Hi everyone! 👋We just want to say thank you all so, so much for all of your comments here. Sorry we can't reply to you all, but we are reading as many as possible. We can't get over the love and support you lovely bunch are sending our way right now!!🥰It means so much to us! Seems you all love Alan as much as we do! 🥲B & E xx
You have done the absolute right thing for Alan. I understand very much how sad you both are and how much you miss her. We love our furbabies and understand them. Alan will be happier now in her older years. Thank you for being so good to her. She is one of a kind and a super pusscat. Well done both of you and thanks to your mum and step dad. Xx Pru
Best decision. Animal lovers always put their pet's needs first, and you have. Alan will have her second half of life in quiet retirement, and you will always be part of her life. ❤❤❤
I’ve never commented before but I have watched every video!! You have done the right thing !! Don’t cry Emily you’ll start us all off ! She’ll be happy in Norfolk ( I am !! ) you can see her when you visit , you’ll get used to the boat with out her hard though it is ! Sending hugs !
Aww thanks so much 🥰I've just been crying again reading the comments 🥲Yeah she's relaxed, happy and content now, we couldn't be happier for her, it's just hard for us humans 😌x
So true Clare my sediments to Emily and Ben as well… I have a little family of cats and Home 22 since I moved and built this house here… I kept to Lord Grantham and Lady Edith to keep precious. My one eyed cat that looks a lot like Allen company. But then I got two new puppies with my little Chihuahua and she likes to stay up on the kitchen table. I’ve asked her if she’d like to be a boat cat. I don’t think so. She can’t even face the puppies and she used to wander all over the place and sleep with me. It’s difficult adjustment for animals especially cats. Don’t feel bad Emily you did the right thing. It is hard on us because we love them. It’s like when Wes and Amy lost their sweet little bunny. You will adjust and yay for MoM because I am a mom and the more we get to see our babies the better we are. Blessings all over you both. ❤
Hi guys, I am a "stuck in with you guys" person, and finally have to comment on your collective decision to give Alan a better life. Pets are like part of your body, you get to know their personalities, their feelings and whether they are "off" or not, much like having children but better! I know from how you present yourselves that you have made an incredible sacrifice by giving Alan a home that is still within reach for you, and having to do without her yourselves. How careful and unselfish is that?, to give up someone who is family at the cost of missing the input of loving her and be loved right back like a child would and being yourselves regarded as her property! That decision must have hurt in a way that would have you doubt your love for her! The good thing is that Alan can love her new family which she would do naturally anyway, and have a healthier existence and probably live longer. I talk alot when I'm unchained lol. You have done a beautiful thing in making the decision to give her back her health! And you can still see her to boot! You have my respect for your respect for Alan, and God will lick the pencil tip and mark you down for a blessing, he does wonderful things for wonderful people. May He bless you richly for your kind concern for Alan! A follower to the hilt! Music included. John.
Who would take a cat and make it live on a small boat which moves all the time in deep water and is constantly under the threat of random dogs and members of the public? You messed up, no big deal, we all do sometimes. Just own it instead of trying to wordsmith a teary story about how its sad for you.
Oh Emily, I really felt for you when you started to cry. Let them be happy tears as you have so done the right thing for Alan. Hard decision for you both but right for Alan. Sending you both the biggest hugs. Clare & Roy xxxx
I regularly tell people about the video where she sat in the bowl with the dough in! It's a shame but at least she's somewhere you know she's happy and cats do prefer a routine and security when they get older. All of our cats growing up would end up at my nans house out in the countryside when they got older and I think many of them actually lived a lot longer because of it! You'll just have to get Ben in an Alan coloured furry suit and he can be stand-in Alan on quiet content days! :D
I shed a tear for you both seeing how upset you are. 😢 You have done what is right for Allen, so please don’t be so hard on yourselves. She will have a lovely happy retirement with your mum & step dad, and the best part is, you will be able to visit her & give her cuddles & belly rubs. If anyone wants to unsubscribe, it will be their loss. You are such a lovely caring couple, & your travel & music vlogs are a delight. So chin up, keep doing what you are doing & keep smiling. We love you! 💕🇨🇦
If Alan could speak to you I am sure she would say Thank You for loving me so much to let me go and live where I am happiest. Good Luck with the transition, it takes time.
I took my mothers cat after my moms passing. That cat had been in the family for years. I was working so much to pay the bills, the cat was alone all day. I gave her to a neighbour. It hurt so much, BUT that cat is so spoiled with love and fuss now throughout the day! I made the right choice and so have you. It's a non selfish act that you've both made.
