- In this episode, the manager of the guesthouse where I am staying is showing me around the oasis that was created here and explains how water is managed to sustain the life of the people here. The way the community works together in the oasis, the women and children centre and the community bakery is fascinating to see. In environments like these, you have to work together when resources are scarce!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for visiting our humble desert town and immersing yourself in our culture and way of life. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest, and we appreciate the interest and respect you showed toward our community.
Your willingness to learn about our customs, traditions and daily routines was truly admirable. It was evident that you took the time to observe and ask questions, and we were happy to share our experiences and perspectives with you.
As you explored our town, I hope you gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty and resilience of the desert landscape. Despite the harsh conditions, we have learned to thrive and adapt to our environment, and our culture reflects this strength and ingenuity.
Your way of life is beautiful in it's simplicity, No Airs no graces just people working together for the benefit of all, But wuth an order that is based on honest hard work gets its due rewards.
I have no doubt the community as a whole gets together to help somebody who life throws misfortune at through no fault of their own just life in it's many myriad of ups and downs good times and poor times, there are no Bad times those are invariably created by mankind who have fallen into the trap of selfish thinking and acting for in my thinking self serving actions only beget bad times or acts of evil where nobody wins.
Your culture is pure and beautiful just like the wonderous land you inhabit, السلام عليكم
Thank you for describing your people's lifestyle for us.
C'est très beau et equitable 🙏
It was truly fascinating, and you explained it well.
I was so fascinated and awe struck by learning about your culture and way of life. so many people could benifit by watching and learning how everyone works together !
People don't understand the work it takes to make a video like this. Noraly has mastered it. To run multiple cameras, interview people, unload the cameras, edit the footage and add audio.... it's an art. The guesthouse manager had a lot of energy! You really get the sense of community in the collective. When resources are thin, everybody works together, everybody thrives. Thanks for this video, Noraly! Well done.
She also does captions! It's amazing how much work she puts into them!
...and how about the research she does for each town and terrain...very educational and entertaining.
Absolutely agreed with you guys
Couldn't agree more. As a small time RUclipsr - Noraly is the pinnacle of unique travel content that we all aspire to. Consistent amazing work!
Truth to that Sir👍
This guy's passion for his oasis and village is infectious. The world is a better place because of people like him.
You welcome andrew you have to visit our country u will get a wonderful experience here and enjoying you journey
i love this guy's enthusiasm
welcome to morocco brother it's your country every time
I like how that man acted as professional guide. He described their watering system in details with good simple English. His welcoming behavior is really incredible. May Allah give him the best in this life and the next.
Thank you for visiting our area. For those wishing to visit it, there are people who take care of all the tourists from the rain until they reach these areas and enjoy these views. This requires only two days of visitation. Welcome to Morocco 🇲🇦
It amazes me how you just show up out of the blue to these places and these people take time out of their day to basically give you a guided tour of their home, businesses, way of life. It shows just how welcoming strangers around the world can be and certainly helps restore my hope and faith for humanity. Noraly, you're giving us all hope for the future....thank you.
Desert hospitality.
He made her eat all the raw veggies. I personally don’t like the test but it is very valuable in the desert , can’t throw any away

Fascinating lifestyle in a forbidding part of the world.
She would have to tip him.I’ve been to Morroc twice and this is the way it works.
He rubs hi belly, “make a salad inside” and his smile at his own joke is priceless! What an awesome tour guide an upstanding man. So welcoming and willing to share. Phenomenal episode, Noraly!
20:01 yeah…laughed so hard. Great guide…Everything I give you, you eat!!
Where was this? I can't find it. I must have missed it.
Imagine somebody going to disturb such people who have their rules that they follow to the latter. This water management strategy is mind-blowing. Thank you Noraly for showing us this. Both educative and entertaining.
That way we don't want waves of tourist to ride such places
Et encore il n'est pas rentrer dans les détails car elle est basé sur un système complexe et ingénieux qui existe depuis toujours chez les amazigh.

