Hi George, the mermaid candlesticks were beautiful and different. The bakelite pen holder was nice, too. I think this shop is the best I've seen, as far as nice finds at very nice prices....in ages. I might have nightmares being asdigned to dust inventory! 😉
A true digging shop, love it!!! I could have some fun in there looking at all the Fenton of which they have quite a bit of. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day
George, what an amazing place. Id have to spend an entire weekend there. I love the 2 pc inkwell set you bought. There were so many other treasures there that I would want to buy but can't. No more room or money....
Good evening, George. There were several things outside that interested me. I'd like to browse a place like that. I liked that _Moss Rose_ syrup pitcher. Ink wells have always interested me. I remember when they were highly sought after and collected. Loved the lady statue! There were a lot of kerosene lamps there that caught my eye. The cranberry Victorian one was fantastic. So nice to see one that hasn't been monkied with and converted to electric. I have one of the _Delaware_ sets. That kitchen cupboard was nice and priced extremely reasonably. There were a couple pond boats that caught my eye. I wish I had space for a collection of those. That was a phenomenal place, with tons of interesting items! Thanks for taking us along!
I'm glad I got the Moss Rose, I like old syrups and that pattern for some reason as well. Ink wells get my attention too, I also was pleased to find one I could afford. Wasn't that cranberry lamp amazing? I haven't seen one with that depth of color in ages. Delaware catches my eye because I have relatives there, I think the flower is some form of phlox that grows there. I should've found a way to fit that cupboard in somewhere for $75! Of course, right after I left it, I sold a piece in a mall and then needed something like it to fill the space...oh well. I always liked pond boats but they are space hogs, had one as a kid but the keel was too deep for our shallow pond and we never had a place to display it. I really enjoyed this place because there were true antiques as well as vintage, glad you did too!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I like old syrup pitchers, too. If I hadn't started collecting the beverage sets, I would've likely collected them. That was a very good price on the ink well. I bet that cranberry lamp would be beautiful lit by a flame. Isn't that the way it always happens, like with the cupboard - find a great piece for a really good price, not get it, then find out you should've. That's happened to me more times than I'd care to think about. At $75.00, that was a really good price for the cupboard. I would've likely gone back after it. Yeah, the pond boats are space hogs, and so are my beverage sets. I have a few pond boats and would like more, but I've nowhere to put them. That was a super-cool place to shop and browse!
George - you were in my neck of the woods in Upstate New York! This is my favorite kind of picking - disheveled, dusty, and basically a hot mess but the treasures you find are fantastic!
6:32 stop it, George! So handsome! 😁🤗 7:46 I love that you quote that correctly. Some versions say “all evil,” which is a big difference from “all kinds of evil.” The first translation promoted a lot of chosen poverty in the mid century at least, which was problematic. 8:51 that set is so beautiful! Totally would have gotten it if I hadn’t just found my dream inkwell.
@@nemophilistnay I’m glad you got the subtlety of the difference in the actual quote from the widely misquoted version, I thought that was an important distinction
The "basic" horse carriage @ 1.56 is a trotters sulky and is where the driver sits, in trotting horse races. Trotting racing started in U.S.A. and is now in a number of countries. It started here in New Zealand in late 1890's.

When you mentioned the Iron Fireman item, my mind went retro! I lived across the street from Iron Fireman in Cleveland, OH when I was a child. It seemed odd to me that a huge manufacturing facility was smack dab in a residential neighborhood. Now I am curious, and will research, if the plant still exists with a different brand.
I had that exact miniature car case! I heard they were rare because they weren't Hot Wheels. I sold mine to a toy Dealer. I'm sure he low balled me. Love the Top Hat! It suits you!

Hi l have been looking for the resell price for a 11 piece ceramic precious moments in the city of David ASavior is born mini Nativity set if you know would you mind kindly to let me know thank you love your content
Hi, Kim! Unfortunately, there are a lot of variations on that set, and it really would depend exactly which one you have. I would check eBay completed sales, they go regularly on their and there's a ton of recently sold listings, once you identify which is yours then you'll be able to tell readily
A while back I picked up a couple local interest 8x10 photos - something like $12 each. Got them home and after removing them from junk plastic frames I see the supposed 75 year old photos are a fresh print from a home printer. Neither tags had any note of being reproduction. And they came from a booth that was filled with legitmate antiques. Why on Earth people sell their soul (and credibility) like this is beyond me. It's actually really just sad.
@@randolm7698 that’s frustrating but I’m betting the booth owner bought them on the secondary market and never opened them to check. You might see if the mall will take them back if they were misrepresented
@@TheAntiqueNomad It's cool that your default is benefit of the doubt. That's actually mine too, cause the overwhelming majority of my antiquing experiences have been positive. In this instance though they knew - the frames were those cheap plastic ones with plastic 'glass'. It's nearly harder to keep the pic in than remove it. I didn't do it in the store cause they were locked up. The loss was so little that I didn't want to raise a fuss with the store itself.
