I started playing guitar when I was young in the late 80s/early 90s. Uh, do to “life happening”, I didn’t play for almost the whole 2000s. When I was 2 years clean, my brother, for my sobriety birthday, gave me back 2 guitars that I had hawked during a rough patch. Made my friggin year man and I am forever grateful bc I was able to rediscover my love for playing and, honestly, despite the changes in the music industry, I love where music is now. The emergence of Doom and related subgenres just absolutely does it for me, music-wise. I sometimes listen to other genres, but this music is by far my favorite. Anyway, what I was going to say is - when I started playing again, I bought a Big Muff pedal and I recently bought a Laney Lionheart amp, and I absolutely love how it sounds…a lot of those High On Fire riffs I love so much are much easier to nail with that Big Muff for sure. I also sometimes run a MXR 10 band EQ, along with some other random pedals. I bought another common distortion pedal the supposedly has this retro 70s sound, but it just doesn’t hold a candlestick to that Big Muff, IMO. I mean, if I plug I. One after the other, the Big Muff just sounds way heavier man. And heavy…is…your…friend! ⚰️🎸🍄🧛🏼♂️
Not only does the amp sounds great, but this is one of the best demo vids I've ever seen. You showed a closeup of how guitar players will test the full range of an amp's sound instead of just playing and saying, "Here's how the distortion sounds." Well done on the vid, and congrats on a great sounding amp.
Have you done the tour there?, highly recommend it. They make awesome amps and the best mug of tea outside of a roadside van. I'm about 5 miles from them.
A beautifully versatile sounding amp. At cleaner sounds it's got a wonderful just a little dirty sound that makes me want to find a flautist and form a Jethro Tull tribute act. With some fuzz it's a great Sleep tone. And when you put the Dark Master and the reverb on it the amp makes me want to play songs about wizards in space and laser ghosts. That takes pedals really well.
I saw Sleep (w/ Neurosis) in 1996 at the Casbah in San Diego. I can't remember what models they were but EVERYTHING they were playing through was Green amplification!! Life changing show..
The Drive and Treble knobs are a Holy Godsend. Thing makes beautiful and powerful sound. That's the most gnarly sound. That's a momster amplifier. Killer demo. Loop track riffing into the front while EQing the amp on tape is genius. Great way to show off an amp. Great video. Definitely want one now haha. People so often show off amps in demo videos jamming mystery settings with pedals for minutes and you never know how they really end up sounding and work haha. Amazing demonstration of the versatility and power of this amplifier. Def need one someday now hahahh

DAAAAYYYUM Green amps are sooo underrated i love their tone!
Sadly, I haven’t had the pleasure of playing one myself, but much like the Beta Lead, are bucket list amps. Your FET120 is a killer homage to that sound. By itself, it’s totally great. With a muff, (for me, especially the Dronemaster,) that amp sounds utterly unstoppable. Love the puppos and the sweet delayed blues licks! Great as always! Cheers!
Hi ! Great video dude as usual 😎 I’ve just received my gt120mv yesterday, and it’s awesome 💪🤘. What do you think about input 1 vs 2 ? Considering using fuzz, delay,…. For my first tests, delay and time fx seemed to be out of control with input 2 (using a Yamaha sg-1000, on neck pickup). What is your advice ? Many thanks 🙏
i think he’s said in interviews he always wanted a fuzzy tone, not like a regular hi gain amp. Ironic now that he’s using Rivera but oh well. He did use different overdrive pedals alongside the Matamp though.
What looks to be an older GT120 seems to be Wata from Boris’ favorite amp. Just got a Kuro T120 and am blown away by it, but still really want to try a real Matamp head.
Maybe one day I will get one. Sounds great by itself and with pedals. Cannot go wrong with this amp. For the time being, I am very pleased with my Kuro T120 preamp pedal which is the Matamp GT120 in pedal format. Not good with puppy dog names, Zeus and Fuzzy maybe.
I’m greatly appreciative for this video. Im stuck between gt120, gt1 , and the orange rocker verb 50. Klaus, Winston , earl, and butch if your pups are males. Daphne, Penelope, Gertrude, Mimi if females
I love the sound of Matamps, but I think I would only considere one if they had a functional FX loop. Kane and Hal would be cool, but on the other hand they are probably to cute for such names
I talked myself out of ordering a GT120MV when the British Pound crashed. I ended up buying an Orange TH30, which was ridiculous as I don’t have any issues with noise at all. I can play as loud as I please in my part of the city. I think I decided against the Master Volume version and I’m looking at the GT150 now. Anyone wanna buy a barely used Orange TH30? Great amp for apartment dwellers or those with neighbor concerns I do not have at all.
Peanut and milkshake. Congrats on the puppers. I have 3 little weenies myself. They’re the best. I actually didn’t care for the sound of the amp on its own. I preferred it with pedals. I enjoyed the clean tone at the end, not sure I’ve ever really one played clean and I liked it.
Those puppies are really cute Jason! I was looking into how to get one of those Green amps the other day actually. I was watching your video about the Emperor cab and was wondering what wattage the Weber Gray Wolf was at as well as the Dope amount and the Dust cap size.
Hi man, I also have one, but it seems to have a low volume compared to another amp I have, which is an Ibanez H100. I don't understand why, but even the volume boost doesn't seem to increase the volume. When playing without a microphone, I have to turn it up almost to the maximum, but the sound comes out perfectly, it doesn't seem to have any issues. Do you think this is normal? I have a Line 6 150-watt 8-ohm speaker, and I connect it to the corresponding input at 8 ohms.
Noob question, i have heard the cabinet and the speakers has more influence on the sound than amps. But the focus in most videos is on the amp not on speaker 2/4x12s. Is the amp more of the doom sound or the speakers
I think you should name one of the puppies Weazlor. Or Weazlord. I've had weiner dogs before...they're weasely. Get them some blankets to help with the constant shivering, lol.

