    "I have gigged the heck out of this guitar!" "It's pretty rough looking" That guitar is cleaner than many brand new guitars hanging on the store walls! It's refreshing seeing someone that takes care of their gear! With all the relicing these days, and everyone talking how a banged-up guitar has character, I wondered if I was just being OCD trying to keep my instruments as nice as possible, It's refreshing to see a gigging musician with a pristine guitar that's had lots of play time! Killer video my friend, you guys offer some fabulous products! Oh yeah, your playing is killer too!

      i dent my guitars just by looking at them, polyurethane finish is not immune. You're thinking of polyester resin, that is indeed rock-hard and extremely durable.

    • @j_freed
      @j_freed 4 года назад

      @@mentalitydesignvideo - you can dent a poly finished guitar if the body wood is an inexpensive type of basswood.
      Better quality basswood or alder, not so much. I have an 85 Japan Strat that is impossible to dent.

    Every business has a "secret menu". I was 15 in 1985 and the Scorps were my band. This would have been right around Rock You Like A Hurricane time period. Matthias Jabs was the one who got me to pick up a guitar. The local music store in the little town I grew up in was a BC Rich distributor, so I bought a Warlock (Mick Mars also a huge influence) with a Big Muff pedal and a Fender Deluxe Reverb. That was my first rig. I had a tuning fork that I would slap on my knee, tune the A string, then backtrack and tune the rest to the A. I didn't get my first real tuner till two years later. But when you have to tune like that, it makes you develop your ear and when you play an out of tune guitar, you know it immediately. I love all three of those "oddball" guitars, and the SD JB pickup is the best pickup ever made. I have them in all my Warmoth guitars. When you split the coils, you can get a fantastic Strat tone. And the full on growl of it in humbucker mode it legendary.

    I have a 18 year old American Fender '62 re-issue Strat that I put a Warmoth neck on right after I bought it. It has a compound radius rosewood fretboard, corian nut, Sperzel tuners and 21 small frets.with a head stock adjustable truss rod. It still plays like a dream all the way up the scale.

    Awesome video Aaron. All three guitars are sweet! Love one off guitars! That's one of the best reasons to buy WARMOTH BODIES AND NECKS! You can build custom guitars to your specks. Jackson is my favorite production guitars. Fender keeps making cheapest versions they can. Figured tops are so thin I don't know if it's real or just a photo! Buy from WARMOTH and get top QUALITY parts made in the USA. Love reverse Arcade head stocks. I call the extra point the rino horn on my WARMOTH necks. I also get the wizard profile. Those necks are so AMAZING they put Jackson's necks to shame. I also love the bridge pickup only and one knob set-up. I could go on all day about WARMOTHS AMAZING QUALITY.
    I'll be glad when life gets back to normal. I hope everyone stays safe!!!

    Awesome video. I love the guitars. yeah, The blue green one flame maple scalloped fret with a Floyd rose but is way cool!!! Keep up the great videos. And I love the LPs on the wall. I also have the old Jackson headstock on my V2. I was mad when I had to get a nomad neck last year for my soloist I built...I wish Ken would have just paid the licensing fees so he could make the older models that have been discontinued. i.e. PRS, Gibson, Jackson etc...It's a pain in the butt to hunt through Ebay looking for them. BTW, I never get stainless frets. They are too springy sounding.

    Excellent video Aaron! It would be nice to see some superwide necks and maybe discuss why certain shapes are not available anymore. For example, my 10-year old 25.5” bolt on Warmoth Les Paul is literally irreplaceable now that the Regal is what’s on offer and I’ve missed my opportunity to do a true Jackson Dinky-style Warmoth because of the Arcade neck. I’m not saying it would be an easy topic to cover, but it would be really nice to know why things are as they are. Thanks again, glad you remembered to say Keep on pickin’! and stay safe yourself. Much love from the UK.

    I'd love it if Warmoth made regular 24 fret necks with no fretboard overhang. With a full scallop, it doesn't make sense to me to not have the last two frets scalloped as well. I wonder how much the manufacturing process would need to be adjusted for that.

    • @warmoth
      @warmoth  4 года назад

      All Warmoth's products are based on Fender's original 2-3/16" neck pocket specs, and have to be compatible with that. A 24 fret neck with no overhang would not be, and that's why we don't do it. Hope that makes sense!

    I want an all maple tele with a wizard neck partially scalloped with a 17 or so inch radius and reversed headstock. Locking gold tuners, only side fret markers, a set of gold brass emg pickups. Either a humbucker mini humbucker combo or humbucker single coil combo. I want a locking trem with mixed gold and silver parts. I was gold knobs and switches using push pull pots for splitting. I want the body to be stained a perfect sunburst, and then painted seafoam green and weathered until you can see both finishes. Top it off with a mint pick guard and bam, the best guitar for me. I’ve never played a 7/8 guitar but I like the idea so maybe if I liked the size.

    Ibanez' JEM has demonstrated 30 years ago that it is very well possible to scallop the topmost frets right up to the 24th. in fact, the top 4 or 5 ones are all that Steve Vai ever commissioned to be scalloped in the first place. So: no, it it is not impossible to scallop the top frets.

    Too bad it took a world wide pandemic to show us the guitars with odd-ball features. We like Odd-ball. That is why we order custom parts from Warmoth otherwise we would be buying stuff from GC. I would like to see a Soloist body with the heel contour matched with a 24 fret neck. Then show us how easy it is to fret and bend down at the neck joint. Maybe that third guitar in your video is a good example? Does it have the heel contour? Can you get a shot of how easy it is to get your hand around the neck joint when needed without strain? Thanks.
