God willing you don’t get any injuries Cam, you’re gunna do so well. Because you’re young, super trail fit and you’ve been training hard. 26 miles per day is a really achievable goal. You got this!!

Well, welcome to California, Cam Bostock. You look young and strong, and you did good mileage on your first day. I get it, that you don't want to overdo it right away. But I'm sure you'll pick up the pace soon enough. You will have to, because you're starting late in the season and the chance of fires will be high. It will be interesting to see if you're a "purist" or a "take the easy way" kind of hiker. Good luck. Will be following.

Welcome to California, Cam! California is my home state. I'm no retired and living on Maui. My wife and I have hiked over 1,800 miles of the PCT. Last year we hiked all of Oregon. We are former Trail Angels (for 15 years) from San Diego. We've hiked from the Southern Terminus to Mount Laguna (and portions thereof) about 12 times. Enjoy your personal adventure. Stay safe.

Happy Trails to you! Thank you for sharing your adventures. I hiked part of the PCT at Carson Pass NorCal.. amazing snow and wildflowers in summer. Doing some hiking in AZ desert with my son. U see animals active a.m. and eve.. some say follow their example and siesta afternoons. Be safe, keep your phone charged (it's a mom thing) and enjoy the journey!

I came across you from your Instagram page. You are going to see a lot of amazing views in the SoCal mountains. l'm not a hiker, but I drive my 4x4 in the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains. The PCT crosses and parallels the 4x4 trails. I'll be looking forward to more PCT footage.

Sounds great! Good luck. Just a question…. you have to go ahead of where you are and leave your camera set up and go back and walk to get it on the camera? That seems a little weird. I know it’s more for the video but you’re really doing extra steps. I think just holding it in your hand is good, but it’s not me.

Most PCT vlogs I’ve seen travel south to north, can you go north to south or is it a one way sort of deal?
People call it SOBO and they start at the Canadian border usually later in the year around July. Not sure what the exact percentage is but I’m pretty sure it’s something like 80% of hikers start out at the southern border.
Do not forget to get your permit from the natives
