Dee!!! Holy Cow! You are right about this program! I just saved at least an hour removing a background from a piece of furniture! Thank you so much for this video!
Great to hear!
Thumbs Up!
I’ll definitely be using THIS app!!
Quick question Dee...
I have a lot of down time at work and I’m trying to start using my iPad running LumaFusion to make RUclips videos.
I’m curious, how mobile is your content being made?
Are your videos made on mobile devices and are you doing any of the work away from home?
π
LumaFusion is great. Honestly, it depends on what is going on. I have some other things that I do but for this channel I usually edit on my PC because of render power. HOWEVER, I'm about to pick up the new iPad and I'm going to be doing my editing on that and making videos showing the entire workflow and process. My laptop just isn't powerful enough to render so I've stayed on PC, but I know the new iPads are beasts so I'm getting one soon and will move everything there. Will be some big news when that happens on the channel. I'll be using LumaFusion and KineMaster on the iPad to edit with.
Forgot to add, I will add some LumaFusion videos for the iPhone and the iPad fairly soon.
Totally! I could go on and on about how awesome LumaFusion is!!
I use a lot of music making apps and there’s this new wave of fully mobile “iPad Musicians”
For the same reasons as you, I’m not ready to take the plunge yet and be fully mobile but it’s coming soon! I figure in a few years when it comes time to get a new computer, I might be ready then.
I’ll definitely be around for your LF (LumaFusion) videos and I think I might be able to contribute!!
And to anybody reading, are any of you guys working fully mobile yet?
I’d love to know!
Happy YouTubing everybody!!! :)
π
Sick. Also wanted to say thanks for reaffirming that my iPhone is all I need to make and edit vids. Just made my first multi angle live performance video on KineMaster and am super stoked with how it came out. Thanks duder!
Awesome! Yea, your iPhone is all you need. I have many more iPhone videos coming. Just have to juggle them with Android to take care of both sides.
Another awesome Dee Nimmin tutorial and app suggestion. I am for sure going to give this app a try. I have been using Magic Eraser on my iPhone and iPad to make cutouts for thumbnails based on your prior suggestions and tutorials. I greatly appreciate your content and outstanding tutorials. You are the go-to guru for mobile content creators. Thank you!
Thanks, David. Magic is still solid, but I've really come to like this one more when it comes to precision. I like how I can go back and adjust it later, dot by dot to fine tune the cut in the event it's not as good as I wanted it to be. Have a great weekend!
@@DeeNimmin - I loaded Exacto on my iPad and will be experimenting with it this week. Cheers! 👍
This is so so much better than what I’ve been using (although I do use my desktop to cut things out, but the results here are way better). I love that there’s a feathering option. Thank you so much for the tutorial!
The feathering option is really nice. Just a little bit really softens the edges up.
This isn’t a comment about this app however I love your video, I’m looking for an app to control my iPad and iPhone camera from windows 10 pc. I know about switcher studio however as a new RUclips content creator I don’t have that sort of budget hope this is an appropriate question, I use 2 iPhones and an iPad to create my cooking and lifestyle videos please help Dee you normally really good with thing like this cheers Auntydaren 💫
This is so super stoking. I am stoked in sweaty stoke. But does this have a magic wand? My stoking will dry if no magic wand because that's a lot of work when I only need a magic wand to remove one color.
Just bought this app thanks to watching this, I definitely needed the tutorial thanks 👍
Hi Dee! I have just stumbled across your channel as well as Nick’s and you guys are giving me inspiration to try and grow my channel and community. I was wondering what your thoughts are on using a iPad for recording video and what the best setups are for recording on a tablet. Also I am curious if the graphics you use in your videos are created in a mobile app or on a computer? I use LumaFusion for my video editing on iPhone and iPad but the titles they offer are not great. Any suggestions?
Thanks for checking out our channels! Luma Fusion is great! You can do a LOT with it. Is there any parts of my video that you want to recreate with LumaFusion?
I have some videos coming on LumaFusion and I’m going to show my entire workflow with it and how I edit. I prefer a PC due to render power but I’m waiting on my new iPad to come in then I’ll make some videos about it.
Dee Nimmin thanks so much for responding to my message. I do all my editing and post on my iPad Pro. It is amazing. If you get the iPad just make sure to get the Apple Pencil. It makes editing so much easier. I am interested in making videos using my iPad. Could you make a video talking about how to rig up the iPad to make videos (e.g. microphone setup, lighting, tripods, etc)
I’m going to do a whole series on iPads soon. I got you covered. 👍
I am a mobile creator on iPod and I do try my best for videos. I watched a couple of your videos and I am already using those tips. So now can I be on ur channel Bc u seem like a cool guy
Hey Keyon! That's great to hear! Welcome to the channel!
Can I change the background color to white?
You are awesome my friend! Question will this app work with Canva?
I’ve never imported a transparent image into Canva but I think it supports it.
@@DeeNimmin I'll try it.
This is a lot more exact and allows revisions a lot more than LightX which I use on iPhone, but it’s magic cutout is so intuitive and fast, and has built in feathering on a slider which is pretty great really - so I think I will stick with it xx
I’ll check that one out, thanks Lizzie!
Thanks a lot Dee I have not found a good one yet, this looks like even I can figure it out haha. Cheers!
Hey Dan! If you have an iPhone or iPad, this one is the best.
Dee: I think I have a good idea for a video topic. Why not address the question of _why_ one should _prefer_ (rather than just settle for) making videos on one's phone _rather than_ on a laptop or pad or desktop computer? If it's just a matter of being cheaper, then it's kind of strange to devote an entire RUclips channel to a technology that one uses _solely_ because it's cheaper, which I don't think is your main reason for focusing exclusively on what you do. But I'm not sure you've addressed the question of the _advantages_ of creating on one's mobile phone rather than using something else, have you? Wouldn't that be a good video topic?
That would be a great topic. Thank you!

