recently purchased an XTool D8, excellent tool, paid $688.00, free shipping. three years free up-dates. bi-directional. excellent tool. 72 years old; simple enough for old man.
Been thinking about picking up one of these and it's funny that you showed the window motor test cause I thought I had a bad motor and it was the switch. The way I had to figure it out before ordering the motor was go to a junkyard and swap out the switch to see if it fixed it. Kind of a pain in the ass ahah.
Scan tools. Where does one stop? I have a few, but last year I bought the first generation of these newer Thinkcar scanners. I bought the Topdon 800BT and it is works very well on my newer cars. It is also probably very similar to the Mucar VO6. Looks like it comes out of the same factory, however mine is not fully bidirectional but.... it offers a lifetime of free up dates. I love the blue tooth dongle set up and the wifi which means that I can down load every thing on line directly to the tool. not like the old system of plugging into the computer. I am also able to send reports to my computer via e Mail and then print out the reports. Well all I can say is that these scanners are getting better and better and what you buy now today will be outdated with newer technology in just a year or two. I have just ordered the new little cheap Mucar CDE 900 for $70 AU which will probably blow most of my cheaper scanners out of the water. It is also wifi with one touch downloads. Unbelievable progress in just a few years. This will be handy to just keep in the boot of one of my cars.
Here in Brazil I see some owners using the Thinkscan Plus S7, where it is possible to carry out tests on actuators, such as the fuel pump relay, fan 1 and 2, and headlight switching. In Mucar vo6, to do this same test do you need to pay a subscription per year or is the test free like the Plus S7 model? How much time does the new version of vo6 give you without needing to subscribe, after taking it out of the box?
The v07 gives you three years. I like this ruclips.net/video/QKNp2bFYcVI/видео.htmlsi=YFjKkwSvpGC2glp- way better than the mucar v06 or v07. It also gives you three years but I keep telling people that even after the service expires unlike the application based tools these scan tools will continue to work. So let’s say you use it for 7 years, the first three will have updates and last 4 won’t but who cars as you will not be working on 2027 vehicles. I hope that makes sense.
@@RANDOMFIX In the Mucar vo6 model, do all service functions that are enabled on first use (after removing from the box) need to be subscribed to after 1 year? A friend showed some functions on the Thinkscan Plus S7 where he tests the instruments panel and activates some relays, all for free.. On the Mucar vo6, is this also free?
@AquinoSamuel depending on the vehicle this active might be available. I don’t know if you can use this function on the mucar v06 v07 but I know you can for the tool sent you a link for earlier.
@@RANDOMFIX , There's a video of a guy testing the Thinkscan Plus S7, where he performs several relay tests ruclips.net/video/IZY0JSjc0y0/видео.htmlsi=K5q-6cpYNcCmyRFL Between 13:15 to 14:40 interval it is possible to activate/deactivate the headlights, the cabin fan and the fuel pump relay. All these tests and functions are free and come with the device. Then, this same guy does these same tests on the same car, but this time he did it using the Mucar Vo6 scanner (between 11:38 to 12:10 interval): ruclips.net/video/_Xicp2VwU9c/видео.htmlsi=3AuNaZByLz4x_5Uk On the Thinkscan Plus S7 it is free, however advertising for Mucar vo6 indicates that active and actuator tests require a subscription fee of 49 USD. Do these tests on vo6 have an expiration date after opening the box? Does it expire after some time of use?
3:35 you said that the Xtool is the only bidirectional scan tool, but at the end of video, you were using the AUCAR as bi-directional 🤔 I got confused. Can you explain?
hello! I lost my keys to my 2014 chevy traverse, do you think some of these scanners can help me program the key and remote that I plan to buy on Amazon? the dealer is very expensive for this service.😢
Would choose this over a thinkcar with same capability? I have a GM truck that I need to program keys for. The dealer has cut them already and they told me they need to be programmed. I also have a Dodge truck with an airbag light on and my OBD reader tells me that it’s during sensor related. I do a lot with vehicles because I buy and sell
If they were both the same Price I would buy this instead ruclips.net/video/Ewky_DsA0MI/видео.html because it is almost the identical tool except it has an optional addon port for expansion. Before you buy this and if the key programming is important to you then email the vendor your vin on all vehicles of interest and ask them for a list of supported features. You may need additional equipment to program keys. Keep me in the loop and good luck with everything.
I have a 2010 Nissan Altima that isn’t picking up speed anymore and I’m trying to buy a scan tool for it to see what exactly is going on I don’t have 700 to 100 dollar for a bi directional one would the aucar scan toll help me with that if I’m on a budget??? Please HELPPP
EDIT I also own a 04 Silverado 1500 and a 05 Toyota Corolla Ce that need some work I would like to get a Obd that would help me with all of these and more trying to be an upcoming auto mechanic and tech and A hobby I love but want to make sure I get the right gear

Larry thank you for sharing your experience using the Xtool d8.

Yeah that’s why it’s good to have these tools as you could of eliminate the motor as a cause. We live and learn my friend. Including me!!!

Agreed, there are so many options, and they keep getting better and cheaper. I need to check out that CDE 900
May get the d7 bidirectional scanner. Lowest price so far is $460 with free shipping
The d7 is a cool unit, what are you using it on?

Where did you get the NUCAR scanner? How much is it? Thanks!
here is the video link ruclips.net/video/BdiN4xoj-3Y/видео.html and in the video description your find the link
Which tool is best for specific codes.
Not general
Any scan tool with oe side communication. And the bi directional support is an added bonus. Let me know your budget I can recommend one.
Mucar V06 or ThinkTool mini?
Almost the Same tool but I link the thinktool mini because of the expansion port on the back.
You have to pay for the bidirectional part? I have a thinktool mini
Yes, 49 per year if I remember. Others come with 3 years included
@@RANDOMFIX ahhh gotchu
Glad to help anytime.
