shirt as I travel a lot and fit the criteria! Just love all your videos!
Hello! I'd very much like to meet as well. I'm not certain when I will be able to get back to Grand Rapids, I expect to have family business there but my late grandfathers' wife is currently unable to have visitors because she's in a nursing home. I'm behind schedule on getting the t-shirts done, I keep having requests and just am slower than I used to be but hope to get that going soon! As for my eBay site, it's just TheAntiqueNomad...I currently only have books and sports cards listed but plan to do more soon, another thing I'm expecting to get going by the 23rd of this month
Apparently if they were made before white settlement, they're considered to have been confiscated from their rightful owners and are still tribal property.
Is it? The most recent info I saw said most of the groups most recently were in the Indianapolis area. People are often surprised where the KKK had influence in the past, the town in Kentucky where I am bought a piece of land and tried to form an encampment few miles outside about a decade ago--but the local people hated it and were able to find enough legal reasons to force it out.
I lived in Bloomington ind, until I got out I know for a fact most of that area is KKK, and really a horrible experience for so many,,,Bedford is a scary place
Amazing vintage at the highest view!!!!

Great video George! Thanks again! ❤
Love watching your videos
love this show, amazing booths, thank you for the tour!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it
Those baskets!!!🤩
That was a good collection! There are baskets, and then...
Thanks George. I loved the dogwood quilt and the beaded bags. Enjoy Monday nights due to you.
Thanks, I'm so glad to make the least favorite night of the week a little better! I really liked those items a lot myself
Thank you for taking us with you. I love seeing all of the patriotic items. I collect patriotic items but do not have anything as cool as that Uncle Sam outfit. One time when I was a kid I dressed up as Uncle Sam for Halloween.
That suit was fantastic and in amazing condition!

Great presentation George! Can't wait until you get back to Florida! Can't wait to see you with all the insane history you store in your brain! How blessed you are!!!🕊
Very soon! I expect to be doing an estate sale in Florida in two weeks. You're very kind to say such nice things, I'm glad to share with you
Hi, folks! Glad to share another antiquing adventure with you all. So glad there's some antique shows happening again!
Glad you are busy with shows again.
Thank you, it's a real relief to get to have the chance again
@@TheAntiqueNomad Is there somewhere we can see your schedule?
Hold up wait I love antiques I live and die for them you said something about Seattle and I'm in Washington if you have a little shop there id love to visit or an online shop 😁
Nice show.
It really is! Wish I could go this weekend
My mom had a Studebarker Lark 1958--1960? ish. It was red and looked just like the model you showed. My older sister ended up rolling it, but managed to come out of it with only some bent hair rollers, LOL.
I think that was a 1959-60, I had it in beige. Red was a good color! I wrecked one and it was so sturdy it probably saved my life
I was raised in the Petoskey area (Bliss). It's a beautiful area.
It is! It reminds me of the fjords and lakes of Washington state, where I grew up.
Funny, I always thought something printed on a poster that was 57/317, meant the 57th print out of a total of 317 printed, so, for example, if you purchased the very first one, the 1/317, you had the most valuable one.
That's true on limited edition prints, but on movie posters it means the original release was 1957
Am currently binge-watching all of your videos. I feel like I’m becoming more educated with each one I sit through. Thank you so very much for taking the time to bring me along on these wonderful tours of shops!
Thank you! I'm so pleased to have you come along with me
Thanks for the awesome tour. Some of these pieces belong in a museum.
You bet, there were a few really unusual items there!
You show so many beautiful pieces.
I try, it helps to be at a nice show with good things!
What a fantastic video. So detailed it's amazing. You guys really out a lot of work into your videos!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for another fun and informative video. It's so interesting to see what items are available, or more common, in the various regions of your travels.

