If there was a hipster game he would be the final boss
I CANT BELIEVE IT BUT 2:46 is actually me, I was running to help my friends shooting a music video and looked up briefly. Thanks Joe!
You’re really booking it. You must be a good friend that keen to help! Good work.
Dan Higginson I hope so, it turned out great!
It's a really really nice photo. Full of life.
Joe’s philosophy on street photography makes me want to start shooting street.
erwnalejo - same!
You should, it’s fun!
FramesPerSecond i definitey plan on doing it soon!
wow, the soundtracking at 3:25 with the cheer was so nostalgic. gave me chills
I love the New York series. Please make a video with Eduardo Pavez Goye.
Hey Joe,
Really love your videos. I've found them so motivating. I'm a commercial photographer but lost a bit of the passion for shooting my own personal work in recent years.
Watching you out on the street has got me out there again, loving the process again and really loving the rewards coming from the regular practice. Keep posting mate!
I miss this precovid NYC
Daniel Arnold! 5:06
so much life, street photography at its best!
He is so cool moving around in the streets. I wish his photos didn’t suck.
Wooooooow i love this video so much, huge fan of Joe
Wow, so fast shooting and such excellent results!
Awesome video. I think the energy of the city came through very well, great commentary by Joe.
Joe Greer is so rad! Thanks for making this!
i ❤ Joe Greer
NYC is just so expressive and spontaneous. In Toronto, I go to city hall or Queen Street or Trinity Bellwoods, but it can feel repetitive because everyone's so spread out even in the most concentrated areas of the city and there aren't the same pockets of hyperactivity. Of course, I shouldn't be blaming a location because as a photographer, you should be able to spy the beauty in the mundane, but it's just so easy to romanticize a cosmopolitan as big as New York. Anyway, love Joe's work and loving this video. Thanks for the inspo!
Same here in Melbourne. Shooting here needs so much concentration to spot the little things.
Yonge Dundas Square. Weird shit going on there 24/7 if that's what you're looking for
tbh the crazy sht in NYC gets old after a while. Maybe I need a change of scenery.
Everyone wants what they don’t have, I guess.
@@joeltunnah Wow, I made this comment 2 years ago, but my sentiments have definitely changed. I haven't done any street photography in Toronto in 2 years, but I don't crave the urban landscape as much as I did 2 years ago. Even Joe has moved out of NYC since. But yeah, we all want what we don't have, trying to chase the next new and interesting subject matter, and we grow uninspired of things really easily.
@@theundefinedphotographer sorry to dig up an old thread.😂 I grew up in Buffalo, so Toronto was my next best thing to NYC as a teen and 20-something. Saw lots of bands at The Opera House and other places in the early 90s. I thought it was a little wild and scary, but cool.😂
Be well.✌🏻
The shakiness of the video recording adds so much! I feel we've gotten so spoiled with seamless/stabilized footage it's nice to see real world feel if you would.
Implying they did it on purpose. lol
Loving your stuff lately 👊🏻
Bryan Birks thanks tons!
Great work, great philosophy!
This video made me fall in love with New York even more.
It doesn’t look like this anymore.
Which leica is he using? 28mm lens?
This was dope
joe couldnt help but stop and shoot them girls twerkin to Meg tha stallion lololololol.
this is beautiful
Love your hat, what is the style/manufacturer. Yes, I liked the video and subscribed. Thanks
Looks like a Stetson Open Range with a cowboy creased / dented crown.
Same as LBJ
LOVE it!!
Soo Good 🤙🏼
Any chance Joe could share what bag he's carrying? It looks really lovely.
awesome photographer
enjoyed video.
so much negativity in comments. guy outside enjoying the day, shooting film. what's not to like?
i am bemused by the sentiment that this isn't street photography. is there a strict definition to which i am not privy?
Leica + nyc = 🤯
Yo man love your content..please take that as a genuine compliment. There was a bit of b roll that I felt was out of context early in the video ...you were talking about skateboarders as well as other topics and the b roll wasn’t matching. It came off a little confusing and disorientating. That said, the last half of your video I really enjoyed. Keep up the good work fam.
whats the acoustic song?
i dont understand.. why casey affleck taking pictures of strangers in nyc street?!
Yo come to Leimert Part in LA!
Really cool video enjoyed that 👍🏻😊
Where is that leather bag from? Looks great!
Ona Bowery
don't really like the spray and pray technique. none of the photos were interesting
i think it's a great technique for beginner photographers and people who are still experimenting/looking for their own photo style. joe actually has some really interesting street photos he took outside new york. those would be, in my personal opinion, his best work.
If you think this is "spray & pray" then I honestly don't know what to tell you haha.
Ya what about this is spray and pray? Lol he's taking single manual shots
looks like Daniel Arnold @ min 5.7
Francis Bombus that is Daniel Arnold, he was a nice chap !
I’m going to be bold and say that I don’t rate this guy’s photos. Maybe I just don’t get them, but a lot of them just feel like snaps of nothing.
Leave Daniel alone!
Joe is one of the reasons the M6 is so ridiclousy expensive.
Hey my crew and I are in these photos! 2:47 and 6:32, you caught our set for a music video we just released, "Monarchs in Riverbeds" by Fouad Dakwar. Here's the full video if you want to see how it turned out :)
ruclips.net/video/Ii3aGqVV8SQ/видео.html
I love the instruction but not a fan of the location.
Seems like a nice guy, but the shots are very random and lacking what great street photos have. I guess it goes to show how difficult and rare it is to have an original voice. Hope he finds his.
We were actually shooting a music video in WSP this same day! If you're interested, you can watch the music video here: ruclips.net/video/Ii3aGqVV8SQ/видео.html
NYC has to survive this crisis of 2020...for the sake of worldwide culture
If you only get 5 five good shots from those rolls. Then you should just get a digital camera, otherwise you are just wasting money 😂
Most overrated photographer in history
Appreciate his passion tho
Random snapshots as you've done, aren't street photography !
Says you?
Boring photos, they feel like they've all been shot before. Shame.
ELR fair critique, but unnecessarily harsh choice of word maybe?
4:30 "buttons for the resistance" cringe, only thing these losers are "resisting" at this point is their own sanity
Audio is shit. Too bad it would have been a perfect video.
ca m you missed it, man
Joe Nicolette What did I miss?
It's all good but this isn't 1981 with joel Meyerowitz. Get a damn digital already.
this is more fun lol
it actually pushes you to be more creative and focused cuz u never know what the take looks like until u develop it lol
Have you ever shot film?
