my bird fell asleep with me in my palm, the night before he died, as I played this song. he was a little albino budgie that I had for 7 years, and he lived through 4 other birds. He was old, and tired. I remember waking up in the middle of the night; he was sleeping against my face as this song played. Peacefully breathing, my friend through my childhood.
I will definitely never understand why the Disney Studios deleted it from the original... what a crime, what a shame ! This would have been one of the highlights of the 1940 « Fantasia » with Schubert’s Ave Maria and other great sequences. And the orchestration, my goodness... sensibility and emotion held together and magnificently played by the silky Philadelphia Orchestra and Maestro Stokowski. A real pearl.
I've always loved this song, but the way it's played/conducted here is far and away the most sublime version of it that ever since hearing it I'm unable to listen to any other version. The longing, the tender aching, the gentle enduring love that these artists have conveyed here just shatters the heart and holds it together again so beautifully, I am undone and restored within the space of a few breaths.
The whole thing is so gorgeous. But I particularly like the part with the reflection the light sparkling in the water. Everyone likes looking at that, and these artists set it to music. So beautiful.
The night I met my Fiancee I heard this and was convinced that she was that special one. I got tears to my eyes then and still do now every time I hear it
I'm not crying!! I'm just chopping up lots and lots of strong onions!!!! I can't help but think of my grandfather and great aunt flying to heaven when I see the last bit,
This is absolutely my favorite song. This and a few Kenny G songs soothed the savage beast in me. Literally saved my life in my darkest time. Fell asleep many nights to them. Thank you Mr.s Debussy and G.
This was the version I was looking for, with the "Fantasia" scene. This master piece had it all. So beautiful, nostalgic and misterious. I can't describe it
Those 2 birds that are flying off in the night sky remind me of those 2 people who played as the MMPR, the actress who played as Trini (Thuy Trang) and the actor who played as Tommy (Jason David Frank). RIP Trini and Tommy, may the Morphin power protect you 2.
A veces fuerte,a veces terrorífico, a veces meditativo. Fantasia is a Disney different we used to know. Sometimes strong, sometimes terrifying, sometimes meditative. This short uses the same technique and spirit than Fantasia's ending (the Ave Maria), and the beginning of Bambi. But this short is the best tribute that could be done to Debussy. It's one of the few American cartoons that looks like a Japanese Ukiyo-e print, and oriental art was an important source of inspiration for Impressionist art. Actually this short, more than a beautiful landscape, is like a haiku, one of those three-line Japanese poems that are improvised on what we perceive and feel at the time.

I just watched Make Mine Music and I remembered hearing that there was a version of Blue Bayou with different music. I had really liked the segment in MMM, but by god this is so much better.
Still a shame that this wasn't included in Fantasia and that the music used instead was Blue Bayou, I mean I like the Make Mine Music short film but it works so much better with Clair de Lune and this one's like one of the most known pieces in classical music
Beautiful. I think I should creat a story about a loving egret called The Secret of Clair de Lune which will also explain the true meaning of love and not judging someone by its appearance.
One crystal-clear night, a female egret stood in the swamps of Everglades National Park. She walked slowly across the water. She spread her wings and flew over the water in the light of the moon. After that, she skidded her feet and landed elegantly on the water. Ripples began to appear as the moon reflected on the water. A male egret walked across the water and spread his wings and flew off. The female egret began to take off. Then two egrets flew through the air and traveled across the sky.
very similar to Blue Bayou with 'fantasia on greensleeves', almost a precursor to - don't know which was first but certainly done by the same artists - ah, now just found this in the description - interesting - beautiful but I think I prefer the latter - thanks for uploading
The music from "Alien," is called "Symphony No. 2," from the end of the film after the alien is destroyed by Ellen Ripley, following it, she makes her final report on the Narcissus to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, whom she's beginning to despise for putting her crew in danger, reporting that she is the only survivor, and the Nostromo has been completely destroyed along with it's cargo of tons of mineral ore, from Thedus dock to be sent home to Earth, before going to hypersleep, then the credits. The first two films are the best. And watch "Jodorowsky's Dune," and learn about how a Chilean-French cult filmmaker prepared to make a mind-trip adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune," with French comic book artist, Jean "Moebius" Giraud, British book cover artist, Chris Foss, Swiss-German surrealist painter, H.R. Giger, and science fiction fan/young special effects wiz, Dan O'Bannon, only for it to fall apart, but it had an influence on films from "Star Wars," and "Alien," to "The Matrix," and the Jodoverse.
Tripp1993 without question Alien and Aliens are the best in the series Alien 3 was just okay, Alien: Resurrection was a joke, I refuse to watch any of the AVP movies and I hated Prometheus
I can see why it was cut from Fantasia. While not bad by any means, I think it would have been the weakest part and this would have been the scene I would have cut.
This song is way too subtle compared to the others. It would be really jarring to go from seeing the history of the earth and the cosmos, or a roaring meeting of demons and monsters, to a peaceful song of the beauty of the moon and vice versa. The animation and composition are both utterly beautiful but also more focused on the atmosphere and slight changes than the others.
There will never be animation like this again. Just beautiful. Today's Disney can't hold a candle to this masterpiece.
And to think this is a deleted scene that never got to be in the movie. Ughh, I weep for this kind of art.
Back then, they wanted to make children dream. Now they untertain them

They deleted the sequence from the film because of "Fantasia"'s excessive length of 124 minutes.
@@rodrigosamuelguinis717 5 extra mins wouldn’t have hurt in fact it would have made it better
Plus it keeps Fantasia the world's longest animated movie....
@@worldofhunter1636 do they subtract the live action portions from that record?
Well, the animation didn't go to waste. It was reused for the "Blue Bayou" segment of _Make Mine Music._
I wish they can keep that sequence in Fantasia this is one of most beautiful animation

The part at 4:15 always gives me so many emotions, and this little animation perfectly fits those feelings.

The truest piece of art on the internet

for some reason this song always reminds of the first Alien movie
Why?
Tripp1993 towards the end of Alien (1979) pretty much during the end credit sequence it sounds similar to this
The music from "Alien," is called "Symphony No.

They could easily use this when Fantasia 2000 was in development.

Relançado como curta independente em 1996 .
A nice find- but what is it to do with Bavouzet?

Are there other animations set to this music?
I think Debussy's "Dialogue between sky and sea" would be a great Fantasia segment. But then not if they re interpreted it
This segment reminds me of Wall-E when he went to the outer space.
What is the name of animation ??
Blue Bayou by Disney
Movie ?
Make mine music ( 1946 )
Fantasia (1940), this is a deleted segment though but the movie is still amazing
Which chapter is this?
This chapter was eliminated by the film's duration.
Oceans 11 :D
I can see why it was cut from Fantasia.
While not bad by any means, I think it would have been the weakest part and this would have been the scene I would have cut.

male egret: I have searched the whole bayou for love, but there's no hope left for me. Am I to forever be alone?