Matt Pike's Matamp on "Art of the Self-Defense sounds" huge. God, I'm in love with Baghdad's tone from that album
I think Hank 3 owns Matt’s amps now
@@joshferguson9703 He owns Matt's cabs, his amps are in a bunch of different hands.
Windhand man, one of the best riff based bands going!
And her vocals are so perfect in the mix!

I'm from the small town were they're made. Awesome sounding amp. As for the pups what about OZZY and GEEZER?
Have you done the tour there?, highly recommend it. They make awesome amps and the best mug of tea outside of a roadside van.
I'm about 5 miles from them.
Sweet Nomad and Emperor cabs btw. Great audio and video quality. Legit RUclips Greatness. Rock on! Thank you for the demonstration!
Thank you!
Loving that tone from min 9 on. Wow
Thanks!

Nothing else even comes close to looking as cool as the Green matamps.
Hell yeah!
I saw Sleep (w/ Neurosis) in 1996 at the Casbah in San Diego. I can't remember what models they were but EVERYTHING they were playing through was Green amplification!! Life changing show..
Amazing how you show the versatility you sir do know how to dwell in many genres including the deep roots of country/blues
What a amazing amp Jason !!
thanks!
I own the master volume amp. It’s the gnarliest fuzz tone I’ve heard, it really does the doom thing.
Nice!!! Such cool and rare amps!
The Drive and Treble knobs are a Holy Godsend. Thing makes beautiful and powerful sound. That's the most gnarly sound. That's a momster amplifier. Killer demo. DAAAAYYYUM Green amps are sooo underrated i love their tone!
Not only does the amp sound outstanding by itself ,
it sounds like it takes fuzz Pedals very well!
You can fell the world falling when this amp is cranked, what a f... huge sound
Just ordered mine today❤
Nice!
The Amp sounds awesome Jason!
Thank you so much for making this video !
As for the pup names:
Bandit and Roman!
They are cutest pups ever!
Sadly, I haven’t had the pleasure of playing one myself, but much like the Beta Lead, are bucket list amps. Your FET120 is a killer homage to that sound.

Dream amp 🖤. Awesome playing too man
Thanks!
lovely daschunds! 💖
Thanks!
Oh Lord! That Amenra riff is epic!
Thanks!! They are such a good band
Amenra !!!
Such a good band!

Have always been surprised by Chino using one of these amps. Sounds great though!
i think he’s said in interviews he always wanted a fuzzy tone, not like a regular hi gain amp. Ironic now that he’s using Rivera but oh well. He did use different overdrive pedals alongside the Matamp though.
Great demo!
My non-master volume GT120 will be delivered next week, and I cannot wait to blast the front end of it with my Fuzz Throne.
Glorious
🙏
I wish there were more clean sounding demos of Matamp amps like this
Conan and Matt!
The T60 combo sounds rad.
🙏
Sounds like a great amp, definitely something you can stack with.
Boss Keloid from the UK used a Green Matamp stack on stage. I saw them twice last year and they were fabulous both times!
Dragonaut would be a cool dog name, you could call him Drago
Wow !!! What a beast !!
What looks to be an older GT120 seems to be Wata from Boris’ favorite amp. Just got a Kuro T120 and am blown away by it, but still really want to try a real Matamp head.
I love mine!
Sounds great
Just finished the podcast episode, another dope one !
Thanks for listening!
THE PUPPIES!😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sleep & Bongzilla would be my faves as far as Green crushers go! I'd love to own one.
I always think of Chino in Deftones using one !

