    Lived across from Fullerton High. on Harvard which now does not exist. Graduated from High School in 1960. My family the Townsends owned the malt shop building and raised in the old house next to it. We took over the malt shop and called it Kenny's after my dad. State took it over after 1960 and tore it all down. Live in Simi Valley, CA and have not seen Fullerton in many years. Wish they had pictures. My name is Jo Leos.

    I lived in Fullerton for 17 years. I went to both the College and University. I have a ton of memories and still even dream about certain areas a LOT. It's still the city I've most dated in. I never knew the city existed until we moved there. Btw, Chapman Ave. is kind of a demarcation line, because things feel a lot different north and south of here. It's been 10 years since I've been there. But I will always love it no matter what.
    10:40 My drives to L.A. up the 5 freeway grew to at least 75-80 minutes from the 45 minutes or so in the 90s. And this was 15+ years ago since I last made that drive.

      Yes, north of Chapman Ave is best part of Fullerton. Closer to orangethorpe and south to Anaheim can be rough. There are tons of trails in Fullerton.

    Which one would you recommend: CSU Fullerton or SDSU?

    • @LivinginOrangeCounty
      @LivinginOrangeCounty  2 года назад +2

      I'm guessing it would depend on your major? It's such a persona decision. Both are great schools :)

    • @kaleimaile

      That is what I was going to say. It depends on what you want to major in. I got into SDSU, but decided to go to CSUN for undergrad and then, to CSUF for grad school.

      @@shonakotha Hi! We only do sales, but you might want to check with Cal State Fullerton to see if they can help you. American universities are usually pretty helpful when it comes to finding housing for international students. You might want to check out this CSFU resource: extension.fullerton.edu/international/students/housing/ Also, in our opinion hotpads.com/ is the best website for rentals. Best of luck in your search, and let us know if you have any other questions!

    Wow, you guys got so much wrong, and missed so much. I don’t even know where to begin. Oh yea…the park you have in the background is in Brea not Fullerton. Music wise, how did you miss the home of Fender guitars?! The commute to LA can take up to two hours it may be close as the bird flies but not as the car drives. The big melting pot you’re talking about is completely segregated. On the other side of the tracks downtown you have Hispanics up on the hill in sunny hills you have Asian and downtown Fullerton is a mix of white and Hispanic. And, fun fact. Coyote Hills golf course is actually situated on a chemical waste site. Fullerton was originally supposed to be a toxic waste site. Anaheim and the other surrounding cities did not want a toxic waste site near their cities so they decided to pull their money together and start Cal State Fullerton university. Once the three admissions buildings were put in they could no longer put a medical waste site there. Got a love history right?

  • @svbarr
    @svbarr 10 месяцев назад

    Great place to live and raise kids IF you are white , maybe Asian. Not a lot of Hispanic bias but Cops have a bad bad rep when dealing with Blacks , drive up a beat up car or look "artsy" you will get bothered by Cops for no reason. Remember the KKK had a huge foothold in Anaheim and Fullerton in the 20's-30's.Cops routinely hassled Hippies in the 60's and the 70's. Now that pot is legal in CA maybe some of that is diminished. But they did murder a homeless guy on camera about a decade ago - beat the poor guy to death, lawsuit, etc... Most public schools are far better than what you find in Downey, and LA County that borders OC. As for "Heat" someone who lived decades in Fullerton -- 90% of the time there is nice summer breeze around 3pm.IF YOU LIKE HORSES AND ARE RICH -- they have a very sweet small Equestrian area in Sunny Hills -- houses with over an acre with trails and even a cute little lake. When I was in Fullerton these houses were 500K-750k now they are well over 1.75 million but a real diamond in the rough. A very "coiffed" Equestrian area. East Fullerton near Placentia is mostly tract homes built from the 60's-70's. Kind of boring -- but safe.If I were buying in Fullerton today I'd draw a circle one or two miles around with the old Fullerton College as the center. As long as you get these older places earthquake bolted you may find a Craftsman or very cool late 20's to mid 50's construction place with loads of character on a sweet street with full size trees -- really nice shade with 'global warming' rearing it's ugly head. There is also another very exclusive expensive area other than Sunny Hills. THE SKYLINE DRIVE area has homes on the hills - some have views all the way to Catalina. Other than Orange Fullerton is about as good as you can get in non coastal (affordable) OC.
