@teachateaudiy It's a head-scratcher for sure! Of all places, why put something like that there? I wonder if it's one of those architects that thinks standing out is a synonym for outstanding.
Jane I absolutely loved this video. Oh my word the town is so lovely. I could have just sat in that beautiful, beautiful church just listening to the bells. I laughed when you said " where have they gone". I'm like you Jane I take all the photos and videos and always get left behind too. You are really good at filming and I love how you explain about the history of the places and buildings.
The bells gave real authenticity to the medival Town, it was fascinating. The beautiful château made me think of Disney Land ❤ I'll have a look at your friends château de Quantilly 😊
What a beautiful place the building 's are lovely thanks Jane for taking us along on your trip.good use of the old telephone box too, Take care and see you soon 💕🌼🤗
Hi there Jane and Tony! That medieval house and the cathedral beside it are amazing! A walk back in time! So many bells ringing- I think they knew you were there!
Happy Birthday Jane! 🎉❤🎂 I heard it was your birthday on Patrick and Stewart's channel. I love to watch your videos of your french life, thank you for sharing it with us. Wishing you the best year ever ❤❤❤🎉
Hi! I love your videos! Even in the USA we had watch towers in our cities and towns. They were fire watch towers. We still have one in the major city close to me. I hope that you both had a nice time! You both have been working so hard!
What an amazing little town. Easy to walk and very historic. That scene in the beginning with the fast moving water reminds me of a fish ladder. Lovely day out!❤️
Hi Jane and Tony, fabulous vlog. What a beautiful and fascinating town with so much history and magnificent buildings. I also have fallen in love with all those brocantes. Thanks for bringing us along. X😘🇨🇮
Thanks for the tour of this gorgeous town. So many amazing buildings. That church was so beautiful. My kind of heaven with those interesting markets and shops. Love that Brocante I could spend hours in there. Gary and Jo have a lovely Chateau too
Thank you for the walk-about, Jane! Such interesting architectural details ❤ Oh what a precious gift of a Chapel star; I purchased one to commemorate my parents and also because my dad was born in EU and my mum's ancestry comes from LA Perche are of France on her father's side. 😊
Thanks for taking us along on your weekend . Looked like a lovely time off. All those flower pots and trellises tell me that town must be absolutely beautiful in the spring.
A Beautiful town and so odd to see a British telephone box😁 My a lot has been done at the Chateau since the last visit Jane. Loved watching, Thankyou for sharing Jane😘
Glad you enjoyed it Maureen, yes there are a lot of Scottish connections around here and we often hear the pipes, our town is twinned with Dunbar, so there are often events here associated with that. Ayrshire must be lovely, we've been to Glasgow and to Govan for Hogmanay, but not to Ayr, I bet it's very pretty and the old thatched cottage sounds cute xx
well worth a visit Mike, maybe a stopover for you though if it's 3 hours drive! the Chateau Stuart museum is open from May I think, and the big Scottish celebrations are in July, with pipe bands parading round the castle and town
What a wonderful time you all had. Gary has done so much work. I thought John was there when I saw the hole in the ceiling. LOL. The town was awesome. Tony looked good in the kilt.😅 The church is beautiful. Why did the bells ring so long? Were they for mass? Beautiful shops and flea markets. Lots of nice things at that brocante. I did like that seretaire as well as the wardrobe. I am happy you both enjoyed your visit. Thanks for sharing. The architecture in the town is stunning. Cheers.
Thank you for that Peter, I don't know why the bells rang so long, there wasn't any sign of a service coming up, or a wedding or anything. It was lunchtime on market day/Saturday maybe they were just practising? but we were lucky to hear them ringing it was lovely and nice for the vlog too, added an ambience I think x
Beautiful village what is the name of it. ? Do you get honey? Locally. ? I enjoy this very much. I will never get to europe. That chateau is beautiful. .yes I would love to see more of this Chateau.
Aubigny - sur - Nere, Raynona. The Chateau de Quantilly was previously featured in my video " Not Quite a Chateau DIY 198, you should be able to search for that or find it in my list of videos on my channel xx
Aubigny-sur-Nere center of Scottishness! going back to 1400? Land grants were awarded to Scots for victory over the English! I always wonder why Scotland attracted so many French tourists. Many remained in France finding the weather and life very agreeable.
One of my sons lives in a 15th century cottage with an inglenook fireplace, oak beams and an original bread oven. There’s not a straight wall or level floor in the whole building!!
It's so great to see these beautiful places...and almost no advertising signs plastered all over!
We agree Deb xx
Out done yourself on this video ,very interesting ,Thanks Jane ❤
Glad you enjoyed it Sylvia xx
totally agree with your comment about that hideous building between that 11th C tower of Philippe Auguste. Amazing that was allowed to happen.
It's such a shame Ron, especially in such a historic town

Amazing getaway Jane like dropping into a time of the long ago lost.
It was Tony, thanks
What a lovely, relaxing time for you Jane & Ton. Tell him a kilt over slacks is an insult to our forebears.
I don't think I could convince Tony to take his trousers/slacks off to stand behind a metal kilt!! thanks for watching LOL
Great video loved it 🤗👍💐

All of your region in The Berry I believe has a great Scottish connection
yes Steve, the Scots helped the French against us English!
@@notquiteachateaudiy ‘Good ol Scot’s’ !!!!!!! 🤨😏

Love seeing your adventures. Do people really live in the Medival buildings?
Yes Todd, a lot of those houses are inhabited and some are used publicly, such as the first one, which is an art gallery
One of my sons lives in a 15th century cottage with an inglenook fireplace, oak beams and an original bread oven. There’s not a straight wall or level floor in the whole building!!
Cafe food look yummy, but not as good as your Sausage n Mash, Jane 🙂
😋thanks Steve
Do this couple with the chateau have a utube channel?
Sorry Jen they don't
Your bedroom in the intro didn’t look that comfortable, maybe they left the paint out for you 😳
I didn't film our room Steve, just the en suite bathroom! Our room was gorgeous
@@notquiteachateaudiy …….. my attempt at humour jane, obviously it didn’t work as humour 😂😂
