You can tell she's living every bit of it by the way she sings and her expressions. Not only she is one hell of a singer (probably the best, honestly) but she's also an accomplished musician and writer. Not many of her colleagues can compare.

Then you need to listen more music. As you say she's the only one that you know, but actually she's not the only women in Metal scene with high ramge voice, there are others. Undergroud and in the market.
I've been listening more closely to Floor for a couple of years now, and I can really tell that she's the best singer now days in the world, not only metal.
Why the best metal female singers are only from Netherlands? Floor Jansen, Sharon den Adel, Charlotte Wessels, Simone Simons... So small country and so many talent there!

Interesting point. But think that "Ghost Love Score" (or "Ghost Love Floor", as is known) is a pro video. IDK but I think the people of Nightwish (including Tuomas) liked that "Floor, Floor!" Chant at the end. If not, it could easily been removed. I think they want her to stay. When I say that I don't want to is cause of ReVamp, Great band. But if she stay with Nightwish, then GREAT... I'm just a Floor Jansen fan. (Sorry for any mistake, english is not my first language)
@Creativinity7 Tarja didnt do that first female operatic vocals were first performed in Celtic Frost's 'Necromantical Screams' (1985), combined with male vocals also,the doom metal band 'the 3rd and the mortal' has exclusively used female operatic vocals earlier than nightwish. check out their song 'commemoration' which was released in 1996 but definetely nightwish used this kind of vocals in a unique way: oceanborn is my fave album still i prefer floor over tarja, for her passion as u mentioned
Sorry guys, Tarja is great and she did do it first. But just because you do it first doesn't mean you do it best. Floor is today's Nina Hagen. Rockin' vocals, out of this world passionate singing.
I have a doubt she'll stay with Nightwish anyway (though unlike you, I want her to stay with them) after watching their latest live video, hearing the people scream FLOOR FLOOR FLOOR instead of NIGHTWISH. I have a feeling Tuomas will not like that, I feel that he'll kick Floor out eventually now that she's starting to loved by the fans more than Tuomas himself
To hell with Tuomas. He already screwed up with choosing Anette as a singer and making more poppish songs. Floor doesn't need Nightwish, but Nightwish needs Floor.
But Floor litterly saved Nightwish, because she can sing Tarja's songs, and she can bring more brutal stuff into the band. Tuomas is not never ending sea of ideas, now it's Floor's time
I can't wait until Floor is with a band that can match her talent. I hope she's on the next Nightwish album and the break can help Tuomas stop writing the same boring progressions.
