    Intertitle: "LORD MAYOR of CORK DEAD. Cork - was outwardly calm on receipt of the news - but military patrolled the City unceasingly".
    Scenes in London, Dublin and Cork. The Mayor, Tomas (Terence) MacSwiney died after a hunger strike, he is succeeded by Mr. O'Callaghan.
    M/S of the coffin being carried through the street past a large crowd held back by Policemen. A bishop and two priests walk into shot, the bishop sprinkles holy water on the coffin. The pallbearers lift the coffin, covered in the Republican flag, into the back of a hearse. M/S of solemn faced men, including one monk, standing in a row behind the hearse, leading the funeral cortege. M/S of the horse drawn hearse going passing through the streets of Cork, men in civilian dress march in an orderly fashion behind it . One of them men shouts orders and they do an about turn and march in a different direction to escort another horse drawn hearse (possibly a mourner's carriage). High angled L/S of the funeral procession, looking over the heads of a dense crowd of mourners. High angled L/S of the procession rounding a bend in the road, lots of policemen walk alongside the cortege. People standing on the pavement join the tail of the cortege. M/S of a procession of alter boys, choristers and priests. Various C/Us of the pallbearers walking with the coffin and the chief mourners. L/S looking down a crowd lined street in a Cork. We see the pallbearers taking the coffin into the church. More general scenes of the funeral procession and vast crowds of mourners. Some shots are possibly of a Sinn Fein procession in London. M/S of a delegation of men coming down the drive way of a prison - probably Brixton Prison where MacSwiney died.