Revolutionary comment
Brett Robbins I’ve been using my iPhone for 2.5 years to make RUclips videos. Made over 40 videos. mostly for financial reasons, I haven’t got a camera, but there are sooo many people out there using phones to start their channel and even so there is a big untapped audience who can use these tips, yes there are tons of random videos on RUclips with phone tips, but most of them aren’t as high quality as these. I can say a benefit of using phones is that I feel it’s pretty fast and easy though my screen size can make things tedious. It’s iPhone 5 size, I’ll be upgrading finally to a camera in a few months. Mostly because it’s cheaper than buying a newer iPhone! Looking in $500 range. I just want to see what it’s like to use an actual camera for my videos. Overall, I think it’s smart to make videos in this niche and I enjoy the vids.
I use my mobile because it is cheaper, requires a lot less gear to lug around with me on location and store when not in use, takes all sorts of universal phone plug-ons like external mics, tripod phone holders, rig frames etc which is cheaper than buying camera specific ones, and then the best reason is I don’t have to transfer the footage and audio files onto the laptop from camera for editing, as I have everything I need software and hardware that I need all in the one device - saves a lot of time I reckon, plus I always have my phone with me even when waiting at the bus stop or on my lunch break and can quickly knock up a thumbnail or write my descriptions, or even do some editing in any downtime I have xx
I'm an Android Boi but still watched cuz DEE!
also I saw some Adobe apps on the last scene, I could never figure out how to use Photoshop touch and other Adobe apps are we gonna get tutorials on them too?
Also don't forget those streamlabs tutorials 😉 also don't get exhausted be at your pace😊
Thanks brother! Which apps do you want full tutorials on?
@@DeeNimmin streamlabs and Photoshop touch. Maybe other in the future but for now only two
Does it work on android
Hi Dee, just wanted to share this with everyone, because I had been looking for an app like this for the longest time and stumbled upon pixomatic... really easy to work with, you can select automatic or manual or switch between both of them and you don't need the pro version, you can use the free one, just delete some sessions/ cuts every once in a while, it's really easy to work with, very fast
I love that app! It was in one of my other videos. Really good app.
@@DeeNimmin oh cool!!! I must've missed that!! sorry Dee :)
Nice! Wish it worked on Android. Still watching in any case, great video Brother.
Thanks for the support! I have another video with some Android cut out apps but they are not as good as this one.
Love this app bro!
Yea boss, this one is amazing. Works like software.
That’s a killer app Dee!🔥 Thanks!🤘🏻🤓
Thanks, Paul!
I just did one in five minutes!!! Wow!
Fast! Good job!
Thanks!
Do you know any apps to make multiple clones of your self
In which app?

