RUclips recommended this video. I like how you made the bench solid and sturdy.

Thanks for the video. My wife asked for this same bench and I plans to build it and your tips are extremely useful especially stop and paint. Seat height and depth are critical and you covered that.
Great detailed instructions. I use the Wagner Flexio 3000. We have painted a loft bed for my daughter with it and several other projects. I am extremely happy with its performance for the price. Cleanup is extremely easy

That’s great, happy to hear the video helped. Good luck with your bench and thanks for the insight on the Wagner.

It’s been a year now. Did you get to make the bench?

What a good idea. I've seen them made out of a headboard before but not a crib. Cribs are easier to get a hold of

It's great to see you upcycling the crib into smth useful! We also didn't want to throw away our baby's cot and decided to convert it into a child's sofa. It is quite easy to do with only basic tools and a small expense. You can see the result and other interesting DIY ideas on channel, Best DIY Russia

Looks great! Plan on doing the same. Did you remove the old paint first? What kind of paint did you use? Sprayed on or hand painted? Thank you.

We are doing the same thing, but we're worried that the seat wasn't going to be sturdy enough without either it's own legs or a center support, what do you think?

As long as your bench will be a similar width you should be fine. I’ve built four of these and I haven’t had any issues. Good luck!

This is lovely. We had a stillbirth and then went on to have 3 more kids. I bought the crib originally for by daughter who ended up passing at 24 weeks. I would like to do the same with the crib as everyone has outgrown it now. Do you think it will stand up okay in the weather. I planned to put in my yard but we love in Canada and get lots of snow. It is hardwood and wasn't sure is I need to bring it in in the winter and if it will withstand then rain or if I am best to keep it indoors?

I’m so sorry for your loss Molly. I built a similar crib bench for my Mom and used exterior paint so she could use it outside. She has had it for about 6 months now and hasn’t had any issues. Be sure to use exterior screws and I think it would do okay.

Could you cut down the sides to make them shorter

Was the use of the first screws just for aesthetic reasons? I don’t think we have something to make the side screws so I was thinking of just putting them in head on.

I’m not sure which screws you’re referring to. Can you send me the time stamp in the video for what you’re referring to?

This is slow enough you can watch it in 2x speed with no issues. You’re welcome.
