Thank you for such a wonderful and heartfelt tribute to our King Edward He was such a kind, classy soul.
watching interviews with him and other kind folks like yourself paying tribute to Eddie and reactions makes it somewhat easier to bear.
Rock / Metal / Guitar Music rarely gets mainstream exposure and respect so it is greatly appreciated you guys doing this.
There’s a Bad Religion ( Punk Band ) Lyric that says it al “ Everyone you love leaves a mark on your soul,
The world is a little less bright without King Edward I’m fighting cancer and depression and EVH has been an integral part of my life since day one.It may some daft but it feels like I’ve lost a family member.
His devotion to the instrument and chasing tone is unparalleled.
This is a brilliant interview if you haven’t seen it ruclips.net/video/yb26D8bBZB8/видео.html&ab_channel=Z%C3%B3caloPublicSquare
most people don’t know the King Edward was a bi-racial half Asian / half white Immigrant and that his lifelong friends were the black kids who stood up for them when they came to the US. As they were ‘half breed’ immigrants who couldn’t speak the language. And look at where they ended up man! A definitive American Dream story.
Eddie played the solo on Michael Jackson’s Beat it, re-arranged it so it sounded more ‘Rock’ and introduced Michael to a wider audience for free.
Eddie buried Dimebag Darrell from Pantera with his original Bumblebee Guitar when Dime’s life partner Rita asked him to make a Copy Ed said “an Original deserves an Original”
Vinnie Paul ( Pantera ) Dimebag’s brother says the last words his brother said to him was Van f+*in Halen’ their nightly ritual before hitting the stage.
He gave Jerry Cantrell 5150 Stacks after touring with Alice In Chains and the last concert he went to was TOOL and a TOOL fan asked him to take a picture of the fan in front of Tool’s stage and he did, The fan had no idea who Ed was and Ed was chill with it. / no ‘don’t you know who I am’ attitude.
Frank Zappa loved and respected Eddie and got him to teach Dweezil who was obsessed with ED When Frank died Ed was THE 1st first to call with condolences and to offer any assistance.
He did the same for Chris Cornell Guitarist Pete Thorn when Chris Passed
He got Allan Holdsworth signed to Warner to introduce Allan to a wider audience
He was the 1st to mod his guitars in such an extreme way chasing tone, popularising the Super Strat - Humbuckers in Strat style guitars, Waxing Pickups, Variac on his amp and did his first 2 albums with the original Fender Whammy which led to the creation of the Floyd Rose
Whammy Bar and later he developed the D-Tuna addition to go from standard to drop D
Les Paul Said Ed, him & Leo Fender are the only guys who know how to make guitars
His 5150 Amp is still THE go to amp and sound of Modern metal, Gojira use the EVH 5150
His Rhythm Playing was funky, tasteful and rockin’ and his songwriting is the reason his loss is affecting grandparents, parents, kids and all ethnicities alike as Van Halen songs will live forever.
Henry Rollins saw them as an Opening Band and they Blew away Black Sabbath, Ozzy said someone doesn’t get That good without crazy dedication to your craft.
He bravely and quietly fought cancer for 20 years
Much love to Alex Wolfie, Valerie, Janie, Dave, Michael, Sammy, Gary & all the fans that lost this Brother from another mother
    Enjoy EVH ruclips.net/video/L9r-NxuYszg/видео.html&ab_channel=Hazardteam

Eddie was a humanitarian when he wasn't shredding. He might have had his own demons but he seemed to be willing to put them aside to help someone. I understand the last few years of his life he actually spent going to outside festivals. He took pictures for people who wanted group photos and most people didn't recognize him. He also spent time getting to know regular people at the shows also. Again, don't think most people realized who they were talking with. He never acted like he was this Guitar God.

I went to school with Melia. She was very smart and was liked by many. I believe she had a lot of input in business matters while at Peaveys. May be just a coincidence but the company headed south after she died. Like many manufacturers, they contracted a lot of production overseas and quality declined. This video was in Peavey's heyday. It’s a shame all those Peavey factories and jobs are no more. I supposed Hartley had to do what he had to do to compete with the other companies that are selling Americans out.
This is the story of an America that used to be but is no more.

These people, the Peaveys, on "Undercover Boss" screwed their employees out of their benefits on national tv.

      @Plowguitarist 8 лет назад +5

Really, screwed em right out of their benefits on "Under Cover Boss" the TV show huh? Why did they do that? Was it to save the company, or because they weren't doing the job up to par they where getting paid for like the auto workers in Detroit did till they were replaced by dedicated Mexicans that would work? Or what? Missed that episode apparently.

@@Plowguitarist As a former Peavey guitar amp user, I was told about the Undercover Boss Episode. As I watched the episode, I couldn't believe it myself was disheartened at the end of the episode. I have met Hartley and His first and late wife Melia at a music retail convention here in Anaheim. They were truly good people. After Melia died, who knows what happened after he married Mary Gray. For Hartley Peavey to allow his stepson Cortland to take over the company, Peavey went from great to good to bad to worse. I tried to stay to Peavey until I saw that episode. You have to be pretty cold blooded to do with Cortland Gray did. Here's a link for you to see. www.cbs.com/shows/undercover_boss/news/1003833/. By the way, you can also google that episode.

Peavey amplifiers are the best, they are of top quality, affordable and virtually indistructable, I owned a studio pro 40 that I played for over 20 years and never had an ounce of trouble with it, I can't say the same for some others I have tried.
