Did you ever do the Golf vs Golf city compare video? I can’t find it. I’m wanting to do a 2009 golf city front swap onto my 2003 Jetta wagon. Just need to know what to grab from the donor and if I need the rad support.
Good day, I would like to ask if it would be possible to somehow send this jetta ancestor to the Czech Republic, please? or is it an impossible thing? I might take the whole car. thank you for your reply 🙂
Yes that’s the plan, I’ve got an entire front and rear clip from a golf city and I still have this Jetta city yet. I’m hoping to do a condensed video with some side by side comparisons between the 4 models.
Do you know if the splash shields (under engine cover) are the same in both mk4 and the city? I have a city golf in Europe and as it was offered only in Canada and South America not sure if the splash shield from the “original” version would fit in.
I can’t say for certain, I’ve never had mk4 or a city with the splash shield on still, usually gets ripped off in snow or a shop removes it and doesn’t re-install it. I’d imagine it would fit the same I’m just not sure if it’ll still go into the bumper the same way
Yeah the city jettas and golfs were very base model. There were a few different variations but all had just the 2L non-turbo. It was supposed to be an economy car.
@@ricardolandgrave2532 our regular gli didn’t come with heated seats either. But yes they are awesome in the winter time, especially with the tdi taking awhile to warm up
Yeah it’ll fit, but you’ll want the bumper too as there’s nowhere to attach your plate then. The taillights are different if your going with the bumper as well and they aren’t bolt on
Jetta or golf city? Jetta city will need the rad support swapped but it’s plug and play, the golf city is the same as mk4 so you just need the body parts.
@@JoshsJettas it’s a city. i got it all swapped with junk yard parts for now till i can find better stuff. problem i’m having is the headlights plug in but don’t power on? maybe i just got some bad lights. but the new lights are different because the bulbs don’t individually plug into the housing. the mk4 lights just have the one wire and connector that plug in and the rest is built into the light housing you know what i mean? i’ve heard you need a adapter or something? any help is appreciated.
@@ricardolandgrave2532 wow I learn something new everyday, it does tilt but it’s no longer on the car so I can’t test it. Is it a mechanical pull or a switch?
@@JoshsJettas I actually think it's both. Haven't used one lately but as it tilts all the way, it releases the trunk like a button would and then it doubles as a pull. It's quite cool 😎

Ill be doing one shortly, golf city clip doesn’t require the rad support just the Jetta city
Just bought a 2008 jetta city here in the USA, anyway to get some help on it?
Can you make more videos on this ? Very interested
Hoping to make a few Jetta and golf videos this summer before I sell the cars
Jetta city specifically!
eu consigo transforma o mk4 no city?
e realmente necessario trocar o painel frontal(rad)?

Will you do the same with the Golfs?

City Jetta or Clásico front end on an MK4 would make a great mini Passat lol

Woah it's crazy that you get heated seats but it's Canada so makes sense. I don't think we have those in Mexican clásico. I think the GLI did.

I really like the City Jetta, heh. Illegal to import stateside still.
I’ve seen some on the US pages somehow down there, as well as some swaps
Hey bro do you know if the city mk4 trunk can fit on mk4 regular 2002

@@JoshsJettas ??
I’ll take a look at my lights tonight and see
What lowering springs do I get for a golf city??
Regular mk4 (99-05) springs.
How do you pop the trunk on the city? Key fob only?
Key fob only, they’re no door switch and the fuel switch is in the center console behind the cup holder
Here in Mexico the Clásico which is the MK4.5 has a trunk release rear emblem, you push the top of the VW logo and it becomes a pull
@@JoshsJettas doesn't yours open with the VW logo?

Could you do some mk5 brm tuning tutorials??

Send me an email to joshthring21@live.ca, I’ll send over some stuff that I’ve got. It’ll be a bit before I get back to making videos for the BRM’s.
