After posting a bunch of videos from Russia, it's time for a flash back to my time in Mexico earlier this year. Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to publish the remaining episodes that I filmed over there.
In todays video I am shooting Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed two stops to 1600. And like in almost all film episodes from Mexico, I used my Leica M6 with a 35mm Voigtländer f/1.7 Ultron.
See you soon in the next one!

I think you're one of the most gifted street photographers here on RUclips. I liked every single frame you took on that roll!
Thank you Vincent!
Wow, you got some fantastic shots on this roll, great day! The content from Oaxaca was my favourite of yours from the Mexico trip :-)
Thanks Hashem! Definitely a place you should put on your list! :)
As usual, a great presentation. RS Canada
Nice session, some good pics. Also the lab does a good Job 👍
as always, great video, beautiful photos! Thank you!
Midweek surprise, totally love it.
Thanks for sharing.
Pictures 1 and 2 are fantastic 👏👏👏
Excellent- can't wait to try pushing two stops with my soon to be delivered M-A....... I always have to decide- walk on shady side of street- walk on sunny side- then remember my settings- with my digital- using auto ISO is a great help- still need to be aware of f stop...... with film- even harder- but I love your settings- 1/1000 and push ISO to 1600...... then all I have to remember- is 5.6 or f11 depending on light... easy..... I will try it out....... cheers
Nice and relaxing episode :) i liked the one with the mother and child where she holds his head the best. Liked the emotion in that one. Seemed like a lovely place to shoot just as you said.
/Martin the swede.
wow whatching this from the prison island Australia, soo jealous right now.
Nice to see TriX pushed to ISO1600 in such bright sunlight. I like that the people do not seem to notice you at all.
Thank you for each of your videos, I also try to take some pictures from time to time and the street is a good attraction. I tried it once and it's a great adventure.... :)
This video feels like a blast from the past. It's been - what - 6 months since you left Mexico? Great to see additional content from your time there. I'd never thought about shooting Tri-X @ 1600 during broad daylight before, but you show how well it works. I can hardly believe I used to wax lyrical about Kodachrome 25, Fuji Velvia and Ilford FP4 back in the day. Seems like my starting point since I picked up my M6 this year is ISO 400 but I quickly run out of light vs with auto ISO on my Q2M and M10-P. BTW, I love pic #2, with #4 as my runner up.
Some nice shots. The first one gave me a good laugh! :)
Suggestion: Maybe when there is already music playing in the streets you could fade out your background music?
You should try La Laguna in Tenerife, Canary Island, looks pretty similar!!
Nice video as always robin! Thanks
Finally I'm the first one to post a comment! Congrats on the photos Robin! They look great as always
Try to "pull" a Kodak T-MAX 400 to ISO 200, expose it as a ISO 200, develope it in a thin solution of Kodak T-MAX devoloper very gently with max 2 agitations for each 30 seconds in 11 minutes (I do not remember how thin the solution was, you have to experiment). It gives both good contrast and fine details in highlights and shadows with very pleasing grey tones.
Hey Robin, do you sometimes shoot street photography surexposent the trix 400 ?
Great images!
Any special reason you pushed the film to 1600 on an already nice sunny day?
For the look. It’s contrasty when you push it.
Doofe Frage, aber warum fotografiert man bei strahlendem Sonnenschein mit 1600 ASA? Ich ärgere mich schon bei meinem Standard-200erter Film darüber, dass ich immer bis f11-16 abblenden muss. Lg aus good old Ostria, Stephan
Nice!
good vid, just curious: why don't you develop by yourself?
Tri-X is one easy film to develop at home... I enjoy this process a lot too and for me is part of the whole experiance...
nothing like pulling the developed film from the spool and have a first glimpse on the negatives...
Why push in broad day light? It doesn’t make much sense to me..
What developer did they use ?
Maybe for this circumstances it would be better to push one stop (with aperture at f/8 no need to push).
I think that with COVID-19 28mm is more difficult to shoot.Maybe for this period 35mm is more practical.
Nothing beats b@w film (especially tri-x).Digital (for me) worth only for night photography and general for low light photography.
5:13 aguante Messi!
