    Wow, man. They are definitely not screwing around. Doing this with every song on the album would be unreal. I listen to this album probably 4 times over per day - shit you not. The layers are so sick.

    Wow, I did not expect to see this song being delved into. A lesser known song by an underrated band; it’s like you’ve been browsing my Spotify or something.
    Very fascinating and personally relevant stuff.

    I listened to a podcast interview with Sam Pura and he went on at length about how he wasn't mixing this album. He talked about the original "Out of it" and how he disagreed with a lot of what had been done with the mix, and my impression is that he has pre-empted a lot of the mixing steps by putting his own stamp on the production earlier on and added his own framework so that it wouldn't stray too far from what he would have done.

    Do you say "raw", when it's already tuned and timed? i mean digital intonation and timing correction is obviously done to the multi-tracks. When you say raw, i think of totally unedited tracks (except cutting).

    The songs are amazing but Is it me or do the songs not sound full enough this time around? almost as if someone threw a blanket over final mixing or production, it just sounds like it’s not full rich sound. Idk I could be the only one who thinks this

  • @LukeGibsonSS
    @LukeGibsonSS 5 лет назад +3

    Man those vocals are so heavily over processed IMO. Can hear the revoice pro and Antares/Melodyne set to max and then it sounds like it was sent through for a second time. I mean I can sometimes process my vocals quite heavily too as it can be a cool effect but this would make even Cher blush. lmao

    • @_ethanmc
      @_ethanmc 5 лет назад

      double tracking the vocals gives them that chorusy/melodyne-y sound i think. not arguing that there's definitely a lot going on but i think a lot of it is the tracking.

    • @LukeGibsonSS
      @LukeGibsonSS 5 лет назад +2

      @@_ethanmc You're right they are double tracked, but that is not how natural double tracked vocals sound, that's how they sound once they've been processed with revoice pro a highly sophisticated app used primarily by big hollywood movies designed to sync dialogue recorded in the sound booth perfectly to dialog audio in the field which can't be used due to unwanted ambience, i.e. traffic noise, director shouting instructions etc. as you can imagine this needs to be insanely precise to be convincing in a visual medium. Well what you hear here, is what that sounds like when you apply it to double tracked vocals, I don't care how long you spend trying to get separate takes to sound like that, you just won't. It's impossible, even a note on a guitar plucked perfectly in sync at the same velocity will never be that perfectly in phase. Trust me, I own the program and I use it, it's a cool effect and can really work well, but like anything it can be overdone IMO
