  • I continue working trying to keep the dust under control. I hope this helps me with this task. The idea is to keep the shopvac clean and collect the dust in a way that is easy to dispose of.

    A suggestion - swap your stack. Put the shop vac on top and the dust deputy/chips bin below. Seal the open on the side of the shop vac; cut an equivalent hole at the bottom instead. Then you can run a short hose from the vac straight down to the Dust Deputy. You will get much better results.

      Good suggestion! I put the bin on top thinking that gravity will help to collect the chips, but that was not the case. The idea works for "normal" use, like sanding, cleaning the areas, etc. However, when I use it with the planner, is not good. The blower in the planner is 3 times more powerful than the shop vac, so all the chips collapse the Dust Deputy and the entire collection just stop working. I'm still looking for a solution.
