I've seen the small (26") H&M canard and it just looks a bit too "Buck Rogers" for my tastes. Their larger "Speed Run" canard (34") looks more appealing......
I would try the front like you stated but smaller because there's not much stability and it's not going to take much movement to turn, but I would also tie it to a back rudder. All working off of one servo that could be put anywhere closer to the balance point. Just my opinion
@@Dr_Jet you also mentioned painting. We talked about the last boat you and I painted and I sent you pictures of mine. Well I'm painting another one and this time I used paint from a company called kustom cans, yes with a "k". They are excellent 👌 it's automotive paint in a spray can. It was so much nicer working with quality paint instead of store spray paint. The paint dries fast, 24hrs it's ready to buff. I did a candy apple red and omg it's beautiful. The clear is a 2part spray that mixes in the can. It's twice as expensive as store bought but well worth it. Anyway that you might like it
Pretty neat ideas! RUclips doesn't like me posting links for some reason, so I'lll try this comment again..😅 Have you seen this insane thing called a "Shadow Six Typhoon RC"? Yes, there is a full scale version and it's nuts!🤯
RUclips will only allow you to post RUclips links.... I have seen a "catamaran" thing that has a scissors mechanism of sorts and shifts from high-profile to low-profile. Sea Prowler 99 RC Boat Shadow Shifter
@@Dr_Jet Yeah, that's the thing.. it was a link to a RUclips video! 😆 I always reload the video and check the comments to see if it stuck.. and nope, every time.🤷♂
There's been a few Canard attempts. The Lee Taylor speed record boat, he died. And in the alky outboard world of racing a friend of my fathers had an experimental one built by the late Ralph DeSilva. 1st lap he pulled the pipes on that boat went to the moon right in front of the pitts about 30 feet in front of us, and his son. Ron never raced again. Canard hydro's were the worst design to ever be built and costed lives and injured people. I've seen many horrific wrecks, that one is at the top of the list. No, rc we don't have to worry about killing people! But because of what I've seen of real Canard hydros run, I'm die hard against them
Hi Doc,

I like the idea of two steering devices working in conjunction.......
