    Ah, the Texas Stadium. Where it was about football, and the fans got into the games. Not like the new stadium that is a monument to Jerry, a club, a restaurant, an art museum, and a concert hall....oh, they have football games there too. The fans at the new stadium are corporate people that just sit there.

      I went to games at both stadiums and Texas Stadium was a trash heap. The crowd was no different. the new place is just bigger and doesn't get as loud due to acoustics. But I've never seen anyone not watching or out of the game.

      They could have. They were a better team than chicago that went to the Super Bowl. Had they won the game at seattle I think they would have won in chicago and then would have had a battle at the superdome.
      On this same day before the 3:15 kickoff Mcnabb tore his acl in philly. That opened the door to the nfc east. My thoughts leaving the stadium this day were beat ny in two weeks and you will win the east and then be set for a playoff run. They beat ny and then lost to jeff garcia and the eagles and lost the divisions because of it.

      Timmy Johnson My Dad & I had season tickets from 04 to 06. A lot of Ls especially in 04 but got to see Parcells turn what had been a terribly run franchise around & the emergence of Romo Witten Ware etc. Good times, new stadium looks better obviously but the atmosphere will probably never be the same. There was a little wine & cheese element at TX Stadium but it got significantly worse at the Death Star AT&T Stadium.

    • @timmyjohnson7954
      @timmyjohnson7954  7 лет назад +2

      I am a season ticket holder also. I was there for all those games and still am. The wine and cheese thing is a bit overdone. The atmosphere in the new stadium in 09/11/14/16 was great. 14 and 16 were incredible to be honest. I prefer texas stadium however and miss it a lot.

    Man Dallas always gets good receiving tight ends then trade them... Bennet and Fasano come to mind. Escobar is a good back to witten hopefully he doesn't get traded.

    • @umainebearman
      @umainebearman 8 лет назад +2

      You mean Stone Hands Bennett as he was known as by many while in Dallas? What Route am I suppose to run Bennett that couldn't figure out where to go and was one of the reasons Romo had to take the clock down to 1 because Romo had to tell him what to do? That Bennett? Fasano had a couple decent years in Miami and Bennett finally got his head out of his ass for a minute in Chicago but neither are as complete as Witten. They cant block, cant catch as well and cant fool defenders like Witten. Thats why they got cut. however watch out for Jeff Swaim, this kids going to be good.

    • @itdoesntmeanathing
      @itdoesntmeanathing 8 лет назад +1

      umainebearman Bennett and Fasano played well in Dallas and obviously they cant do what witten can. Witten is arguably the best TE in NFL History.

      Jeff Swain is better than Escobar but sadly is now out for the season. Thankfully they still have Escobar

    • @teej783
      @teej783 7 лет назад

      Escobar is just being used wrong. He never dropped a pass his entire college career. His first year he was targeted ten times for 3 TDS, 6 first downs and the one interception where Tyrone Smith allowed himself to be pushed back into Romo just as he was releasing the ball. Pretty good stats. You'd think he'd get 10 targets a game but they decide he should be used more for blocking than receiving. Splitting him wide takes a defensive player with him. Having a defender or multiple defenders account for you is better than blocking because it doesn't risk a holding call or injury. Gronk is big enough to block but the Patriots use him more effectively as a decoy on running plays.

    • @babayegajaeger7082

      The problem is they cannot afford to pay what it takes to KEEP them.

    I was at that game seating way up in the nosebleeds with the sun in my eyes... but GOD!! Yes God sent some 12 year old kid to switch seats with me. I was seated next to a 10 year old n his older brother asked me if I would trade seats with him so he could watch over his kid brother and he was seated in the end zone where Dallas would hold off Future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.. I tell the kid I would love to but don’t need your parents coming after me.. he said nobody going to bother you so off I went.. 10 rows up from the bottom of the end zone..tell me that’s not divine intervention (😂) it was ROMO’s fifth game but 4th start in the NFL. against the 9-0 mighty Colts. Ex Cowboy Darren Woodson was an analyst for ESPN and said “ROMO’s world will come crashing down!!” After that first down to Terry Glenn with two minutes left during the tv time out.. Romo was near the sidelines but on the field speaking to his linemen when the Cowboy fans began to chant ROMO!! ROMO!! ROMO!! His linemen pushed him to the center of the field and he looked all around the stadium by now it was deafening ROMO!! ROMO!! ROMO!! He let out that big old smile of his and gestured to the fans and the place went nuts!!! Parcells then issued the famous line “Put away the ANOINTING OIL!! Don’t ANOINT him just yet!!” Lol two days later I’m in the Chicago area for my daughter’s graduation at the Great Lakes Naval Station the Wednesday before Thanksgiving the next day on Thanksgiving my daughter n I go to Chicago for and eat at ESPN THE ZONE... and watch the COWBOYS vs the BUCS and for that weekend I was there I had so many Bears fans telling me that they wanted us in the playoffs I was like we will beat you.. Yiu guys hanging your hat on Rex Grossman? Then Seattle happens.. UNBELIEVABLE on a field goal it does seem like only yesterday

    • @thegorn68
      @thegorn68 8 лет назад +1

      He was actually Brad's radio partner in 1979 when Charlie retired for one year but then came back and played a few more seasons. Their best broadcast together was Roger Staubach's last regular season game when they came back against Washington. You can still hear that classic radio audio of them in some clips of that game from NFL Films. I agree with the 2006 pairing of the two. By then, Charlie wasn't involved in any NFL capacity for years and just sounds like someone far removed from the game without any good insight.

    • @timmyjohnson7954
      @timmyjohnson7954  8 лет назад +4

      He stepped in as a favor essentially for babe. He had been out of football for awhile. A quick google search and even a novice fan can see that calling charlie uneducated about football is about as wrong as it gets. The man knows as much about nfl football as anyone. seriously go study who he is and what he accomplished and then check back with us.