Great episode. Some of the freshest good food I ever ate was in Morocco. Really nice people. Always a good day when I stopped to camp and meet local people. Coming back to the west with it's plastic and metal wrapped food was so hard. I just sat outside a Spanish supermarket for half an hour not wanting to go in when coming back through Europe. "Culture shock" was the coming home to England part of the journey! Thank you Noraly. Asalamou Alaykoum to all the good people of Morocco.
Wa3alikom salam. Glad to hear you had a great time
You're always welcome

Salam David. We'll be happy to see you here again in the future
Thank you for you lovely words
It's incredible how those people's lives are so well organised around that water !
We take water so much for granted but they really have to work for it there and they have developed a very neat system for sharing it.
Necessity is indeed the mother of invention, mr c.
And we complain about (rare!) hosepipe bans in UK🇬🇧

Watching the garden tour was a reminder of how connected we are to the soil and how important it is to maintain our environment for food resources and clean water.
So true, my grandfather used to cultivate many vegetables and fruits like in the oasis for our home consumption, I didn’t get it until now that he was so connected to the land and he loved doing it, we unfortunately lost this heritage in those modern days, I missed the old days and someday I’ll go back where i grew up and renew my grandfather lifestyle because there i find my inner peace that I lost inside this digital society we become.
This has been one of the most fascinating episodes, love the collective nature of the oasis families.
It's absolutely amazing and fascinating.

I am struck by the justifiable pride your guide has in what they have accomplished in his community. So beautiful to see this way of living.
The community living there at the oasis is how we all lived thousands of years ago....self sufficiency, your own rules and sharing between families for the good of all. Excellent vegetables, both for food and herbal medicines. Yes they have some modern conveniences, electricity and vehicles....but come the day of the next world apocalypse, those are the folk who will survive....I'm not so sure many of us in First World countries would do so well.
don t worry you gonna survive too..coz we know how to share.
So cool to see how the communal farms worked in the middle of the Moroccan desert. This brought back memories of me, as a small boy, walking with and helping my grandfather irrigate his organic peach and plum orchards in California. He had over a 100 acres of fruit trees and was selling organic fruit to Los Angeles health food stores in the 1950's-1960's. Granny and Pop were ahead of their time. Thanks for another window into how unique and beautiful all the people of the world can be.
As an avid gardener, this episode was particularly inspiring! I love how they all work together so that everyone gets their share of water and land. Fascinating. Thank you for teaching and sharing.

Such a gracious man showing us the oasis and their life style, thank you Noralee
Was he a paid guide ?
Sorry I gave you a southern name Noraly.
The simplicity in Noraly's approach in acquiring and relaying the information to us is splended. I remember my childhood in old country watching farmers siting by the canal in the middle of the night watering their crops. Watching Noraly's journeys, I noticed a common bond of love and respect between normal people across the World, if you take out the ugliness of dictatorship and corporate greed.
Exactly my thoughts as well. People are inherently good. I did not see any garbage anywhere and that is impressive compared to what one would find in modern cities.
I nominate her to be the Ambassador for Peace around the World ❤
@@junechacon9602 Absolutely. What she brings to the table is worth much more to humanity than what angry little Gretha Thunberg does.
@justincase8532 one can disagree with respect or with disdain. I prefer the former way. I think it also more in harmony with the style of Noraly.
@justincase8532 I agree with you. You don't find any garbage or graffiti scrawled all over the village walls. There is no destruction from vandalism. Our society here in the United States of America could learn from these people if only they would listen.
In Greece, we call this plant at 14 minutes, ''Seskoulo''. It is ideal for salads and much better than lettuce. Multivitamin. One of your best episodes, Norally

So far this has been my favorite season, Morocco seems like such a lovely place and is among the top on the list of countries I really wish to visit now!
And you're welcome anytime 😊
Probably the safest country in that region also and lots of English speakers. Lovely place!!
As a Moroccan, I am enjoying this series just as much as someone who discovers these places for the first time. So much to learn and to explore. Thank you so much for showing our country through your eyes and perspective! Btw huge fan of your channel and have watched every single video you posted since the start in India! Keep going