Yea man! And you've been here the whole ride. I really appreciate that.
Thank you Dee. This is exactly what I was looking for. You made this easy to understand and easy to follow along. Thank you.
Thanks, Pauline! Happy to help.
what apps?
I did everything with the dots, but when i hit the checkerboard, it crops out my image and not the background. What am i doing wrong?
Do you know any good special effect apps to make yourself go invisible while in video??
You need to learn how to mask. Power Director and KineMaster have chroma key features to do this.
Dee Nimmin Hmm I’ve used KineMaster quite a bit but haven’t found that. Maybe you could do a tutorial??
What apps for iphone?
Hey Dee Nimmin, thanks heaps for this very informative and well produced video! I have a question. I saw elsewhere in this thread, a question about doing this, but for video. You mentioned the name of an app, a function called chroma key (which i’ve heard of, but haven’t learnt about just yet), and the technique of “masking”.
Are these the technical terms for this exact thing, but with moving pictures (videos) instead?
I want to cut my face (which is moving - making facial expressions) out of a square video. My goal is to somehow do this so I can have a video with a transparent background that I can merge/layer with the Metro Goldwyn Mayer lion (essentially replacing the roaring lion with my face). I’ve brainstormed how I might go about achieving this with the apps I currently have, and the only idea I had was to extract every single frame in the Lapse It app, painstakingly erase the background of each one using Photofox, and then import each one back into Lapse It in the correct order.
Obviously, that would be an absolute nightmare to do though! I’m wondering which techniques and apps are my best bet for this on iOS, if any? Something that at least semi-automated the process by tracking some of the movement between frames to perhaps automatically apply the eraser?
Is there an app for iPhone capable of doing such a thing?
Thanks again!
It depends on how good you want it to look. You can use KineMaster or LumaFusion to do most of it.
Cliff notes: Add a layer of the lion video down in the app. Then add your video of your face in a new layer. Mask around your face to remove everything except your face. You may have to soften or feather the edges some if it’s possible in those apps.
You might have to keyframe your head to move with the lion, but that can be done in the apps for sure.
Chroma.... yea that would probably work too. Build it in layers just the same but add a green image on the lion face and keyframe it as it moves. Then add your face and work it into the chroma feature with the channel options.
Test all this with KineMaster first. I think it can be done. Won’t be Hollywood quality but it can be pretty good once you figure out the app.
This is exactly my question. Often I’m signing which means detail and clarity is essential for the hands/fingers and I’ve tried green screening and it always blurs the hands 🙌🏽 any suggestions, I saw another app but costs a lot per month
Love your vids nick and can I have the link for the anndroid one?
Thanks! It’s the top pinned comment. 👍 I list a few in that video.

Oh yea. Great for cutting out images.

Great information
Thanks!
Nice, I’ll have to check this one out! I normally use Eraser, or another app called CutOut.
This one works with points instead of like an eraser. I really love it.
Yeah that's different so I definitely want to try it

0:54...why blurring?
That's how Apple works. It blurs the background when you open a folder.
You can't download Picart for iOS 9 I am tired of lies I have been looking for a eraser that is easy
That’s unfortunate, I wasn’t aware they stopped at iOS9. Is there a reason you don’t upgrade? You might run into this problem with a lot of apps.
You could also have a look at Exacto, Photoshop Mix, MagicEraser, Eraser, or Pixomatic.
Exacto is the best in my opinion but I don’t know if it works on iOS9 and it’s not free.
Hate to say it, but Affinity photo for iPad blows this away
