    Recommend removing the board before drilling. Any swarf lands on it and you'll get a short.

      If you're using a canned air duster yeah if you're using a high-powered air compressor there'll be nothing left in the computer when you blow it out

      Or sawing that throws embers anywhere near the electronics. It's a nice video to show it can be done, but safety went stage left when the word action was shouted from the director.

    Wouldn't it have been easier to disassemble your Dell computer, wear mechanic gloves, drill the holes to eliminate the cage, and then put it back together?

    NEVER dust a pc without holding the fan. it can damage the components of the pc.

    So, I've got a sff Inspiron 3471 that I want to do this to, but the screen on that faceplate is only about 2cm in height, at the bottom. There's room for a little fan on the inside of the case, right where I need it, and there wouldn't be anything obstructing flow. Do you think it's worth doing without modding the faceplate itself?

    • @RayFixesAll
      @RayFixesAll  6 месяцев назад +1

      I know the sff 9020 has one there already I would take a look at that and compare sizes like what size fan is there and everything and see if it'll work