I did! I want to go explore that area a lot more
George, Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I so enjoy your content!!!😊
I appreciate that! I'm really enjoying helping everyone appreciate these wonderful things.
Another great one George. Did you have a chance to look around the Petoskey area? It's all just so lovely.
It is so reminiscent of where I’m from in Washington state with the glacial bays and long water views! Quite lovely
Thank you for another trip down memory lane. It's always fun.
I enjoy it too, every event triggers thoughts of interesting and fun times of yore
Great video... love seeing all the varied items.
Thanks so much! It was a fun show and I'm glad that showed in the video
Omg the uranium glass is fabulous
So good to see real Victorian vaseline and not just 1930s depression glass
Thanks George for another awesome video cant wait for the next one from the market. Friends from Canada
Coming soon! I'll see you with more on Wednesday
Great video as always. I'm amazed how much those wood crates with advertising go for.
You and me both!
Thanks for the great tour! Its wonderful to see all the neat things with your very knowledgeable commentary.
So nice of you to say! I really enjoy bringing it to my viewers and am glad you're part of it
Thoroughly enjoyed your vid George. Thanks for entertainment 🧡🧡🦘
Glad to have my Aussie viewers with me! I'm really glad you had fun and could join us
Love your videos!
Thank you! I appreciate hearing from you and hope you'll enjoy the next batch.
Fabulous show. Some incredible pieces... amazing how many antique dealers there are in the USA. Best wishes.
We used to have so many more, the Baby Boomers are retiring and so not as many as once there was but still lots to see at shows.
I love slate paintings
I thought those were cool as well!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I really prefer the unframed ones
I really enjoy your videos. It's informative, funny and there's a real sense of calmness from your voice that makes it very enjoyable. Unlike the other youtuber that yells constantly up on stage of her shows.
Can't wait for the next video....Thanks! 💜
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them, we all have our own styles but I like getting to share all the cool things I see on my adventures and I'm glad they appeal to you!
Wow... I bet you'd never loose those glasses ! Beautiful show, Thanks for the tour !
I bet I could, I'm good at misplacing things sometimes! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it
Another great video FULL of knowledge! Love ya George!!
You rock! I appreciate your appreciation. I had fun watching and buying at your Instagram Live today!
Thanks George. I live in Michigan and was not able to attend this show. So thank you for giving me a tour!
My pleasure! I hope you get to come to one in the future.
My Mom showed me (as a child) an abandoned poor house near where I grew up (Indiana). It has since been torn down.
Interesting! It was a difficult life I'm sure
George!! That was your EXACT car! Beige Studa
Baker. You must have it, so buy it😃 Now I can go back to your video.
Right on!
What a fabulous show, I will anxiously wait for the second part. I'm amazed at the amount of booths. I would love to go to one of these shows. Thank you for allowing us to accompany you. 🌻🌼🌿
Glad you enjoyed it! I was impressed at the size of this show as well.
George, how did I miss this video being filmed in my very own state?
Must have been during the
"lost weekend" I had. 🙄
Lol next July 4 you can lose yourself in Petoskey at the show
George, I throughly enjoyed this week’s video.
The canoe was the thing that impressed me the most today as well as the Victorian wicker pieces. Thanks, George!
Those were all rather impressive to see, none would be the types of things one would expect to survive in good shape! Thank you for watching
I've heard people talk about you and your channel and I finally got around to checking you out. I'm so glad I did!! You are extremely knowledgeable and I have so much to learn from you. Thank you for this amazing video!

Oh, George! Absolutely love the horsehead at the first booth where you showed the African carved chairs.....
That was a cool piece, I agree! I didn't know much about it to highlight it, but it was nicely done and well proportioned
My favorite those vintage Santas🎅👍
I liked those a lot too!
Wow! You are so full of knowledge on so many different things! I'd love to follow you around at one of these shows in person. Thanks for bringing us along.

Bow down to Washington!
I lived in Seattle and had a store in the old firehouse by the Seattle viaduct on Washington st.
Yes, that's right! My friends ran it for years, great shop. I think they recently retired
Really enjoyed that walk through. Looking forward to seeing what’s in the outside tents.
Glad you enjoyed it, I hope you enjoy the outside episode as well!

Yes, that's right! I remember that from going to Portland Timbers games there.
Cool
@@TheAntiqueNomad thank you 😃
I didn’t mean FB....but your general info when I type your name
where can i buy from you George
To get to his ebay just click on the link from the description below the video. His store isn't under that name.
Sure wish I knew then what I know now.
Yes, and we'll feel the same way in the future! Oh well....I suppose experience is part of the meaning of life
George why was it illegal to sell theold Native American canoes?
Apparently if they were made before white settlement, they're considered to have been confiscated from their rightful owners and are still tribal property.
@@TheAntiqueNomad thanks George
Wasn't everyone made to be right handed back then?
Mostly so!
I wonder if they have Alice the goon toys from popeye
Harper street lol
I meant bedford
You always make my day! Grace_Gardens_Bham.
Thank you! I really am glad people are having fun with me, I'm sure enjoying doing this
