    I did 13.9 1\4 mile in my 2022 brz bone stock.
    I would have to look back at the time slip, but I want to say that was like a 9.3 1\8 mile. Best way to launch hard and not brake shit is to load up the driveline while holding the parking brake up. You hold up the E brake and as soon as the yellow lights start to drop you bring the revs up to about 3500rpm. Start letting the clutch up Just until you feel it start to slip. On that last yellow light (dont wait for green) drop the handbrake and pop that clutch out the rest of the way. The car can get out of the hole FAST. I have similar mods now. Intake, full exhaust, flex fuel. I feel it should take about 0.5-0.7 seconds off the 1\4 mile on better tires.

      Damn… that’s awesome to hear that homie. You are definitely ripping it for sure! I really appreciate the suggestion and feedback, I will for sure take that into consideration if and when I go back to the strip. I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that out for me to help out, and for watching the video. 👏💙

      @hhaste 8 месяцев назад +1

      Do _not_ hold the clutch at the slip point, that is bad advice, imo. Keep it held to the floor or at least away from the slip point. Holding it at the slip point causes heat to build very fast, glazing the clutch, then it won't bite properly.. you'll just roast the clutch. Everything else is correct, like holding the e-brake. That fraction of a second isn't worth glazing/burning up the clutch over.

    • @boost331
      @boost331 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@hhaste Sorry but you are wrong. What would you think holding the Ebrake would accomplish if you arent puting a little forward pressure to the tires? The entire point is to put pressure on the clutch, driveshaft, rear diff and axles. That preloads the system so it doesnt get shocked from a hard launch and break things. That 1 second from top yellow to bottom yellow light will not hurt your clutch. I have been drag racing powerful manual cars for 25 years with this method. What you describe accomplishes nothing. If you arent going to load up the driveline, dont even bother holding the brake.

      If you running street tires you wont break anything with a stock drive train...You will just blow the tires off

    • @Justinackerman_

      Yeah I dealt with that the entire night. I really need to work on either perfecting the launch control. Or just simply slipping the clutch of the line. There’s been a lot of great suggestions to help me better perfect it, so I really appreciate the help, and for watching the video fam 👏💙

    I love how positive and humble you were being, but the Z driver had no fuckin clue what he was talking about 😅 Downpipe on an NA car? 230 hp on a Z??? Dude is working with at least 260 to the wheels, probably closer to 300-320. He also jumped the start like crazy on the second run.
    That was a really good run, didn’t know the GR86 could run in a straight line this well (I have a 2nd gen BRZ and always curious what it can do there). Goes to show you how big of a difference the weight savings makes.

    • @Justinackerman_
      @Justinackerman_  8 месяцев назад +2

      What’s up Andrew, I appreciate the kind words man. I always try to be as nice and as humble as I can, never try to talk shit to anyone about their car just because you never know the kind of work or effort they put into building them. As far as the Z driver, tbh I thought the exact same, I was a-bit confused as to what he was talking about… Thats why I quoted what he said that way everyone could hear and understand what they were saying. Honestly though even though he might of lied about what’s done to the car, or how much HP it may have I still had an absolutely blast taking the 86 down the strip. Was awesome to see as well, what kind of cars it could maybe keep up with and the kind of time class I was able to get in with the car. I appreciate you checking out the video and showing love and support man, truly means so much to me👏💙

    • @hhaste
      @hhaste 8 месяцев назад +3

      He was probably talking about a Y-pipe, when he said downpipe by accident.. or that's just what he calls his Y-pipe. If he was on a low reading dyno, like a Mustang, then it could certainly read 230WHP, where other high reading dyno's will say closer to 260. Some guy on reddit said he was able to get 276 wheel HP from his 350z on a high reading dyno (Dynojet) with the following mods: Plenum spacer, mrev2 lower plenum, k&n filter, motordyne tdx2 exhaust" so he's probably not far off, if it was a Mustang dyno (or un-tuned, I didn't listen to what he said) Also, he didn't jump on the 2nd run or he would have red lighted.

    • @Justinackerman_
      @Justinackerman_  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oh for sure, yeah Im not saying what he said was a lie in any way, I just just a bit confused myself as to what he meant. Either way whatever amount of HP he might be pushing in the Z I still feel like the 86 did rather well. A lot of people say that an HR would completely dog walk a new gen 86 in a straight line, so it’s awesome to see for myself how close in comparison the two cars truly are. I really appreciate you checking the video our fam, and for trying to help better clarify what the Z driver might of been referring too.

    • @Justinackerman_
      @Justinackerman_  8 месяцев назад +1

      What’s up Sam, if you see on the first couple runs I was actually trying to use it. However I don’t do many launches in this car already, so it don’t have much experience using the launch control. It would cause me to spin the tires every time I tried launching hard with that. Maybe not that I’ve got some practice doing it, if you all would maybe want to see me come back and try and get a faster time that could be pretty cool! I appreciate you watching the video fam 👏💙

    Nice, here's a few things to know about your 86. The carz gonna get a lot of shock due to the 2pc mid axle, to get more power to the wheel, run your rear tire pressure 5psi low. Look into aluminum axle, being stock, launch at 1,5k-2krpm. Throttle 35% clutch bite then go from there. I wouldn't be saying this if I haven't tried.

      @ak740_ 8 месяцев назад +1

      The 86 gains about 10 horsepower with all those mods on 93 gas. Without e85, there’s hardly much gains from stock

    • @Justinackerman_
      @Justinackerman_  8 месяцев назад

      Wassup homie, yeah I completely get where your coming from. The only reason I said “it’s pretty much stock” is because the mods that I have installed really don’t give it a huge increase in HP. Not to take away from the performance parts/companies that I have on the car, they work well it’s just not a huge amount of HP increase for me to go bragging about or anything. If I had to guess I’m realistically probably making around 230-240 hp (hopefully.)😅

    • @Justinackerman_
      @Justinackerman_  8 месяцев назад

      You are correct however… As the 86 sit in it’s current state it is almost full bolt like you were saying. The only things I could maybe do next would be E85, and front pipe/overpipe combo. However the car is already loud as it sits, so if I were to do anything power wise next it would definitely be a flex fuel kit and a new revision from Boosted Performance so i could run E and make some more HP. He didn't red light, that's when you're supposed to start your launch.. right at the 3rd yellow light. It wasn't that he went early, the POV car went late, since it was his first time ever at the strip.

      I did a little research and went on some forums and people were claiming it was pulling around low to mid 10 second passes in the 1/8 mile. As you can tell I was pretty surprised when I saw i was in the 9’s 😂 Thanks for watching the video fam 👏💙

      That’s what I was wondering as well, he also claimed it was stock when I first asked him. When we were going down the strip though you can see his Z shooting flames in between shifts, so it clearly has some work done to it. Either way, it was a great run between both the cars, i appreciate you watching the video fam 👏💙

      He probably just calls the Y-pipe that, not that big of a deal, lol.

      Very true, plus I think he was translating for his friend from what it looked like so he could has easily of just said the wrong thing. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t trying to lie about what he had done or what Hp he might of had. They both seemed like really nice guys 💪

      Those MK5 Supras are nice, but I’ve wanted an 86 since the FRS first came out. So I knew I had to get a Gen2 when they came out. Thanks for watching the video 💪
