Yes, tomato plants are edible, but some parts are more edible than others: Leaves Young tomato leaves are edible and have a strong herbal aroma and delicious flavor. They can be prepared like other garden greens, such as kale or cabbage, or used in sauces and herbal tea. They are also rich in phytonutrients. However, tomato leaves contain the alkaloids tomatine and solanine, which are toxic. According to Toxic Plants of North America, an adult human would need to eat at least a pound of tomato leaves to experience harmful effects. So moderation in all things.

Sean, as for the West Germany label on that beverage container, Germany was divided into West & East in 1949 , 73 years ago. Prior to that it was just Germany.
Ooh I could’ve ate that roast dinner ,I showed my husband he was envious too ,Since we’ve been living in Florida I don’t do many roast dinners now except Christmas and Easter
Great finds today, useful items too. The dinner looked delicious. Sean, I've had great luck sprinkling paprika around my veges and plants to keep the pests away. Of course, I had to sprinkle it fairly often. It worked for us and we didn't notice any harmful effects to the plants or us. Good luck, your greenhouse veges and herbs look wonderful.
It looks like a great day out for all of you. Some delightful bargains. The garden at Sam's Mum's is stunning. Yummy lunch!!! Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Hi, Sean! I just looked up when you mentioned it about eating tomatoes green leafs, and it says that you can eat them just don't over do it. As a matter of fact it gave recipe for making a twist on ' Pesto ' with the leafs and also another one to make it like spinach. 😋 So I don't know why the conflict . I'm still going to try it I'll let you know. Cheers!
I am a new subscriber, thank you for this lovely stroll of your day in the countryside! At lunch, what are those rolls that are in the shape of a small 'cup', and what is that syrupy stuff you are pouring into them?
I give you 10 years maximum in France and then you will return to home; I have watches so many family going back to the UK and its a pity but 10 years seems to be cut off moment
Hi everyone, just to be clear you CANNOT eat tomato plant leaves as someone had suggested to me in a previous comment.
Right. They are loaded with poison, no kidding.

Thanks Jo 🥰
Great video lots of great finds and an awesome meal.💚 loved the look of the potatoes and carrots . Never seen them cooked like that .
Hi Sean! If you put a small saucer (pie pan) out in your green house with some beer in it the slugs will go to it instead of your plants!
There's never no beer left 😉👍
Your greenhouse garden is looking lush 😍
It looks like a great day out for all of you. Some delightful bargains. The garden at Sam's Mum's is stunning. Yummy lunch!!! Thanks for sharing your day with us.
I read somewhere where it said to place slices of orange rind around your veges to stop the slugs. ive tried it and so far it seems to be working
Good tip Kay, ty 🥰

Normally duck fat, but that time we used grape seed oil
Yum, the food looks great, what is a yorkshire? From US, Tn so don't know what it is. Lol Need to research it I guess. Enjoyed the video.
It's made from milk, water, flour and eggs like a popover in America 😋👍
You should try them they are lovely, not a Sunday roast without them
oh my need know more about what you was you putting gravey on? rolls ? they were pretty
I eat the leaves and they taste mild. They taste a bit earthy and are great in pesto
Green rhubarb.. do you have red varieties there as well?. I far prefer the reds over the green for all desserts.
I am a new subscriber, thank you for this lovely stroll of your day in the countryside!
At lunch, what are those rolls that are in the shape of a small 'cup', and what is that syrupy stuff you are pouring into them?