I've often marveled at the fact she is never disappears when you're in a new place as cats establish a territory. She seamed to love cruising but cats are strange and I guess she was ready to stay in one place. I had a cat for 16 years before he died and it is hard to face life without them. I'm happy she is in a place she loves and you can visit her.
Ben and Emily - you definitely made the right decision and for the benefit of Allen . Cats do like their fixed terra firma territory ,consistent and familiar surroundings . Youve been lucky for a good few years .. but with dogs on towpath it was always a threat that one day .. a dog off a lead could lunge for Allen and possibly kill her and that was clearly stressing her . Shes at your Mums and that is another reason to see more of your Mum - Emily . So killing two birds with one stone with seeing your mum , stepdad and Allen . I guess youre folks could do videos and link it to your site - to show how shes doing . To conclude , I know you both are going through it emotionally , but its the right choice .. just think if she was hurt by a dog .. you would have been beside yourselves ... and shes with your mum .. she will live a very long healthy life ! Chin up and keep smiling !
Crumbs I for one am so relieved Alan is fine! I was worried something awful had happened regards her health… and all the time she was purring her head off at your mums living her new best life I think its very brave of you both to let her stay there given how much a part of your lives she is… best decision ever for her..I am petrified of dogs and can’t imagine being 10 inches tall and dealing with them.. hugs to you all 😻
Such a shock, I held it together until that last shot of Alan purring and then the tears flowed. God bless, Alan - and thank you for all the adventures we have had with you.
What breaks my heart even more about this video is that you felt you felt you needed to worry about how we would all react. That there are people in this world who would say anything nasty about it is so sad. You are one of my top three favorite RUclips channels to watch, and still will be. We’ll all be so sad and miss Alan terribly, but you did exactly the right thing. She looks so happy in her little hedgehog garden! ~an introvert making her first RUclips comment… this was important. Lol!
I’m so sorry to hear the sad news about Alan but I’m glad she’s not ill, I was worried that she’d got some horrible illness. She will be missed in the videos but at least you’ll still be able to see her. Cats are territorial and she hadn’t really got one traveling around, maybe as she’s got older she senses that she’s going to be less able to escape from dogs on the towpath. She looks very happy at your mums, and I feel so sorry for you both, you’re both very good cat parents to put her first. I look forward to seeing updates as and when you’re able to. Take care, lots of love. xxxx
Thank you, Phil. Our batteries are just over 4 years old and with declining solar this Autumn, we noticed a deterioration in capacity for the first time. I have to say we’ve looked after them fastidiously, never letting them drop below 12.4 volts. I reckon if we can nurse them through the winter.(No ‘fridge, only candles and fairy lights and only charge devices during the day) they’ll get through to next summer. Fridge can then go back on but next Autumn probably looking at new batteries🙁
It's so good to hear that you are looking at the situation from the cat's point of view, responding to her needs. There are so many people who have cats and don't understand them. Heart-warming to hear.
Grandies love being with their grandparents and Alan is no different. You are both true pet owners, thinking what is best for your pet. Alan is going to love her twilight years with your mum and you can visit and FaceTime😊. Hugs❤
❤ my heart is with you. ❤but I am so so so happy she’s with your family. Right now your mom is giving all the love she has for you to your cat. It may very well be good for booth your mom and your cat. ❤ so your cat is also giving love from you to your mom. I love you booth so much more.
My cat came within a whisker of getting torn apart by a couple dogs. You’ve made a brave and compassionate decision and I will certainly keep watching! You may end up with another boat-cat now that Alan has retired.
Hi Ben and Emily. It’s the right decision for Alan that’s what matters. You’ll miss her but you know she’s much happier. Sending you both hugs 🥰 Take care. Nick
As someone who has cared for cats all through my life I totally understand how you feel. But you have made a brave and right decision in Alan’s best interest. Would love to see the occasional Alan update. Much love to you both.
Totally smart decision! We know you'll miss having her around... But knowing she's happy at mum's will give you the peace of mind you need to continue your travels ... We totally support you guys! Hugs to Alan from all of us! Love you guys! p.s. Didn't know Ben was allergic!