Just when I think your episodes can't get any more fascinating...from a farming, gardening, and botany point of view, I was glued to every word and picture. Sharing water and land with such combined simplicity and complexity. Just wow! It makes my heart so happy, too! 😍
Another great adventure! As a desert horticulturist in Arizona, I deeply appreciate the tour of the community farm. The irrigation methods, the way they use sand to mulch the date trees when they're dormant, the things they grow... Everything. I learned things as a professional by seeing them through your eyes. And the music in the square! What lovely, welcoming people. Honestly maybe my favorite episode ever. Thank you for this!
This episode is an oasis in itself in these caotic times we are living right now. Well done Noraly, thank you!
The oasis is amazing and the way they control the water to each family is remarkable.
You are remarkable, Noraly, in your ability to make contact and establish warm relationships with people wherever you go -- and to enable us to share your experiences. Others would take weeks to make a video like this; you do it in a couple of days.
The Oasis and the gentleman that provided the explanation and tour was really an amazing treat. I have a strong appreciation for their way of life and the order that has been put in place. Thank you so much!!!
Noticed how tidy it was around that village. no trash blowing around. As a farmer one can only bow your head to the enormous effort put into the irrigation.
Morocco is generally clean
The watering system and the sharing of land that the gentleman explains is the most interesting thing I learned these days!Soo impressive 👍

Noraly does it again! The educational value of this content cannot be overstated. The water and land sharing system was interesting.
I think this was one of the most interesting episodes Noraly. It's just incredible to see how they moved the water 6km to the Oasis. Just amazing.
You know, because you have so many people watching you around the world, we all got a lesson on how people survive in an arid country. Thank you for having him explain the process of farming.
Hi George, indeed the area is arid, but the country has also lush green forests, snow-capped mountains, and plains that feed people in EU and Africa, among others. Cheers mate
Noraly, thank you for exploring this incredible self-sustainable community, and taking the time to share your guide's dialogue - he's clearly proud of his heritage. It's amazing what can be achieved when people work together using the little resources they have to create an intentional, holistic community. Truly heartwarming and so inspiring. Thank you!

The fact it is in the desert and yet this village thrives. Teamwork is most important. Thank you Ms Noraly for filming it all and a HUGE thank you to your host in this video.*
So ingeneous!!! And I love Noraly's attitude about the dried-up lake: "It's a real shame---but on the other hand I'm now riding on the bottom of a lake." Find the positive in everything.
Your oasis guide was terrific and that oasis itself was absolutely beautiful! Love your interactions with the local people.
I can't explain how much I missed you after the rally. It's so comforting to curl up with one of your adventures and I've gotten into the habit of watching you a bedtime. I appreciate you and the fact that you allow us to view your travels, making us feel like we're right there with you. Hats off to Noraly!!!
This is the best thing I've seen on the internet in weeks. I'm a middle-aged American and watching this is a genuinely emotional experience.
It's incredible to see the guy in the middle of desert knowing three major languages well besides the local language. The water delivery that he was showing is called "Qanat" that was invented in Persia thousands of years where they move the water frpm the mountains in the desert for up to 60 kilometers. It is amazing how these people live a comfortable life with not much! Share with others when we can!!!
The same system was used by the ancient Nazca people who lived in the Nazca Desert in Peru. The hydraulic system, known as the puquios, is a combination of underground tunnels, small reservoirs, and spiraling holes called "ojos" that lead from the surface to the water below. The spiral-shaped holes funnel wind into the underground canals. The wind helped to push the water through the system, with the spiral "ojos" serving like ancient pumps.
It does not surprises...most Maroccoans are multilingual...French and Spanish is common because of their colonial past.

I love the collective nature of their community, and the respect they show to the natural world.
What at first seemed to be an inhospitable landscape turned out to be a living, thriving oasis.
Indeed she is an awesome person ! but just so you know, in moroccan culture, whoever you are wherever you go, people will invite you in and share with you whatever they can with nothing in return. its just a part of the tradition because they judge no one or seek no one's approval, but simply being normal human beings who live life one day at a time
Fascinating demonstration of water management in the oasis. The system depends on having a structure to which everyone has to adhere. Fascinating. Noraly, as always taked us along for the lesson.Thanks.
Noraly, this was by far one of the coolest episodes of your adventures. I hope the guesthouse manager and his fellow people can also see this great video and how much positive reaction it has gained! ❤
As a child of the 60's, I immediately recognized the oasis community you visited. It is the ancestor of what we called a 'COMMUNE" here in the states. we can take so many lessons from other cultures that still operate under the systems that had been in place for hundreds, if not thousands of years. It is so neat to see how people come together to share resources, work and ideas to better the whole group. Side note - when you visited the village musicians, I took notice of the traditional garb worn by them all, but especially they were all wearing sneakers, high tops, running shoes, etc. it seems that different cultures CAN CO-EXIST!!!!!😅👍👟🐪 You have shown us a culture and part of society we never had seen before.
