Yeah it's shocking how much jogging there is. I was catching a glimpse of a game while I was watching the NFL conference championship games at a sports bar. It was OKC playing the Blazers I believe. There was no movement in the half court. 3 guys were just standing in their spots while 2 guys were running the pick and roll. The No1 was playing one of the worst teams and it looked exactly the same on both sides. The only difference was who was making shots and who wasn't

I have caught a lot of flack for saying this. I also think a large number of people are addicted to gambling to where it's preferred over the actual competition and the love of sports. It cheapens the game; I caught flack for this as well.
I disdain gambling. I have a nephew who is an athlete and prefers gambling over honing his skills because he feels the latter is more worth it because he can make money off it. He literally said this in the open in person a few weeks ago. No shame or self-awareness. I even spoke to someone overseas a while ago who thinks Americans are addicted to gambling because it's all we talk about in the realm of sports.
      We did this to ourselves.

The real reason why the Mavs gave Luka away to Los Angeles is because Adelson and the organization understand that the NBA is a declining business down over 50 percent in viewership and revenue across the board. They don’t care about basketball and they didn’t want to give a max contract extension of over 300 million dollars guaranteed to any player. The value of the NBA is in steep decline. Why do you think Mark Cuban fleeced Adelson for 5 billion dollars? He saw the league interest was trending downward and got the best of both worlds in maintaining a minority ownership stake in the Mavs without having the financial burdens of paying out max salaries. LA may be able to withstand the decline of the league and still make billions because the Lakers are kind of a “moat franchise”. Truthfully, the NBA may have to think about cutting the number of teams down across the country and totally rebrand the NBA. It’s just not exciting anymore for a variety of reasons.

If that were true then why didn't they shop Luka around to other teams for a better deal? Why did Nico only talk to the Lakers? It's been reported that Nico originally had multiple 1sts in the deal too but Pelinka talked him out of them. The trade is ridiculous. Nobody would ever trade a 25 year old generational player that averages close to a triple double for a guy that, while extremely good, is over 30 and sits half the season in street clothes.

The Truth: This trade is on par with when the NBA owners & commissioner rescinded the Chris Paul trade the Lakers. Nico and Rob were forced to make this trade because the NBA overall viewership & sales have been declining in recent years (NBA team owners share in league revenue money). LA is one of the top 2 markets so they need a global face like Luca in LA (Lebron appeal has faded years ago and continues to do so - most young NBA players look up to Steph or KD more than Lebron). The NBA recently secured new TV right deals with the networks so they (NBA) CAN’t afford to continue to lose money. If this trade was really about Dallas or Los Angeles winning a championship within the next 1 -3 years, more draft picks would have been involved; also Kyrie can become a free agent either at the end of this season; in addition, Anthony Davis can become a free agent at the end of Next season (he & Kyrie have player options) - which makes this trade even more stupid for Dallas if it was really about actually winning a championship. All these media pundits are just following a script while being told what to say create false narratives. #YourmansionLife

There is no problem with a non basketball billionaire buying a team if their goal is to create an entertainment hub for gambling. The vision is making Dallas a Vegas 2.0 NICOs life expectancy isn’t very long and he knows it. He needed to move Luka or be out of 50million in his compensation package should Luka sign the Super Max. Adelson sees it as 350 million could be used for another building or another 50 acres. Luka is just collateral damage in the vision of the Nico and the Adelson family. Nico believes AD could potentially get him 1 a title two get him an extension to his contract for his gamble paying off. Interestingly it helps the NBA because the ratings have dropped and continue too. Getting Luka in LA a major market and world wide reach and appeal only helps the NBA and other owners.

Texas is a tax free state, do you know how high Luka's contract was about to send NBA salaries. His max was right at 69$mil a year. Steph is the highest paid this year at $55.7mil. C'mon mane, Embiid, Joker and KD are all at $51mil. Luka would need Mahomes numbers to justify that big of a leap forward. If Luka got that deal there would be 5 players over $70mil in 2 years. This is straight up wage suppression, no need for conspiracy theories. They don't believe Luka is worth it, no team in the league is mad Luka is not getting that supermax, believe that.

Luka is only 25 years old and is considered the 3rd or 4th best player in the league. He has been in the MVP conversation for the past four years, boasting a career average of 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. The Lakers are fortunate to have made this trade. While it may not improve their chances of winning a championship today, it’s important to note that this team wasn't going to win a title as currently constructed anyway. This move is strategic, focusing on the post-LeBron era. The Lakers have always had a superstar on their roster, from Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, and now Luka. A team like the Hornets will never be involved in one of these trades even tho the draft picks they can give up are guaranteed to be at the top of drafts, but somehow the 27th pick in the 2029 draft is the golden ticket to get a top 3 player in the league. I've seen this before many times. There is a documentary called " Major League" it's about a baseball team. You can see it on TBS or TNT every other month.

Just like the refs fixing games was a conspiracy until it was proven with Tim Donaghy. Don't be naive. There's a lot of evidence that points to the NBA favoring certain outcomes.

I came to the Lord asking for his blessings as a single parent because raising my son (Joel) was an act of courage despite all the challenges. And the Lord answered my prayers with a benefiting income of $31,000 every month. To God be the glory. Joel is in school and life's been fair lately.

This is what needs to happen!!! Nico needs to MOVE the Mavericks to Las Vegas like he REALLY WANTS as an EXPANSION TEAM and change the nickname (Like what the Cleveland Browns did when they moved to Baltimore in 1996). Next you INACTIVATE the Dallas Mavericks franchise (like the late 90s Cleveland Browns) until you get a new arena approved in the DFW Area!!! When that happens, MARK CUBAN buys the Mavericks and the play in Dickies Arena in Fort Worth while they build the Choctaw Dome to rival the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles where the current, and former Texas Rangers home, Choctaw Stadium is!!! You would have a MASSIVE SPORTS complex in Arlington with AT&T stadium, Globe Life field, and the Intuit Dome within walking distance of each other!!!
