Hey Ben, noticed several people recommending Oporto. They're Okay but quite bland. Nandos is better for Chicken. Ogalo in Sydney is Much Better than Oporto for Portuguese Chicken Burgers (Sandwiches). If you do get the Chance to go to Sydney, try Ogalo. The spice is good, you can always ask for more. imo the Hot Ogalo Burger(Sandwich) is really tasty. The Chips n Gravy is good too. Oh yeah and if you are in Sydney, also try Chinatown and Koreatown.

the carrot is like ... kimchi. its a side dish thats usually like swimming in like a spicy vinegary thing with jalapenos. i see it in taquerias in cali from time to time. carrots, onions, beets, jalapenos. its great!

You should try Eljannah. Can't get it in melbourne city-- but if you travel out into the suburbs there's a few chains in outer melbourne. Well worth with their garlic charcoal chicken.

Gyg has the option to pick from brown rice or the standard white rice. By the price you paid, doesnt look like the mini size, unless you added every extra on there, and the tenders definitely not the price you mentioned
GYG ain’t cheap, but it’s the realest food of the takeaway options. The ingredients are really good quality and you don’t feel shit after eating it , it also keeps me full for ages. It not all fried and is full of flavour, but with out the added sugar and other random crap. You feel satisfied after eating it.
Not sure if you've noticed but the quality of life in Australia is apparently higher than the US, we have higher minimum wage and free healthcare along with many other benefits of living in a relatively small country (compared to the US.) the tradeoff is that our expenses are usually higher, so yes you will end up paying quite a bit for takeaway, especially if you choose to buy through food delivery services which tends to make charges 10%-15% higher than if you'd gone and purchased in-store.
