He is often regarded as the wunderkind of contemporary French Canadian cinema. One of the talented, generational filmmaker in his era. This a lovely tribute to his great films.
If you immensely fell in love with any one XAVIER DOLAN film and his visual approach, without any question you can watch his entire Filmography and you would love it.. Starting from I Killed my Mother to Matthias and Maxime, even criticized films of his are a distinctive cinematic experience. Personally Dolan is my favorite contemporary filmmaker and his HEARTBEATS is a MASTERPIECE.
I only saw his debut work I Killed My Mother. And I was so stunned! Didnt expect something this good and artistic ftom a young filmmaker. He is a genius.
His movies are so wholesome, emotional, full of heart and light. Amazing talent, Xavier's not only a great director, but an amazing actor too. He's one of my favorites in the modern cinema ❤
This is like the dream come true - Xavier Dolan is one of my most beloved filmmakers! Thank you so much! PS: Could you do 'The beauty of Gaspar Noe', next time please?
Thank you for reminding me of this song! And thank you so much for introducing me to Xavier Dolan. Will definitely be going down the rabbit hole of his work :)
I'm going to die soon in a couple of days, just know that these videos where some of the best things that came to mind in these last few weeks that I had. I watched as many movies as I could, falling in love with so many. I just wanted to thank you for making these, they're eternal and special. One movie that comes to mind that I would've liked to do a 'Beauty of edit' myself was "Rosso come il cielo" (Red like the Sky). Its the type of cinema I was born with, along with "Io non ho paura" (I'm not scared). It speaks to my past and childhood, I never questioned why I shared my experiences with white films and kids of a different tone than mine, but I've been holding them very close ever since. Anyways, I wish you the very best, never stop and I hope that somehow I can keep watching, from on the earth or wherever I'll be. Thanks again 💙 sweet dreams everyone 💤💤💤
Your message really touched me. If I can bring you some peace in thoses hard time i will do my best. I got some videos who are ready to be released. I can send you all the link in advance if you want to. Just dm me on instagram, Twitter or Facebook and I will show you everything. Please contact me!
@@TheBeautyOf I'm sorry but I didn't think you'd respond. you've done enough for me already and a lot of people too, I just wanted you to know that I will not have left this place without having experienced something really beautiful, hence "The Beauty Of" which it is and will always be. However, if you would like to have a conversation about anything my Insta is @jules_in_colour. But this goes without saying, it's not a must, people can only be so kind ☺️ something I've been thinking about. There's really no fault aside from the things we tell and feel about ourselves and others. And I guess I've been writing to people, because, of those who've made me feel blessed I cherish unconditionally
Fun Facts about young Xavier Dolan: As a child Dolan was well know in Quebec for the french-canadian dubs of notable roles like Ron Weasley (Harry Potter), Jacob Black (Twilight), Stan Marsh (South Park) to name a few. He also did many other minor roles in québecois TV and cinéma. I remember him fondly in "La Forteresse Suspendue" (The Suspended Fortress) & several others when I was young. (0:51 & 1:33) ruclips.net/video/SnFqNx7-YgY/видео.html He is also the son of Manuel Tadros, another big personality in Québec, who perhaps most famously portrayed Rodrigo Borgia, the antagonist in the Assassin's Creed II & AC: Brotherhood video games. Most surprising to me was finding out also played a small part in Martyrs, arguably one of the most disturbing movie ever. For those in the known, he was the one portraying the son in the infamous diner scene at the very beginning. ruclips.net/video/L8CXhgrwMq0/видео.html Its been wild and inspiring on a personal level seeing him and Denis Villeneuve suceed on the international scene. Hopefully, we'll be able to experience Dune in theater soon in all its glory 🤞
ufff great video, Xavier Dolan is one of the most representative directors of this era and one of the best at what he does. I would recommend a The Beauty of Paul Thomas Anderson
El cine de Xavier Dolan me levanta, me deprime y me vuelve a levantar. Te hace vivir, con un sonrisa, con un deseo de liberar esos sueños y hacerlos realidad
Some suggestions: The beauty of late spring The beauty of Tokyo Story The beauty of bande a part The beauty of Nostalghia The beauty of Cries and Whispers The beauty of Andrei Rublev Th beauty of l'Avventura
Gorgeous, really love Xavier Dolan's films. I was wondering, will you ever do the same for Claire Denis? I'm a huge fan of her and the filmography attached to her name is really glorious and incredibly unrecognised. Also I can't wait for the new criterion for Beau Travail, it looks so so good
Hey Beauty of, just a quick question: On Letterbox you gave Spirited Away a 2,5/5. I just wanted to ask why you think that because it interests me, knowing that it is considered as one of the best movies ever made.
I'm active on senscritique, but not at all on letterboxd... I've seen spirited away when I was really young and I didn't like it, I need to give it a second try

Quebec...
OMG you just said everything i had in mind :))) this comment is so true.
I'm not entirely sure why, but I got a pretty major emotional reaction from how this opened.
Only 30 years old and still making classics with each coming entry.
Quebec...
The death and life of John Donovan is a criminally underrated movie
OUI
SPOILER. The ending of the kid being free as John couldn't is like a poetic justice to the mark John left on the kid's life.
Yes, I don't know why people hate it so much. Doesn't makes sense.
Xavier Dolan is definitely in my top 10 directors working today❤️
