- The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was released in 2018 with a theoretical top speed of 168 mph. In a previous test performed at the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds, the Demon was found to have a much higher top speed of 203 mph. After performing recent tests we found that the Dodge Demon with the optional Demon Crate installed was capable of doing much more!
The Dodge Demon was manufactured initially by Dodge to be the quickest street legal car ever with a 0-30 mph time of 1 second and a 1/4 mile time of 9.65 seconds. After many tests with this car though, we have found it to be much more than just a 1/4 mile dragster. Its power was shown all the way through the 2.7 mile traps and beyond! Also something to note was how stable the Demon was at such a high rate of speed.

All you'd have to do is put the blower on the charger as that's one of the only really reasons it does 840 hp

I mean, they said the hellcat Redeye would do a 10.95 1/4 mile, and the first thing when someone gets there hands on one, they take it bone stock to a strip, stock tires even, and run a 10 and a half. If you’re like me though you already knew it was going to be faster, but I swear it’s like they underestimate their own cars

That actually was FASTER than a P1 in your test. My god that Demon is fast!!
The P1 is electronically limited to 217, and the speed really struggles past 195 with it. McLaren claims it could pull 240+ without the limiter.

It meets the definition. These cars aren't gutted out, they have power everthing, they are comfortable, they ride good, they have tons of room for luggage. *shrugs*
@@IhateRUclips The cabin is loud, noisy and has basically no technology. The suspension is incredibly rough and the interior is made out of cheap quality plastics. A real GT/Super GT would be a Bentley Continental GT or BMW M8 Competition.

I've owned one since 2011, as of this typing it's sitting at 68k hard miles (approx 10 full sets of tires) I put the blower on at 42k miles.
It is none of the things you say it is.... And like I said mine is a 2011. In 2015 they redid the interior and made it even better (though I like my interior just fine) and added even more amenities.
What's it lacking? Power everything... Valved exhaust, multi mode dampening, lane departure assist, adaptive cruise, auto lights, Heated Steering Wheel, Cooled/Heated seats etc etc etc..
I have a 17 AMG sitting beside it in the garage and yes the interior "looks" more upscale in the AMG but that's not what the Challenger was ever meant to be. And keeping interior design close to the original roots has absolutely F all to do with it being a GT Car. Are there more expensive GT cars? *Obviously* but that doesn't change the *fact* that it *is* a GT car.
That's one fast car. Even the breaking is impressive.

I was driving on the highway with a truck and trailer and some crazy guy passed me going at least 180 in the same car with aftermarket parts and slicks. He almost hit me and the car next to me and downshifted and took off and scared the living shit out of me. Right after he passed here came the cop and by the time the cop was there the SRT was gone. This is one of the scariest and fastest cars ever made. I’ll never forget that.
oh and yeah, it pulls from 150 to 180 like most cars can't from 0-35..... unbelievable power, gears and axle.
The 1970 white Dodge Challenger has always been my favorite car like the one off of vanishing point the demon is right there with it. It is by far coolest car made since the old Challenger
Too much power for the street! My 2013 R/T with 5.7L Hemi, 6 speed manual, and 3.73 limited slip rearend, is white, in honor of Kowalski's car, is fun to drive and has quite enough power to get into way more trouble than I want, and can get 26-27 mpg while cruising at 70, too!

I can't imagine how high the insurance premium's will be on a Hellcat. I'm well beyond the days of caring to engage in state or local "revenue enhancement" and escalating insurance costs. I'm quite happy with the R/T and memories of the "old days"!

OMG I think that's the fastest production car I have seen. I clocked approx. 210 MPH that's just insane I never knew about this car until Live PD said they were outrun by a Hellcat just waved at it as it drove away Hahahahaha

Plum_Crazy 1992 You heard of something like the SSC Ultimate Aero? That’s a true hypercar that is way faster than this at 257mph. Or the Hennessey Venom GT? Maybe you don’t classify a beefed up Lotus to be a hypercar. Or a Saleen S7? Few consider it a hypercar even though it is. All 3 are American cars, like this one. You can’t disqualify a hyper-fast vehicle from the hypercar class just because it’s American.
Big Cod That’s what prevents most from classifying it to be a hypercar. It still weighs similar to a Bugatti, yet also retains its poorly aerodynamic design. It may have big tires, but most often drag radials, without much tread but still mediocre around turns as radials are built for straight-line drag racing, which this car is built for.

Smaller tires? Stock Demon tires are not speed rated for 200+ mph, hence, the non stock rubber.

No changed the tune and tires bc the tune restricts the car to around 170 bc of the stock tires
@@matthewschaefer2678 its not restricted. Only when it comes from the factory. The crate pcm unlocked everything. Only the tires needed to be changed.
