So the reason the textures in the distance are default is because of mipmapping - also, the textures present in this version are actually an existing texture pack from all the way back in 2011! An individual on the MCArchives discord server identified them a year or two back, but I’m not sure what the pack is called now. They were not present in the original beta, they were modified in by whoever the person who leaked this version were. We know this because there’s actually footage of this version of the game floating around - this was the very same version that a select few folks got the chance to play at an event (E3? Minecon? I don’t remember.) several months prior to the game’s launch which is also likely how the leaker got their hands on it in the first place. I remember when this dropped, it was April or late February of 2012. You bet your ass I was booting up my JTAG 360 and playing Minecraft several months before anyone else had it available!
Fun fact, the Xbox arcade edition of minecraft used to have volumetric lighting. I'm assuming it was removed because they had started trying to convert the game to the current windows bedrock edition, but idk if they were even making bedrock yet.
I believe that pocket edition *was* in dev. For those who don't know, Pocket edition would become Bedrock (imo the worst Minecraft version) which would replace the Legacy Console editions.
That doesn't make sense, Console Edition and Bedrock have no relation beyond there having been a promotion where owning CE gave you a free digital copy of BE(The promotion ran out for everything besides PS4 without any warning tho, which kinda sucks.)

There’s a lot more you can do in Xenia beyond just license masking. You can adjust the game’s frame rate without causing issues like you might with other games, and you can also change the internal resolution. I can show you how to do this in your Discord.

I remember using it a lot on creative, tho this does look a tiny but different from it, things like the torches and doors still looks the same! I might boot up my xbox later and see if I can find the name of it. Maybe they were testing texture packs this early in development? If so, thats nuts and some cool history!

Sorry to 4J, but I don't think anywhere near as many people would have played and enjoyed Console Edition if they hadn't used Java's original textures. These do not fit with Minecraft at all
@@scuzzzbag I'm not really sure how a modded xbox 360 really works since it's basically unaccessible for me because there's only hardmods for it, but it might be as easy as other consoles by just installing the game and putting on an usb stick and loading it with some app edit: I did a small bit of research on it, all you need is XeXMenu and I think Aurora and an usb stick
@@scuzzzbag if i remember right jtags can run custom apps right? if so use Aurora and get the beta xex. once you get into Aurora and set paths to detect games. minecraft should show up on the main screen of Aurora. Press X to open up extra settings, go to the arrow button and press left on the d-pad until you find settings. once in there choose XBLA unlocking and spoofing. That will make the game be read as fully owned. (i do not know if this works on jtag as i am on a RGH)

Minecraft on PS5 is still the PS4 version, Mojang never made an advanced version like the X|S consoles