Kane and Hal would be cool, but on the other hand they are probably to cute for such names
The send and return on the front of the amp...
But isn't it passive?
Yes it’s passive and meant for a specific echo reverb unit that is made by Matamp. It isn’t really what we think of as a modern fx loop for pedals etc
Love that swampy sounding finger picking at the end, that was dope man 🤘🏻what model Tele is that, Jason?
It’s a MIM from the 90s, was my Dads and it’s one I’ll always have (:
wat was the song he was playing starting from 9:03
a solitary reign - amenra
Thanks m8
Jimmy and Dean for puppy names

My girlfriend read about you having 3 weenies and now she's all like "Why don't YOU have 3 weiners?!?" Good lookin' out, bro! 🤬
you know what, I can get very similar sounds
with my acapulco gold pedal on the clean channel of my tube amp and an eq
Hank III baby
I wish you could demo my Matamp GT40 after some mods I did!
Name them puppies Fuzz & Circuit ♥
Jésus Christ that sounds so good.
Are you still loving your gt120mv after having it for a while?
My name suggestion for the pups
Buzzo and Dale
10:10 maybe I’m just high but I’m getting dsbm and goth metal vines like forgotten tomb type shit
🙏
Those puppies are really cute Jason! I was looking into how to get one of those Green amps the other day actually. I was watching your video about the Emperor cab and was wondering what wattage the Weber Gray Wolf was at as well as the Dope amount and the Dust cap size.
I'd name the dogs Sunn and Green. Great amp as well.
yes!
Greenie and Sunny
Damn, favorite dog breed!
Tonalicious
Perhaps some day I get my hands on one of these Matamps... but my Orange gets pretty close anyway :D
Is input 2 more gain?
Do you use an attenuator for bedroom volumes or is the master volume enough to get the tones you want?
The master volume works great really! I just use a load box when recording but otherwise just okay through a cab with master volume set low
Dee Dee and Ramone for the puppies
Haha great names!
is the gt lineup the highest gain amps matamp offers?
Perhaps Tony and Geezer for the pups, or maybe Eddie and Murray. Maybe even banjo and dobro
Since they're a pair, call one Chocolat and the other, Chip
PUPPIES!!!!!!!
I suggest calling the two pups Atila and Genghis.
Call the Weiner bros Lil Dopesmoker and Lil Supernaut
I want to pull the trigger on one but I like to use a lot of delay and modulation reverb in Fx loop etc how is the Fx loop on this model?
Pike and Iommi for the Weiner Bros™
Do you always set to premier on the witching hour? 😅
I work days on pedals and nights on videos (;
Hi man, I also have one, but it seems to have a low volume compared to another amp I have, which is an Ibanez H100. Dog name suggestions Fuzzy and Doomer
Your pup definitely looks like a "Geddy"
I dig it!
Could you put up a demo of this amp not playing doom and with standard tuning? I can’t find one anywhere lol
Wrong channel for that 😂
Noob question, i have heard the cabinet and the speakers has more influence on the sound than amps. But the focus in most videos is on the amp not on speaker 2/4x12s. Is the amp more of the doom sound or the speakers
Both 🙌
Name one BeanBoy and the other Cheese Curd
Mr. Bungle and Rust.
Name the dogs Matt and Pike
Killer amp🤘
Pup names…
Cheech & Chong😎
Dang. I thought you were giving away puppies for a second....
How close really is this to the OR120? If I wanted to only buy a brand new amp, is this the best way to go?
There is another video on the channel where I talk about some of the specific differences!
@@FuzzlordEffects I'll have a look for it. Thanks.
Awesome video, awesome amp, thanks for my daily dose of doom
Weiner pup names? How about Oscar and Mayer?
Edit: Spelling
Geezer/Iommi for dog names.
Dog names: Iommi and Pike ;)
Name one dog Hossa and the other Shaw after the Blackhawks players
Sex sells! But, you know, puppies are a close second. 😄
Dog names: Rat and Muff
I think you should name one of the puppies Weazlor. Or Weazlord. I've had weiner dogs before...they're weasely. Get them some blankets to help with the constant shivering, lol.
Oscar and Myer
Oh, wrong Doom … I let myself out.
Usually noise
I dunno, but I’m starting a band called “The Wiener Bros.”
