      As was LVD's voiceover, it went as if he didn't cut about 20 seconds out of the video there... The Storm count jumped from 10 to 19, if you look closely.

    Something interesting I noticed @20:00 : As you pointed out, you could have generated an arbitrarily high storm count and amount of colorless mana, the problem being that the soul warden gives mrmvp888 that much extra life as well. But when you said that you didn't have a card to discard, you actually did: the Ignus itself! After sufficient storm and mana is achieved, you could start flashing back faithless lootings to hopefully find a Grapeshot. If you did, you could wipe their board and reset their life total to somewhere around 21-25 (depending on how many faithless lootings you cast). It wouldn't be a particularly good line of play I reckon, since you'd lose the Ignus (you have to discard it) as well as use up 1 Grapeshot. I feel like it's worth mentioning though since without their soul warden, this line would have been game-winning, and with at least 6 draws you have a decent chance of finding the grapeshot... and even if you don't find it, at least you effectively surveil 6 and can simply replay the Ignus. My apologies for the long comment, but I figured illustrating that line of play could help win other games where the opponent doesn't have a soul warden.

    Match 3 you had game. +1 C every time you looped Ignis, and +6 R every third cast on the two steamkin, with Hazoret's monument letting you wheel through your deck for grapeshot

      We can only cast Ignus twice before we run out of red mana, so Steam-Kin never goes off.

    They could implement an infinity loop thing. You just have to have a small listener process on your own actions that apply different rules to see if it is currently an infinite loop, then a prompt asking players how many times and boom. It's a bit precise code wise but doable.

      You say it's a bit precise but doable--do you have a code snippet to show the general idea? My gut reaction is that it's actually not that simple without hardcoding specific instances of every single infinite combo, which would be foolish and produce spaghetti code. That said, I'd love to see it if anyone has a functional C# implementation.

      @@defiantparsnip if there is a repeatable action? If you can do the same action 2x-3x times and nothing changes to the first time, that lowers access, then you go and get a prompt "how many?"
      There is no need for a exact template, you just record actions and look for repeats. It does not look that hard to me. But, i dont have any idea on C#
      Would have to use AI for that^^

      @@defiantparsnip I do feel like it has to be possible to basically check if after a certain number of steps you reach a similar game state (with only changes such as life increasing, storm increasing mana in pool increasing) and then basically allow to select a number for one of these changes. Then you could either have something like a macro auto run the sequence, or just jump to the state with the selected number. Maybe the player has to activate it, so it doesn't just consume computing power constantly in the background. It wouldn't capture all infinite combos, but it would make most way easier. Though the complexity to implement this depends very much on how they actually handle game states on the back end.
      Another option would be to implement some of the features of MTGO, such as auto yields for certain triggers that can be selected by the players. That would make some games more bareble in general.

      I mean they cant even make the game function properly. If i have audio enabled while minimized it still cuts and freezes a bunch when i alt tab lol. The most basic functions they struggle to make.

    this interaction makes me really wish more support was available for Witherbloom Aprentice for its version of storm. The payoff gatling gun is so much speedier and more satisfying! I really wish arena would speed up the grape shot bolt animations.

    My old build of this deck used to use underworld breach, which could be a good sideboard option in slower matchups or matchups with a lot of removal for your stuff. I think historic too fast for that anymore but eh it used to work for me running a very similar style of deck. Also used to use the various red cantrips instead of the exile effects, which was better for filling the graveyard in the first place as well.

    the song on the first match its 10/10 , love it ..... I have a question an hopefully you can help. I have a deck based on Song of creation combo with either Grapeshot or Glint-horn and 20 cards 0 mana so 80% of the time I win with this deck. The only issue I have is the timeout. I am pretty fast with my fingers when I play the combo, but either I get the the hourglass and all the cards go to my graveyard and I basically pass the turn without doing nothing, otherwise I just automatically get the "defeat" on my screen. Would you be so kind to help please as you have grapeshot in this deck too and maybe you faced the same issue. Thanks

    impulse draw is key for this deck as it's the only way to show you're opponent you have a grapeshot ready while comboing

    16:25 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you go infinite here by casting the Ignus 3 times and then gaining triple red from steam?

