Edmond Fong used to be my band director when i was in primary school and my brass teacher’s classmate :0 my brass teacher is also my band director in secondary school and this is one of his favourite songs❤
I played this back in 8th grade and took 1st place in a concert band competition for middle school in southern california. It is of a decent difficulty.
this is the seniors' song this year....we sound ok when we play with our band of fifty ppl....go clarinets lol second chair. but now first! i wish our brass sections sounded that good.
I am so happy that i have the chance to play this song in my band. I am playing the trumpet solo part. So great. The song is so nice. Just hope the outcome for my band will be the same or at least similar.
Hello Sax player here!!! I just wanna say that I had that solo and man yours was great! But heres a trick no one else did... before you get to the dotted half, trill the note going into it. It makes it sound SOOOOO much better...trust me...
i love swearingen's writing here. its really good for the lyrical sections being split between entire ensemble, brass, and woodwind sections, as well as a really good low wind part. cresendos and decresendos are also used pretty frequently, as well as pretty sweet percussion parts. its a great younger band piece all around.
WOW!There seems to be tons of ppl playing this song, were playing this in our band too. I think its an okay song even though the clarinet part is easy, but i still like shaker variants better. Nice Work^^
ahhhh!!! i play the flute and we have an assessment on this whole song tommorrow and im so afraid ill screw up. lol and then we have solo auditions and i really want the solo... and so does my best friend. ugh:/
@darthgallion we have to seperate concert band classes at our school that merge during contest, but I always played the solo for the other band class and it was the first solo I ever played and it scared me so bad.

I love the part at 1:14. I play Baritone, and I don't usually get cool sounding parts, so I really love it.