Oh guys... my heart goes out to you both, and Emily you're making me cry 2 ❤️ You've 1000% made the right call... after all, isn't that what love is, putting another's needs before you're own... you've done this, and we'll keep enjoying watching you both because you are both such lovely/ groovy human beings and so so enjoyable to watch. Thanks for opening up your lives for us to be a part of. Lots of love you two x
Loved meeting Alan a couple of years ago and she's such a character. It's sad that she no longer enjoys her boat life, but you've put Alan's mental and physical health first and for that I applaud you. I so glad to hear she's feeling settled and happy at Emily's mum's. 😸
Oh that's so understandable. And so sad but you've done the right thing. We can see how much she is loved. Plus she's with family. Bless you both. 🕊️💐💓💓Xxx
I know I will miss seeing Alan, but you have done what is best for her. She had an wonderful life as a boat cat and has now retired to a sunny garden to nap and relax. Best wishes for all three of you.
Aww. We love watching your videos and will miss Alan in them with you. She's a senior kitty now but healthy and cudos to you for being excellent cat parents and making this decision as hard as it's been for you both. ❤
Well done you two to realise it is more important for Alan to be happy and content in another familiar environment. Always hard to say goodbye to a pet but be happy with the thought of having a more relaxed surroundings👍
You have done the kindest thing. So hard for you both, and how lovely that you will be visiting your Mum more now. ❤ You're lovely, and I won't stop watching...
You did the right thing. You scarifced your love and happiness for Allen's happiness. She is still alive and thriving. We lost our dog last year and will never be able to hug him again. You got lots of ywars to hug Allen every time you visit him ❤
You definitely made the right decision for Alan. As they get older it’s like all of us, we become more fragile. No one should unsubscribe or be hateful when you are doing the best for her ❤
A real tearjerker. Bless you both. We love Alan and we love you two as well. You've got her best interest at heart and you've definitely done the right thing. Sending lots of love 'n' hugs. Take care ❤❤❤
Look on the bright side, Alan’s in a safe place and will be loved. Yes it’s hard for you two and you will miss her, but all things come to an end, but you’ve had ten happy years being owned by Alan. She has had a wonderful time afloat and seeing lots of different places.
Bless you both ❤ Definitely the right decision. We had an indoor cat a while back. He seemed so lonely looking out of the windows 2 floors up. We re homed him (Cosmo). To a nunnery 😀 If anyone does unsubscribe....shame on them. Hugs from the rainy isle of wight ❤
Such a selfless act , putting her well being before your needs just goes to show what a loving couple you are . Rejoice in the great times spent together . I pray your hurt gets easier.🙏🙏 Alans happy yey.👏
What a lovely thing to do for Alan. When you love your animals, you do the best for them, and you certainly have. I shed a tear for you both but Alan's having the best life hope you do to. Xx
I feel for you, it's heartbreaking having to wake up without her but you've done the best thing for Alan, she'll be warm & safe & happy to live in a house. Xx
It is such a joy watching you. You are both such kind, loving, compassionate people - at least that's how it comes across 😉. I have an senior cat, 14 years old, only one eye, and only 4 teeth. This past July, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney disease. I know what it's like to have a cat in your life and how much we love them. Jack, my cat, is now on a special diet and has improved to a Stage 2! I know that his days with us are numbered, but we accept that. Jack was my daughter's cat (so I guess that makes me Jack's grandmother), and when she had to move into a place that didn't accept cats, he come to live with us. I laughed when you said that you only saw your mum 2 twice a year, but would be seeing more of her now. Cats can be good collateral for getting visits. I don't have grandchildren, but I have 2 other grandcats, Judy and Bean. My hubby is not a tv watcher (and I watch RUclips on the tv), but Jack is on my lap, or sitting beside my in the chair when I do. He and I will continue to follow you on your adventures and we wish Alan a very happy retirement in the garden. Watching you, and others like you, make the world we live in a little bit smaller and connected. Warmest wishes from me, and Jack, in Victoria BC Canada PS Benny, the soundtrack you provide is beautiful as the views that you show us on your travels.
Bless you both, I'd be gutted too. It's like you said you know your own animals and what they need to be happy. Well done for being selfless and putting Alan first.
You have done the right thing for Alan - it’s a hard decision but the kindest. You know she’ll be spoilt and happy, and you can visit regularly. Be kind to yourselves ❤
I am convinced that you did the right thing when it comes to Alan, 100% ! ❤ Something I wanted to tell you for a long time is that we had a cat looking exactly like Alan., and the funny thing is that her name was Alan's name backwards.... namely Nala ❤ Always felt related to the three of you because of that 😅😅❤
I have an Alan lookalike, called Rolo who's almost 17, can't imagine the emotions you went through to make the decision but well done both, you did it for her because you love her 😻 . Sending hugs from me and meows from Rolo xxx
You've done the right thing. It is upsetting but at least you can still visit her. She looked very content and happy in that last sleepy, purring clip and that is the most important thing.
