I had my ECU Re-flashed by Ivan's Rockland County Motorcycle in New York. In combination with his Power Commander map, my bikes power has been transformed.
That's great. I need to do some performance mods and get that ECU flash. I'm doing suspension first, but there is a strong case for that too. Love your videos. (BDazzler on the FZ1-forum)
Hey Mike. Yours seems to be running way better than mine. When you get a chance can you watch some of my videos and tell me what is wrong with mine in the lower revs. Especially under 5k when I get on the throttle it kinda of knocks. I don't know much about fuel maps. I don't know if it's running lean or rich down low. I will try and add pictures to my Google+ of my fuel map I don't have a clue how to decipher it.
The ecu flash removes the timing retardation that u get in the first 2 gears....that flat spot under 4k can be removed with an ecu flash....basically yamaha have taken out around half the power in the first two gears
It equates to about 300 RPM higher at freeways speeds than stock with no loss in MPG as it seems to run more efficient. I'd prefer that Yamaha would have given the FZ1 a wider ranger gearbox, but with the real power happening >6000 RPM, I needed to access it earlier to enjoy the twisty roads we have here.
Hey Mike...I should get my FZ flashed...Ha! Ha! I mean jetted. I have some new video from up north...check them out. You should make a trip up here. I could show you some roads you would love. Goaty stuff, fast smooth stuff. Awesome roads...not as many riders. Later
+David Spennachio Performance wise, I have Ivan's reflashed ECU, Yoshimura headers and TRC can, Power Commander PCIII, BMC air filter, modified air box, 16 Tooth front sprocket, Speedo DRD to correct the speed, Penske shock. For looks and ergonomics, I have Convertibars, Rizoma Rear-sets, CopperDawg SpeedScreen 2, Yamaha Comfort seat, Oxford heated grips. For utility, I have the SWMotech quick release luggage rack with a 46L topbox and the V35 side cases.

Yes, I run a 16 tooth front sprocket. Stock is a 17.

I just watched your last video. Seems normal to me, but you don't spend any time in the basement revs.
Mike Loosenut Thanks for checking. I remedy it by staying above 5k most of the time.
+TheFlyingTiger74 Mine runs fine below 5K but I have a hard time not riding above 5K RPM

Why change the front sprocket, do you like screaming it at freeway speeds? I wish 6th gear was taller so it would cruise better at freeway speeds...
