  • Using the Profoto C1 Plus and Profoto Connect, this is a great little setup for retaining the natural look of an event and adding just enough light for your subjects. The C1 Plus hybrid LEDs retailed on release at $500+ but can now be purchased for $199 or less.
    Although I love a lot of light (powerful flashes) when that much power isn’t needed, you can’t beat this setup.

    Finally, a video on this setup! I'd streamlined my Q2 carry down to the Connect and a C1Plus a few years back and it rocks. (Using it for street portraits and tight, backstage areas). I grabbed up a few more of the lights while they're around so I'm good for some time. Happy you found this!

      It really is a great little setup. I added a wrist strap to it for when I use it with manual focus. I can just let it drop, focus and grab it.

    very cool! I never considered the c1+, but been using the b10+, b10s and more recently the a10/a2's and they work flawlessly. might have to pick something like this up for family parties! thanks for the video my friend.

      Always welcome. The C1 + doesn’t hold a candle to the a10 A2 but for a small pop it is great

    This is manual flash then? Such a compact set up. I wonder how it would be on a film M body. Thanks for this video! I love your professional approach to photography

    A lot of people criticize the C1+ because of wattage and high price but its on my list with a purpose of using with my clic gels for a cinematic look they can set up quickly in small spaces such as adding more light from a side lamp or window.

    • @kaskoPhoto

      I love the clic gels but they do decrease the power of the C1 Plus

    This is very interesting, thank you. I have a Nikon Zf and a Leica M11. Looking to dip my toe into flash photography. Mostly for macro, but also for small groups. I have two questions: (1) Would this system work with both the Zf and the M11? (2) Is there some sort of adapter that would let you mount it directly on the hot shoe (for laziness and for macro photography for instance)? Also just curious, which Nikon was that you were holding? I am considering one with a better grip, like the Z7ii just for those times I want to try using flash, or with larger lenses. Thanks for the very high quality content.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  6 месяцев назад +2

      I use the Z7 II - love it. I am sure you can get a hot shoe adapter for it but that would take away the flash part of it since you need a remote on the hot shoe. I use it with both the Z and M cameras with the little Profoto Connect remote.

    Thanks for the video. have you use this on the M6 or any film camera? whats the sync speed and can you lock the manual power on this setup? thanks. The "for CANON" should work if i do manual (non-ttl), right?

    I'm tempted by the Godox MF12 for this style of shooting. It requires one of their controllers, so it's not as petit but nothing really is compared to that Connect probably.

      For the original Connect I use Nikon. No ttl but the pin placement is the same. Works perfectly in manual mode. For the new Connect Pro I use the Leica version.

    TTL cable!… then hang the flash around your neck when focusing!… That's what I do 🙃

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  8 месяцев назад

      The whole less is more for me. I want the small Connect on top and a small footprint all together. Having a full size flash connected to a cable and then connected to my camera. That would be everything I am trying to avoid. But your option does work well for that setup.

      @@kaskoPhoto My set up: 1. camera 2. flash 3. cable… The other way: 1. camera 2. flash 3. trigger 4. hand strap for the flash… Less is definitely more, but both will work.

    if one can do photography, even this tiny things will work. of course one has to use it in the way its meant to be used. Then you see some RUclipsrs making it bad, as they dont know their craft :) well done its a nice light
