No holiday beats Christmas
Adam P I love it! Every Christmas I have an oversized tree smothered in baubles, lights and garlands. The living room window gets the festive gels and the net of multicoloured chasing lights. Out come the strings of glittery letters, the ornaments and the mugs. The place gets plastered with cards from family and friends. Yet, when it all comes down in early January, the room looks so cold and bare, even though it was fairly nice and cosy before the Christmas decorations. It's downright depressing. Maybe that's why so many people paint and redecorate after the festive period? But still, I prefer Bonfire Night to Halloween. Massive outdoor fireworks, sparklers, bonfires and hot chocolate versus handing out sweeties to little kids in costumes? No contest!

Recently I've been suffering with some demons depression low self esteem anxiety about myself and where she said "fine then I'm weird and I love it" smiling confidently loving herself embracing herself for who she is realising you got 1 life your in your body and you are who you are and it can't be changed so may aswell love yourself and be confident even if those around you are saying you should be self conscious that's weird all this stuff. No that's wrong you should love yourself.

I felt offended for her. She is saying that Halloween is her best day of the year because she loves dressing up and throwing parties. And there is absolutely no shame in that. I have personally never celebrated it cuz it's not popular in our culture but I see the appeal. And then you have two dudes who are basically making fun of her (Yes they were, they were saying it's stupid and a waste of time in their own way) I'm sure they didn't mean anything bad by it but I found it rude.
Thing is, I never even speak up about anything I see. I'm not usually what you would call a social justice warrior or a feminist or whatever. But these two guys were being assholes honestly. I'm glad that she took it well and with grace.

it comes from ireland, and was only brought to places that irish immigrants went to, so the US, Canada, NewZealand , Australia mostly, but the irish went everywhere, so they brought it to a lot of places, some places it stuck others it didn't. it was a tradition in britain till Christianity tried to stop it, but made a comeback as halloween, its still somewhat big in the UK.
