    Hi Frank here from Ireland got a merry tiller great little machine have some attachments but sometimes it get stuck and the tynes dont spin where did you buy the chain assembly regards Frank

    Looking at the case after you split it I noticed it has grease on the chains, normally the casing is filled to a level plug with high pressure gear oil in my experience, I should think someone has heavily overloaded this one.

    Where did you find the chain unit/transmission? I probably need one. The only online source I have found is 'searspartsdirect' and they want $300+ for one. They can't be serious. I guess I could rebuild the innards but I haven't cracked it open. While tilling, tt acted like the chain broke, spun freely, and wouldn't turn the tines. But then it started to again. Something's not right in there. The old guy I got it from apparently used jute/grease packing to seal the shafts, too. Not a very good seal. The chain sounds dry, too.
