Ice-O-Matic ice machine not working - bad fan cycle switch

Ice-o-matic ice machine troubleshooting. Fan cycle switch not functioning properly. Condenser fan motor not turning on and the compressor shuts off on high pressure safety. Diagnosed and replaced fan cycle switch.

I didnt know that you can pinch and unpinch the copper line

It is a method that is recommended by some manufacturers. I would double check with your specific manufacturer. Also the pinch off method is not an easy task and there are risks involved. Proceed with caution!⚠️

I’m thinking of bypassed the switch and let it runs while I’m there at the shop. Will there by long term damage if I do that? Thank you so much.

There will be no long term damage. Iceomatic has been shipping machines with the switch bypassed. Only possible issue is if it’s super cold outside. The fan will need to be able to turn off if it’s too cold.

You could do that also. I think iom ships new machines with the fan cycle switch bypassed.
