5:23 I’m glad to hear someone outside of the U.S. admit to learning about terms many young Black Americans (specifically African Descendants of the Enslaved) are taught from a young age. I think that, at times, others from the African diaspora get up in arms when we are passionate about topics and think we are “making things up” when it’s really that, to survive in this country, we must be aware of the tactics of oppressors and oppressive systems. I appreciate the admittance to this concept being new to the interviewer without dismissing it. Some might be surprised at the reactions I’ve gotten from other folks in the diaspora when bringing up similar topics.
The term african was named after a ROMAN general. To this day AFRO-ASASTIC ppl still live in africa. The majority of so-called black people can't trace their ancestory to africa with GENEALOGY.The definition of a american according to the 1828 webster dictoinary is a COPPER COLORED PERSON.Some of us were enslaved in AMERICA and some were just at war. My mini-series proves this.
I agree with your first point, HOWEVER, Beyonce is also a producer. She has production credits on many of her songs as well as DC songs. But she isn't a producer in the sense of beatmaking. She's involve in vocal productions as well as ideas and concepts of songs as well as saying things like "we need a bridge here" etc
Our sampling is a way to keep us connected to what came before us. Our music has NEVER been respected. From being original to sampling. Maybe it’s hard for them to steal our music because of the sampling so they have moved the goalpost?!
A lot. She used to do everything herself or with just one or two other people, but to reinvent herself over and over again, she started to involve other people. And she started using more samples as a way to credit those who came before us
You know the top 10 most awarded grammy winners in history, 80% of them don't have album of the year, the one right after Beyonce doesn't either... it's not a big deal.
From a metrics standpoint, it's clear why someone could win many awards in different areas, but not for overarching awards: Sometimes the parts are better than the whole. Someone might excel in specific areas, achieving notable success or recognition within well-defined categories, but if the overall cohesion or impact doesn’t match the excellence of the parts, overarching recognition might not be achieved. I don't know if this is the case with Beyonce, but if it is, maybe it's her strength. I personally think achieving mastery across vast specific areas is a feat deserving of recognition, and her record-breaking Grammy wins reflect this.
Would you go work with someone that’s arrogant and disrespected your family and legacy ? If you had a beef with someone would you work with them ? If your wife or husband worked closely with someone you was not on good terms with, would you like it ? Also it says sound like but NOT sound like. So that’s where you’re missing the point.
Welp like he said they probably sample less produce more lyrics and probably produce with instruments so there more of an artist in some ppl eyes which I could as a posed to hiring a bunch all talent to bring to life your vision
@@Hhh-kr5eodon’t mistake a Grammy win for quality. Have you looked into how the Grammys are selected? I remember reading the notes from a couple of Grammy voters for album of the year; one said they weren’t going to vote for Lana (DYKTATUOB) over her poor SNL performance years ago, and wasn’t going to vote for SZA (SOS) cos they hadn’t even heard of her, and then justified voting for Taylor by saying that she always wins.

It’s her fans in the comments sayingb she didn’t say that to people who actually worked with her for me … Beyonce is not a music producer y’all
Right, shes a composer. She changes parts of her own music, shes not really a producer but definitely a composer & writer

" sound like kanye but not kanye "
Like a little of Kanye but make it Beyonce
@@smilealwaysnatasha3423that’s how I understood it too
Inspired by Kanye's sound
@@lotusphoenix8 why not just go to kanye.
@@PA_Dre_beats Is Kanye a Sound Engineer too?

So she does participate in the production of the songs?
there is no way u get to beyonces level without being part of the process
@ That’s good because the internet really made think that she doesn’t do anything in the process of creating a song

no.
How did she contribute? 😊
OH MY GOD. I literally heard the album and thought "This sounds like if Yeezus was a house album"

No. Most of majority of her Grammys are in the urban categories.
Niceeee

never won album for the year because you rather pay to “sound like” as opposed to paying for the real thing.
Do you know how many people produce for Kanye?

Interesting
Pretty much create your own shit lyrics find 1 or 2 producer and stop sampling so much it’s the easy way out lowkey I could see this perspective
They give album of the year to the most bland Taylor Swift and Harry Style who makes the blandest album
