Thank you so much for the great video Robin. You inspire me to go out and motivates me to make photographs. The photograph with the happy couple I like the most. Thank you so much for shearing you few on the photography. Stay healthy. 👍😊👌
A really good night of shooting. My favorite however was 5:17 which didn't make the cut at the end. Like the fact that while it is very dark the few places with light are enough to carve out a strong portrait, with just enough background to lend some context. Reminds me of Frank Miller's Sin City.
Love the flexibility of tri-x. Great roll. Both the guy and the dog in a corner and the couple are stunning. The quinceañeras are wonderful and very Guadalajara. Bravo Robin.
The couple framed together under the lights. Phenomenal. I appreciate your patience when taking the image. Thanks for the tip, EI800, lens aperture wide open and pushed +2 at the lab. Awesome.
Great episode, my favourites from this episode are the one of the girls on the dresses, the one with the couple that you showed at the end and the one with the guys on the bikes.
awesome shoots with the Kodak Tri-X. I think now I know what to do with the three rolls I got in the fridge :-). They've been sitting there way too long. There are also some really nice shoots with triX400@1600 in your xTRA WIDE II zine. But this episode shoot at night really helped to understand the film. You allways have to select photos, but I was surprised the guys with the mountain bikes didn't make it in your prints selection. Thanks for sharing really nice shoots, also apreciate your comments on metering.
Great images, the girls at 3:25 is my favourite ... and ancient ritual contrasted by the girl with the cell phone and the pandemic masks, beautiful. Intrigued as to how you worked out what shutter speed to use given you weren't metering
Great shots. Eugene Smith used to push TriX really far, like some of the shots from his Jazz Loft Project we’re pushed to 3200. The famous photo of Thelonious Monk was 3200 iirc. Thanks Robin, really helpful to see someone actually shooting on the street. Very valuable to see skilled people actually do their craft.
Great shots Robin. I love the shot of the couple next to the street lamp. I shoot tri-x at 1600 or 3200 and stand develop it. You can’t tell it wasn’t shot at 400, no extra grain really, full highlight and shadow details.
Before I finish the video I love how you got the shot with the dog ...I heard that whistle to get it to turn around lol I guilty of that myself...did it the other day with a cat lol
Nice! I am guessing that is has to do with price and availability, but have you considered delta 3200 or t-max 3200 for the night shots? Have a nice week!
The first one is definitely my favourite, even if the others are also pretty cool. I am heading down to Mexico, Playa del Carmen on Monday. I have Tri-X plus some other rolls (mix of colours and b&w). I do not have a Leica M6 though... I am bringing with me the mighty Nikon F4 :D If you are heading to Playa/Tulum in the next couple of weeks, let me know :)
Hi oh man Tri X is one of my favorite I do have a question, Because I am moving permanently to Mexico and is there a limit how many Films I can have on me through airports ? Because I do have around 70 films or more.
Almost all of these shots I would consider winners, especially the buy with his dog and the couple next to the lamppost. I might just be that I have a thing for vertical pictures...
Did you meter for 1600 then told the lap to develop at 1600? Or did you meter at 400 then told the lab to develop as if you metered at 1600. The girls in the white dress is my favorite
Like you said, too bad you can't afford, film wise, to work the scene. I find the scene with the girls with the white dresses had incredible potential. It reminded me of that famous Vivian Maier shot with the blurred woman wearing a white dress at night.
My favorite camera/film (pushed) combo! I love the guy pushing the cart photo!
Princesses or dog silhouette are my favorites, but I’d be happy with any of those prints. Thanks for sharing Robin. Cheers!
Wedding dress shot is my favourite
The shot with wedding dresses is my favourite.
You are the_real_sir_of_street_photography!
Stunning images as usual, Robin. Magnificent shot of the old guy sat down. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much for the great video Robin. You inspire me to go out and motivates me to make photographs. The photograph with the happy couple I like the most. Thank you so much for shearing you few on the photography. Stay healthy. 👍😊👌
The quinciañeras shot is incredible, 100% Guadalajara's downtown vibe!
dont try this in the garment district at night lol
Fantastic photos! I really enjoy seeing your night photography.
Wow. Such beautiful results!!!
Some great shots there, like them all. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely love the shots and the look of Tri-X. The ones with the girls in the dresses turned out amazing!
Thanks guy, for theses good street photography vibes !
The shot of the bride is an absolute stunner. I’d be very happy with that.
Alter Schwede! Die Bilder sind dieses Mal extrem gut! Gucke deine Videos ja schon länger und hab nie was kommentiert aber hier tut das Not! Super!
Love the flexibility of tri-x. Great roll. Both the guy and the dog in a corner and the couple are stunning. The quinceañeras are wonderful and very Guadalajara. Bravo Robin.
Hello Robin, i like the photo with the white dresses. Good job, thanks for your tips !
The couple framed together under the lights. Phenomenal. I appreciate your patience when taking the image. Thanks for the tip, EI800, lens aperture wide open and pushed +2 at the lab. Awesome.
Love the picture from the wedding
Amazing prints you have inspired to push my film tomorrow night in the city. Love from Melbourne
The shot at 3:11 is very nice. Really enjoy the Mexico episodes, keep up the good work!

