*ADJUSTABLE* DIY PORCH SWING BED - using a IKEA mattress

  • The backrest of this swing bed is adjustable, so you can either sit normally, or use it as a twinsize bed. It uses a cheap ikea mattress as base. It took me nearly 3 months and 88 mortise and tenon joints to complete this porch bed swing.

    too funny loved the attempts to get the wrong through the hole.
    Having been there before and throwing a piece of scrap wood or two at the wall... it was clear for my 3/4" rope, that I drill a 7/8" hole.... slides right in :)

    Nice build. The trouble you had with your router table and the kickback was you are running your pieces the wrong way! You did this twice. Try running your pieces through the opposite direction and you'll be fine, with no more climbing cut kickback.

      Is there even a difference in climbcutting / conventional cutting when you are full slotting? In my understanding both types are happening

      @@ChristophLehner Hello, yes there absolutely is. So if the fence is on the other side in your case, it will keep your workpiece pulled into the fence instead of trying to rip it away..Even for a dado or slotted cut. Enjoy!
