As someone who lives in Melbourne, 55 dollars for all that food seems about right. However, the Australian dollar isnt worth as much as the American dollar, so it comes to around 36 American dollars. And yes, there are so many amazing places to eat in the city, you are going to love it here!

You should try the following from Katik Turkish Take Away, 349 Barry Rd, Campbellfield: 1. Double Adana wrap with all salads, garlic sauce and chilli sauce. 2. Mixed doner kebab with extra meat, all salads, garlic sauce and chilli sauce. 3. Lamb Iskender container. Best kebabs in Melbourne!
You should explore the in restauraunt experience, it would be much more fun getting the employees reactions to your weird expectations of food and orders. I always thought there was heaps of unique options at aussie maccas, i think there used to be with the McFancy range but that died off during covid. Plus that is so much food for only $50ish!

Don't get me wrong, as a Sydney-sider myself, the food culture has really progressed here quite a lot the last decade, but Melbourne is still king. Ben, head to Flinders Lane in the downtown/CBD & check out the hole in the wall cafes... Unbelievably good coffee & small eats galore. Also, South Melbourne market. Trust me.
Check out the restaurants on lygon street I’d get a chance, mainly Italian but lots of different choices, but definitely worth a visit while in Melbourne