Oh, what a relief!! I thought it was going to be the worst news. You've done the right thing. You can give a little update now & then. Cats are territorial, so she'll be much happier having a place of her own. 😊
You're doing the right thing for Alan and that's what's most important. Much as you will miss her, it be less stressful for you, knowing she is somewhere that she loves and none of you will be worrying about dogs or roads etc. We would love updates and occasional Alancam :)
Hey! You are being good humans by thinking of Alan's wellbeing first. I will continue to watch your videos. All my love to your extended family for taking care of our beloved feline.
You did what was best for Alan and you know she is happy and loved. I commend you both on your selflessness and putting her first. Sending you both a huge hug xx
We will all miss Allen's antics and lovely purrs. But her safety and well being are most important. You are good pet parents to let her live with your folks❤
🥲B & E xx
❤
You made the right decision, because an animal's welfare should always come first. Well done for being two absolutely top human beings. Love to you.
Thank you ❤
So true, it is very important and these guys are amazing humans ❤
You have done the absolute right thing for Alan. I understand very much how sad you both are and how much you miss her. We love our furbabies and understand them. Alan will be happier now in her older years. Thank you for being so good to her. She is one of a kind and a super pusscat. Well done both of you and thanks to your mum and step dad. Xx Pru
You put Alan’s health first, so you have most definitely done the right thing 🫡😟😥
Thank you ❤️
Don't be sad. You are giving Allen the best life for her. That shows how much you care for her. 💖😺⛵🐬
So sorry guys, loved seeing Alan’s adventures with you. Happy to hear how well settled she is with Emily’s Mum ❤
Thanks so much ❤️ Yeah, she is doing so well now 😻
The best fur parent is always the one that looks out for what is best for their fur baby.
I regularly tell people about the video where she sat in the bowl with the dough in!

Absolutely the right decision for Alan. Well done for prioritising what is best for her. Happy retirement Alan😊
I took my mothers cat after my moms passing. That cat had been in the family for years. I was working so much to pay the bills, the cat was alone all day. I gave her to a neighbour. think of it like this Alan has retired
Hehehe, yes thats what we've been saying 🥲She seems to be having the best retirement so far! 😻
A new chapter in Alan's wonderful long life. She now the queen of your mum house. Just like she was/and still is the queen of the canal

Alan’s health comes first, loved seeing Alan but hey guys we love you two as well xx
So sad, but the best for Alan. 😢

it might have been when Alan finally found out that you had given her a blokes name , you know how other cats talk .
I’m so sorry to hear the sad news about Alan but I’m glad she’s not ill, I was worried that she’d got some horrible illness. Awe! It's OK kids. 🙏🩷🩵🐾😺🌸🌼💐
Shed a tear with you watching this. Love cats and so glad the news wasn’t a health issue.
It's so good to hear that you are looking at the situation from the cat's point of view, responding to her needs. There are so many people who have cats and don't understand them. Heart-warming to hear.

As someone who has cared for cats all through my life I totally understand how you feel. But you have made a brave and right decision in Alan’s best interest. Would love to see the occasional Alan update. Much love to you both.
Bless you both!
You’re top pet owners putting her needs before your own even when it hurts
Sending love and hugs 🧡🫂
Totally smart decision! We know you'll miss having her around... But knowing she's happy at mum's will give you the peace of mind you need to continue your travels ... We totally support you guys! Hugs to Alan from all of us! Love you guys! p.s. Didn't know Ben was allergic!

You absolutely did the best thing for Allyn. You are being the best parents to your cat, even though it’s hard for you!💜🤗
Loved meeting Alan a couple of years ago and she's such a character. It's sad that she no longer enjoys her boat life, but you've put Alan's mental and physical health first and for that I applaud you. I so glad to hear she's feeling settled and happy at Emily's mum's. 😸
Awe, you’ve done the right thing. I’ll still shout ‘Ahoy Alan!’ when we see you!
So glad that Alan's ok and happy, she will be missed. Thanks for letting everyone know who.
Doing the right thing for someone who you love is never wrong. I have rescues so giving them peace is the best gift.
Sorry for you both. We have happy memories of Alan’s antics over the years especially sitting on top of sour bread dough prep.🙏❤️🇦🇺 10:35
Awwwww guys the fact your cat is at your Mum's for her well being says it all! It's ok guys❤
You have done the kindest thing. So hard for you both, and how lovely that you will be visiting your Mum more now. ❤
You're lovely, and I won't stop watching...