Ya got some pretty noice photos from this session. Inspirin' me to get back out there.
the quinceanera girls is definitely my favorite of this batch. hard to choose though because you managed several solid contenders for best shot.
There’s a lot of keepers in this video! Loving how quickly you get around and tri x pushed looks great! Definitely inspired me to go night shooting.
Some great shots in this episode and wonderful results in those lighting conditions!
Amazing results! Love the photo of the women in the white dresses 👌
The one with motion blur🔥
Wow, richtig super gemacht!! Du hast den Blick für die Situation, hat man oder halt nicht 😉 Respekt, wirklich toll... 👍🏻
This last 2 prints are both great shots. The last one is spot on! Love the video !
So many good photos!

Yeah I was wondering about that too, Ian. Guess it just comes down to practice but maybe Sir Robin could shed some light on this??
Amazing results ! My favorite photo is the one with the girls wearing the white dresses 🙂
Bello from Italy. Trix is really a nice film. Very Michele versatile. Good series in this video. Cheers
so many keepers on this episode, loved it.
Sehr schön! Und dein Favorit ist wirklich genial!
Excellent work man
Hello from New Zealand. Loving the look of Tri X! My favourite image is the one of the dresses.
Great video! Is difficult for me to pic favorite photo😁. They are all great
Awesome video, as always!! Now you have made me want to try some TriX and push it one or two spots!! Thanks for the good content!!
I love Tri-X 400 👌
Nice episode! The contrast looks beautiful. I would like to see you do one with your xpan again.
The photos are brilliant as always.
The gopro vid looks good too, did u hav to grade it alot?
My gopro vids look really bad when shot at night
Great shots Robin. I love the shot of the couple next to the street lamp.
I shoot tri-x at 1600 or 3200 and stand develop it. You can’t tell it wasn’t shot at 400, no extra grain really, full highlight and shadow details.
Very well done! ezine love to see samples..
Night moves 👏🏻
my favorite was the wedding photo
I like the shot with the dog at the pole.
Great video
the film burns overlay would be nice in b&w also, to go with the photos
Before I finish the video I love how you got the shot with the dog ...I heard that whistle to get it to turn around lol I guilty of that myself...did it the other day with a cat lol
Wow, most of the shots turned out really amazing. Makes me wanna shoot bw at night, will try it with ilford HP5.
Amazing results. Beats most digital output, I would say as the tones are so much more pleasing. What lens are you using here btw? Thanks
Nice!
I am guessing that is has to do with price and availability, but have you considered delta 3200 or t-max 3200 for the night shots?
Have a nice week!

If you are heading to Playa/Tulum in the next couple of weeks, let me know :)
nice shots. btw, how come you don't post on instagram anymore?
Hi oh man Tri X is one of my favorite I do have a question, Because I am moving permanently to Mexico and is there a limit how many Films I can have on me through airports ? Because I do have around 70 films or more.
Do you whistle at the doggo? :D 01:58
that skateboarder... 😍
Awesome I'd love the picture with the married woman !
I like the one with the sitting guy that seems to be using his mobile best, I think. I wouldn't mind winning it :)
Geniale Bilder!
nice look!!!
I really like the skateboarder🙌
I enjoyed the video! Why shot at 800 asa and have the lab process at 1600? Why not just shot at 1600?
So do you set the M6 to 400 or 1600 when pushing TX ?
I like the one with the dog, the guy looks cool, in nonchalant pose, something like Cowboy Bebop :).
Almost all of these shots I would consider winners, especially the buy with his dog and the couple next to the lamppost. I might just be that I have a thing for vertical pictures...
Have You Shot With Something Like The Canon Eos 3 Or Canon Eos 1N ????
Can you get your hands on one and do us a video about it ….
Its amazing what you can do with film at night and yet people are scraming for yet more iso performance on digital
Ah funny I did it last week! Trix400 Pushing to 1600 and It was great!
How was the atmosphere in Mexico? is it very dangerous to go out to do street photography?
Nothing Like The Kodak Tri-X Specifically When Pushing Into 1600..
average speed at 3:40 ? such poor light and great result !
What do you rate the film and how many stops push ? I mean some people rate less than 1600 and still push 2 stops...
Push two stops and not rating it at all, since I wasn't metering.
😍
My fave is the guy with the dog, and I think the quinceañeras with the dresses (but maybe they are too old to be quinceañeras)
buhhh das letzte Bild ist der hammer!!! würde das letzte wählen
viele grüße
The film photos look way better than digital one's.
I am probably not as brave as you to shoot at night
" Brides "
Excellent shot on TriX push 1600 ASA and Love the girls on the chuck , absolute perfect Instagram: @gl_pix
