You really know Sherman Oaks...the video is so detailed... thanks for the information...
I’m planning on updating and doing a new one in the next week or two! Thanks Roger
@@LivingInLAwithANJ waiting for the video....👍👍
Thought you looked familiar. You sold me a rug on FB marketplace! Thanks for the rug and the informative video about my new neighborhood :)
Ha ha! That’s so funny - you’re so welcome! Hope you’re enjoying the rug
Informative and helpful. Thank you.
Wow, super thorough and informative video!! I love Sherman Oaks
This is a fantastic video, so much great content for those who hope to live in Sherman Oaks or even like myself, somebody who already lives here!
What about the violence over there?
@@rogersampaio7450 hello! I've lived in Sherman Oaks for about 5 years and can't say I've seen or witnessed any violence or anything like that. I live by a public park with my 5 year old and feel safe. It also seems like I'm seeing a lot less homeless as well than I used to. Here's hoping it continues to get better!
@@4theSCREEN that's Great...Thanks so much...
I lived in Sherman Oaks for about 10 years over 20 years ago. Worked at Universal Studios in accounting. Not a big deal. Just did the same old stuff when I lived in Burbank and doing the same old stuff now in the Coachella Valley. Had a little store at the Sherman Oaks Galleria when it was dying. It's been revamped since then.
I go there now for movies and dinner!
I also didn’t know that about Chandler Estates!!
Mmm I love the restaurant Sweet Butter! Do you have any favorite indie coffee shops that you’d recommend that someone could work on their laptop and enjoy some joe or tea?
Love the content. We're visiting LA in a couple of months. We've decided to book a hotel in Sherman Oaks as our base to explore Griffith Observatory, go to Universal etc. Do you think we're too far out of Hollywood etc?
No not at all. Uber is so easy to get and cheap! If you’re driving it’s about 20 mins!
Helo ! I'm from Pakistan. I intend to visit LA with family in late July & early Aug 2023 (Total 06 members). Can you tell estimated cost of rent an apartment for 25 days or so. Also suggest best low cost but safe area for first time visitors.
Hi Check out AIRBNB - for a long term let you can often get discounts!
Nice summary. Good job. Get solar, my bill less than 25% of what it was before
Wow that’s great! I think I’ll get it too once I’m in a house I plan to stay in for a decent amount of time 🕰️ currently I move every few years for the primary ownership tax break!
Another tax idea, grab another property in NV TX or Fl....(I did the later state cause the ocean water is very warm) so since my business is internet based, can homestead (have new perm residence) in Fla for me, no state income tax. ...You do have to visit the other state quite frequently however. :-)
How are you liking it?
Where to move in Los Angeles to work in the movie industry without getting ruined and also somewhere safe ? Thank you in advance : )
Selena really depends on your budget and lifestyle. Are you thinking about buying or renting? Feel free to email or call me if you’d rather chat privately. Info is in the about section.
1:47 you forgot the most important one
“Mulholland Drive”
Ahhh yeah I did!
What do u do for a living??
I’m a realtor
Do you have reliable resources for finding roommates or rooms for rent in Sherman oaks?
Heather I mostly focus on sales, but I know there’s a Living in Los Angeles forum on Reddit that has lots of resources for this. I would definitely recommend you meet someone first before you commit.
what about sherman oaks vs studio city?
I can do that! If you think it would be useful?
Yes! That would be a great video.
Ok I’ll work on it!
I loved van nuys Sherman oaks as a kid in the 70s I lived in Weddington near chandler school and magnolia Ave was the border between van nuys and Sherman oaks. I loved being in van nuys our street was all ranch houses half acre lots with pools some with tennis courts fruit trees everywhere and walnut trees on blocks down to Woodman. Across the street they tore down a house built a mansion in 78 and thsts when it started to keep up with the Jones they destroyed the history of the ranch house to compete and build bigger mansions on block. Issac van nuys Isaac lankersheim and hazeltine moses Sherman built the valley as a farming community with ranch homes it's gone now and they changed name to Sherman oaks cos didn't want to associate with van nuys. Very disappointing went to visit my house last year and trees are all gone no semblance of history. Then again bunker hill the original beverly hills is gone and now music center is there
I live close to where you grew up in one of the houses with a bird box on the roof, I really like it! So cool to hear the history, thanks for sharing.
@@LivingInLAwithANJ I'll tell you another funny story. Being a. Valley guy going to chandler millikan and grant that's all Iknew never knew neighborhoods outside the valley. We had Cars so I knew how to get to tourist areas Westwood Hollywood forum coliseum Disney Knotts magic mountain Dodger angels stadium and long Beach arena and all the beaches. I had a friend visit me from LA in NYC and he talked about silver. Lake and I said where's that? And he said your such a valley guy. And it's true so I visited LA in 02 For a month had my friends car drove everywhere learned how to Get to east LA and eat at restaurant same as south central and the History of West Adams Mansions that were built before Hancock park and beverly hills. Now when I show people LA I show west Addams and Franklin Canyon and in burbank there's a cool spot take magnolia to the end make a right go to first street to make a left go uphill and stay to the left of the fork and you will see houses in the hills with different shapes colors sizes in the hills one has a train track like angels flight to the house
That’s so cool. The good thing about Covid was for a minute there was no traffic and it was good to get around LA super fast. I feel like Christmas here is kinda quiet so you can get around the whole city faster too.
@@LivingInLAwithANJ I had it in apr 2020 I was asymptomatic and the VA put me on a hotel in midtown Manhattan for a month and it was empty and it did show clear skies in LA no smog and traffic on news. I was in Okinawa in 82 for a year came home and got to lax and eyes burned another marine coming off the plane said first time in smog in a year eyes not used to it
I know the smog is bad! The no smog in Covid was wonderful
interesting - any famous people live there ?
Yes so many! Especially in the hills!
6 or 700/mo for just electricity?!? Wow!

$800 for electric? Sounds like a bad AC unit
Unfortunately it’s pretty normal in my neighborhood!
She’s all BS there is broken roads from all the rain
Many of the roads around Sherman Oaks are being redone. My street was done last month. They’ve prioritised since the heavy rain. Not really BS - this video was made before the heavy rain.
I was watching a video from someone taken a few months ago driving down Ventura Blvd. and the roads looked terrible.
I don't like sherman oaks I live in santa barbara
Santa Barbara is lovely! But I do like living in SO. I need to be closer to a big city I think having come from London!
Your cute from london ❤