I'm also a cat lover. And I lost my 18 year old cat two years ago. So I understand your sadness. Hugs to you both from Dublin
You did the right thing even though it was hard for you. I will continue to watch. Your videos are quite enjoyable. Hugs to both of you.
Sending lots of love guys. 💕looking forward to seeing Alan and her hedgehog friend in future vlogs.x

Bless you all😊, all of you will be happy again soon. Just keep watching your closing clip just showen.😊❤.
Imagine that she’s having a nice holiday and every now and again you’ll both visit her and she’ll be soooo pleased to see you!🇨🇦
You are great cat patents, putting her well being first. Hope you feel better about it soon.
You did the right thing. You scarifced your love and happiness for Allen's happiness. She is still alive and thriving. We lost our dog last year and will never be able to hug him again. You got lots of ywars to hug Allen every time you visit him ❤
Such a hard decision for you guys but completely the right one. You have put her needs first and that makes you the best cat parents. ❤
You definitely made the right decision for Alan. As they get older it’s like all of us, we become more fragile. No one should unsubscribe or be hateful when you are doing the best for her ❤
Your doing right for alan x
Aww, you've both made the right decision for Alan. I look forward to hearing how she's doing. You two are amazing caring people xx
Aww it's so sad and I really feel for you. But Alan must come first and she's obviously very happy at your mums. Sending hugs xx
Bless you both ❤
Definitely the right decision.
We had an indoor cat a while back.
He seemed so lonely looking out of the windows 2 floors up.
We re homed him (Cosmo). To a nunnery 😀
If anyone does unsubscribe....shame on them.
Hugs from the rainy isle of wight ❤
Such a selfless act , putting her well being before your needs just goes to show what a loving couple you are .
Rejoice in the great times spent together .
I pray your hurt gets easier.🙏🙏
Alans happy yey.👏
You guys are awesome for making this heartfelt decision!
Aw guys you done the right thing, you gave her her best life ,she will be just grand at nanny's, happy days Alan sending love,🫶❤️❤️🐱
Xx
You did the right thing! Lucky Allen to have humans that love him so much.❤️
It is such a joy watching you. Warmest wishes from me, and Jack, in Victoria BC Canada
PS Benny, the soundtrack you provide is beautiful as the views that you show us on your travels.
Bless you both, I'd be gutted too. It's like you said you know your own animals and what they need to be happy. Well done for being selfless and putting Alan first.
I hope nobody sends you hate messages. You are clearly doing what's best for Alan which deserves respect. I'm sending you both a hug 🫂. xx
It’s absolutely the right thing to do and well done to you for putting her first Lucky for your mum Looking for the occasional update
It's the right call. We had a rescue cat, and we had a very unsettled 9 months without a settled home - it basically broke her heart.
We all love Alan and this is the best thing for her , Hope we still see her in future videos...love you guys .❤
Bkess you guys. Fun times with Alan will always be remembered but glad she's come back to life again with your mum
You almost had me in tears, pleased she has a stable home. Pleased keep your excellent vlogs going. You are one happy couple ❤
You have done the right thing for Alan - it’s a hard decision but the kindest. You know she’ll be spoilt and happy, and you can visit regularly. Be kind to yourselves ❤
I will continue to watch, don’t you worry, you are a lovely couple and love your adventures. You have done the right thing.
Never cried so much since my cat ziggy died last year at 19 so Alan should have lots of happy years to come!
What a heart-breaking decision, but it sounds like the best for Alan. That's the most important thing. Best wishes on your travels.x
A big hug from us. Heartbreaking for you but doing what you have done proves how much you love her. You have definitely done the right thing xxx
I am convinced that you did the right thing when it comes to Alan, 100% ! ❤
Something I wanted to tell you for a long time is that we had a cat looking exactly like Alan., and the funny thing is that her name was Alan's name backwards.... namely Nala ❤
Always felt related to the three of you because of that 😅😅❤
Awww I totally feel for you both. I can’t imagine having to make that decision but she is happy 😻❤ sending hugs to you both xx
The cats enjoying life living a cats dream in a safe place even pets need to settle down when they get older , at least you can still visit her ❤
You're doing the right thing for Alan and that's what's most important.
You have absolutely done the right thing. I know its hard but at least she is safe and well, enjoying her retirement. Love you guys ❤
Love you guys, I shed a tear when you cried Emily x you have done the right thing for Alan 😊 loved her purring ❤