      I don't think he can cast Ignus 3 times.
      RRR in the pool
      Cast Ignus, R in the pool. 1 counter on Steamkin
      Return Ignus to hand, RCC in pool.
      Cast Ignus. C in pool, 2 counters on Steamkin.
      Then he can't return it to hand because that costs R.

      He could have done:
      RRR in pool
      Cast other Steamkin (Sk2). RR in pool, 1 counter on Sk1.
      Impulse. R in pool. 2 counters on Sk1, 1 counter on Sk2. Hope to hit a card for R.
      Cast other R card. 3 counters on Sk1, 2 on Sk2.
      Use 3 on Sk1 for RRR.
      Cast Ignus. R in pool, 3 on Sk2, 1 on Sk1.
      Use Sk2. RRRR in pool.
      Ignus to hand. RRRRCC in pool.
      Cast Ignus. RRRC in pool. 2 on Sk1, 1 on Sk2.
      Return Ignus. RRRCCC in pool.
      Cast Ignus. RRCC in pool. 3 on Sk1, 2 on Sk2.
      Use Sk1. RRRRRCC in pool and I think it's a loop at this point.
      At some point play Monument to dig through the deck for the Grapeshot. He'd have 1 card in hand so it would work.
      That's pretty convoluted though and it's way easier to see when not playing. Also it would need to hit a card off the first Impulse.

    At ~44:00 when you're debating whether to play Birgi, couldn't you make mana with the Steamkin by replaying the Ignus multiple times and then combo off from there?

    such a cool deck. i love storm and was kind of sad that 1) ruby storm did terrible at the pro tour and that 2) it couldn't be played on arena. this version is very inventive! also I must say I always love your attitude and your demeanor when you play. so calm, no emotion, just observing the board and making the best play.

      Keep in mind that the Deck did so poorly in the Pro Tour because, literally, it became the most popular deck BEFORE the Pro Tour. So everyone, in consequence, expected that Ruby Storm would make the most appearance in the Pro Tour, which in turn, would prepare everything with that expectation totally in mind (you only need to look at the sideboard of the Top 64 players to realize this). And what happens most of the time when that's the case? The Deck would suffer in the Swiss Rounds (since everyone was prepared to deal with it) unless the player prepares a lot of tools to counter the counters or the Deck have so much power to brute force through those counters (which is the case of Mono Black Necro)

    any good idea for sideboard BO3 to not instantly concede to Leyline of Sanctity pregame? chaos warp is the only that comes to mind, exept for effects like Karns Sylex

      You could play Wish to get answers out of the board or splash for other Storm winconditions that make creature tokens for instance.

    Game one reminded me the last time you played this deck where you got lucky and exiled Grapeshot off the top of your library using Chandra after going infinite because you had no cards in hand and that was your only out

    Infinite combos on arena are not like they are in paper… I had to click through an entire Fiend Hunter, Goblin Bombardment, Sun Titan combo…. So many clicks

      The deck is built a lot differently than the Modern counterpart with more creatures and no access to all the ritual effects. So while Ral is legal it didn't quite fit in this build.

    grinning ignis gos infinite with runaway steamkin you just cast over and over make as much mana as you want put most your deck in the grave till you hit an X mana spell with flashback and cast it from the grave to burn out the other player, past in flames and devil's play would be good ones to discard to the hazoret monument.

      It only works if we have enough red mana to begin with since Steam-Kin doesn't give our mana back until the third time we cast Ignus.

      @@user-zx5gz1rd1q Two reducers by themselves aren’t enough as you will still run out if red mana. You need red to cast Ignus and to activate, but you only get one red mana in return.

    Ive been playing around with charbelcher, and brotherhoods end works pretty well in a lot more matchups than you would think. Useless against control, so basically only a sideboard card, but seems to work pretty well against decks like this. Can kill the raptor, ignus, birgi, steam-kin, and destroys medallion and monument. Doesnt work as well if theyve already seen it, because you can play around it, but if they are playing around it, then you have a lot more time to charbelcher them
