Imagine 4000 years ago you are out tending to your animals. . .and you think to yourself. . .ah the clouds feel nice today. . .only to remember there are no clouds today. . .and to look up and see the sun, the most important thing in existence to people for thousands of years. . .slowly being devoured by the most ominous and terrifying shadow you have ever witnessed. . .if people today can't understand why these people were religious then I dunno what to say to them. I just witnessed it at 1.005 magnitude, here just outside of dallas. I have never seen anything so incredible and I have never felt this way. It made me start crying and I dont really know why. But it was incredible beyond words. And I'm a modern human with a college education. I just can't imagine how it felt seeing this 100s or 1000s of years ago. Its incredible. . .I feel just so fortunate to be alive and experience this today. . .
The sounds of the mourning doves and tree frogs coming out, a rooster crowing in the distance.. it was amazing here in Ashtabula, Ohio. Unsettling how quiet it got when all the birds stopped chirping. The shadows got so long, we felt like we were outside of time. Best thing I’ve ever seen in the sky
@goodstuffmaynerd Thank you! I was trying to give a perspective from someone who didn't experience the eclipse in a large crowd or parade event. I'll never forget this day. ❤️
Lil Billy was so excited to see the eclipse, he was finally seeing the aura during totality, and then Lester and Al were like HEY BILLY, LOOK, LOOK, HEY, DO YOU LiKe ECLIPsES, HEY
Saw it. Felt the temperature drop when it darkened. Heard the frog noises and then they shut up when the skies brightend. Glad I didn't spend a small fortune on a road trip just for it but it was something worth experiencing if it was nearby. The ring in totality was the best part. Seeing it with the naked eye is different than the picture on this video. Or maybe my old eyes saw it different. Lol
I sent my buddy a pic and he responded "this thing doesn't affect my life in any way" shut up!!! Hahaha why does everyone have to be so negative...it was a cool thing to witness...get over yourselves

Absolutely 👏 amazing I was standing in the garage it got dark and I thought it would rain. 😀 How it does that is simply amazing. I forgot about it was to happen!😊
Meanwhile here in South Florida... 🌓. But one of my neighbors had a telescope with an eclipse lens on it which brought it even closer! It was still pretty awesome! (Along with my approved eclipse sunglasses of course.)
I got chills as the excitement of the crowd got to see this phenomenon. I’m in upper part of California so there was virtually no eclipse here to see. I didn’t have eclipse glasses anyway. I envy these people. I wanted to see the eclipse! Lol
Actually there are solar eclipses every year. They are just visible at various locations around the world and only in CommieMerica is it commercialized and profitized.
The one who created this beautiful thing that so many got excited about willsoon be coming in clouds of glory and i do hope they will be this excited in His return !!
I had the fortune to see long time ago an eclipse like this one. I remember I was 10 yrs old and living in Mexico City. It was the best experience of my life. ❤😊
That's funny because I just watched a video from Texas and they showed it perfectly. Then Boston showed it and it was all cloudy and you could barely see it. Wisconsin here, the sun has been shining without interuption all day. Wth? I think it's all bs.
Well Houston I saw it through the over cast it was odd actually the sun popped out right as the eclipse started happening. I was hoping it would get that dark, and I was expecting it to but nope. Dallas got all the shadowy night sky greatness 😂 hopefully I'm not dead or blind by the next one. What am I talking about I'm gonna be around much longer than any of you 😂.

I'm in Northern Virginia. You missed it. A little less than an hour ago sun was 90% blocked out. But it's not nearly as noticeable as if you are directly in the path of totality, which we are not. It looked darker outside and the quality of light was different, but if you wanted to see the sun being blocked out you'd need to look at it with special glasses, otherwise it was still too bright to see anything.
Imagine how our ancestors felt ! Not knowing how or why
. Fascination about space has been our curiosity for millenniums

Our ancestors had huge celebrations as they thought the sun died and a new sun was born,or they screamed and thought they were going to perish .
Funny thing is the ancestors actually knew when it would happen they were light years ahead of us information lol
Yeah I definitely think you underestimate our ancestors. They probably knew more about astrology and things of that nature then most of us do today.
@Ramz_-iu7sd The did, they were more in tune with nature. Of course I am not talking about the Dark Ages in Europe.
Dallas Texas had a great view their location was the best. What a terrific sight for a leap year.
Happy Solar Eclipse 2024 Day.
