Got an odd one in today, 2013 VW Passat CKRA TDI with P0401 EGR insufficent flow and P240F EGR system response too slow. I believe the dealer replaced the Nox sensor to repair the P2201 NOx sensor 1 bank 1 implausible signal but it came back as well. Up today were doing some rocker replacements on a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. The rocker panel (sometimes referred to as a sill panel) is the same on both the Jetta and golfs so replacement will be the same.     Thanks Josh for the video ! I have an oil cooler housing leak, but oil is in my coolant reservoir ( full of black oil). While taking the air box off I saw oil all under it on back side, also look like some in the air filter hose and bottom hose looks soaked. Will an oil cooler housing leak cause all that ? How can I safely clean of that oil too ? Thanks

    Yup... having this problem. I think it's a corroded button in the outside door handle. Doesn't work on driver side (or anywhere). Hoping not a messy kessy

    Could one culprit be the door lock switch on the outside handle? My battery drain started happening when the external lock button on driver door (left side USA) stopped working. I looked at a used handle, I got from eBay -- I payed off the button cover from the outside and saw the surface mounted tactile button was corroded and now a dead short. I remove the button, sanded the contacts, then tested it on my door's harness and it appears the battery drain stopped. I couldn't read all the code with my Innova scanner even with the VW VAGCOM upgrade.

      It looks like it might be the CP4 disaster prevention kit, limiting injection pump failure to just the pump and return line rather than the entire fuel system

    I got my plate a month ago, I may try installing it today, my passat with ckra looks to have room to add my cat filter infront of the oem filter so I can use both, I think a simple solution to know if my filter is plugging, a pressure switch to ground, run the wire and splice into my oil pressure switch wire, I think 50 psi should work, then if I ever have less than 50 between the cat filter and the cp4, my oil pressure warning would come on in the dash. Simple cheap and no need to add anything in the dash.

      I did it individually as I figured some people remove the cooler/some don’t, some remove the hp egr valve and asv/some don’t. What would you want in the full kit option? 3 egt sensors, exhaust flap sensor, 2 differential sensors and O2 sensor?

    While it does happen, people make these pumps to be way worse than they actually are. Maintenance is KEY. Make sure you're getting the best fuel, regularly changing your fuel filters, and running an additive for additional lubricity. My CKRA passat at 325k works excellent and is on its original HPFP. Definitely will be doing the kit though! Hopefully get plently more life out of it!

      I still haven’t been able to source a failed pump if that gives you any indication. I think the main thing is the cost catches people eyes, you won’t hear about the 99 that run fine but the 1 that fails will be everywhere

      I’ll have to edit that, I did notice the Donaldson cross reference filters were advertised as 3 or 4 micron. I’ll probably switch to them on the next interval, had to use the Cat filters for the thumbnail

    Hi there, my engine has a tick at an odd interval and when I check the belt, it has no lettering on it. Car is at 138k. Think I should be getting this changed? Got it used

      I would, pretty common for people to either dump the car when it’s due or they weren’t aware of the service interval and never got it done. It gets expensive if it fails

    I have done the timing belt on the ALH and BRM. It's crazy that you don't need to make any cam sprocket adjustments with VCDS. I am not complaining, though. Thanks for the informative video.

    Max fuel temp is 130c, tried a bunch of resistors and the ecu wont read over 130. I think its best to stay just below this as sometimes the ecu doesnt like the sensor being maxed and will sense a fault putting it back to the default temp of 40c 👍

    They know what they are doing when they design cars. They don't want them to last. Especially trucks the entire steel is exposed and finished in 7 years if it wasn't cared for.

      They have definitely gotten worse, you see 5 year old trucks with bubbling rockers/cab corners. Same thing with the foam in the fenders only on tdi models for “sound deadening”. Every TDI you see has the top of the arch rotted out because of it

    I just did this repair a week ago and used your video as guidance. I Posted a comment but I didn’t see it so I’ll try again. Definitely a bugger getting the hose clamps off! And don’t forget to re install the dip stick 😂. Any way I used a febi bilstein housing hopefully it holds up . Great content for us diy and new to tdi guys, 😊 thanks !

      Glad it helped, some are positioned perfectly and some they must’ve been laughing at the factory knowing how much of a pain it’ll be to get at once in the car. I’ve used febi mostly with hood luck, I’d like to try the aluminum version if anyone can keep it in stock.

    Josh, I did the Rawteck .5 stage delete several years ago. If I’m understanding your video correctly, that low pressure EGR housing is completely un-needed now? Was the sensor cancelled by the tune? This started out as a simple turbo rebuild, now I think I’m seeing a bunch of worthless parts that got left on my engine.

      The cooler doesn’t need to be there anymore no, quite easy to remove once the turbos off. You will need to plug the inlet housing into the turbo somehow thoigh

    Better than the tire wrap, push out that pin and tap it for 6mm bolt. Cut off those 4 spikes that are supposed to hold that plastic in, then get a 6mm socket head cap screw and washer and bolt it in. I add blue lock tite and have never had one come loose.

    Thanks for video.... I am looking at my DPF replacement. I think I will tackle it. The cost to replace is $3800 to $4000 by shop. Parts will $2000. Also mine being 2010 the dealer said NO, they don't work on cars older than 2012. Not that I would go to dealer. I pushed them. The dealer after I pressed said they would look at it and work on it if car is in good condition, which it is. Again I avoid dealers unless under warranty which my car is way beyond. My independent VW Audi Porsche shop will do it....I know the shop and owners well, so likely they will work on it for a long time to come. They do good work and slightly cheaper than dealer. I plan on keeping it another 10-15 yrs. No reason it will not be a great reliable car, but the emissions is a long term maintenance issue. It works great but from time to time needs to cloned, replaced. The other option is removing the emission system, which s is not commended for legal and resale reasons. Also to do so cost as much as a new DPF. A DPF should go 120K to 240K depending on how you drive.

    Hey Josh I’ve been watching your videos and wanna delete my 2015 Jetta TDI.Full delete kit and tune what do you recommend?

      I’ve done videos both with MR Tuning and tunezilla, I’d recommend both. The 2015’s require a specific coolant line as well so you have to make sure the delete pipe comes with that as well.

      There’s a stainless egr line that comes with the 15 specific kit. As long as you order it for the 2015 you should be set

    is 25 hp be easy on DSG and the engine than 55hp tune? (MR tuning) or longevity doesn't really matter whether u do 55hp or 25hp??

      Maybe a little bit, I’d still run the 55hp tune and just drive sensibly
