2:07 / crazy how there were only three people right there, wearing the colours of the buildings behind them, exactly in the same order. Great images, and a charming town!
@@RS-Amsterdam :D. I mean, the colours are not an exact match but they come scary close! It’s also the combination of timing and raw luck that surprised me.
The photos turn out great the color ektar was a great election imo. Im from león 30 minutes to GTO thanks for takin pictures on My state. I would like to see a street portraits vídeo 👀
Thanks for doing this video. I realize that I don’t really like the the look of Ektar overexposed. The colors of the buildings seemed so faded. Lacking the richness that I see in the video. I know you can’t duplicate the colors of the video, but I think I want to try a roll a box speed and see just how rich the reds and blues can be.
This brings back some of my favourite memories of Mexico. I recognise so many of the lanes you explored. Ektar absolutely does the colours justice. Very well done Robin!
I think it is my favourite negative film too. Curiously when I shot it in the 90s, on its introduction, I didn’t like it at all. But the current version is great, especially if the ambient light is not too contrasty.
Nice video. I also like the cosy town - haven't got where it is, but wished to be there, too. What puzzles me is why you haven't chosen 28mm during daylight? The streets are quite narrow.
What are the odds. I’am from Guanajuato and am going again in December to see family. Wanted to see what ektar looked like with all the colorful houses.
Ektar is probably one of my favorite C41 films, I like how it renders skin tones much better than Portra, my second favorite is actually Kodak Gold 200
I wish where I live would be as sunny as Mexico, becuase Ektar always looks so good. The price is also a bit of a thing, but at least it's not portra. I prefer Ektar over that anyways
Hola. Realmente muchas gracias por tus vídeos, me han enseñado bastante. ¿Disparar este carrete a ISO 25 es para evitar el color rojizo en los rostros?
Very nice, I really like the look of Ektar 2 stops over exposed. It does look like Ultramax, except you can shoot Ultramax at one stop over and still get very nice vibrant colors. Also thank you for not shooting Black and White again with the Leica monochrome.
The thing is, there really is no such thing as the “colors of Ektar” or any other color negative film. It’s all interpretation, either of the darkroom printing operator, or the scanning software, or of your choices with the scan in post processing software. I do my own scanning and processing, and I can make Portra look like Ektar, or vice versa. Only positive films have a defined color palette and contrast/saturation profile.
Exactly this. I edit my images slightly. I thinks that’s the great advantage of shooting film, it really doesn’t take much editing to push certain characteristics of the film. The ever so popular pastel portra look is easily archivable with Overexposed Gold200 with slight editing.
I agree, I hate seeing all the film elitists swearing by Portra 400. There is plenty of options out there, and yes absolutely it’s up to the persons ability to determine the output of their film stock
love the way he takes photo of strangers right in their face without asking or telling them and just walks off like it's nothing. lol😂
Definitely my favourite colour negative film once Agfa discontinued Ultracolor 100.

You smarty pants hehehe
Well noticed !

@@csaba5415 yeah great, you have good eye for detail
Wow, Guanajuato is really a street photographers dream town - so beautiful colorful! Great pictures!
2 videos in a week! You’re spoiling us Robin. Thanks for another lovely video.
Kodak Ektar and Gold are my favorites in such sunny conditions. Amazing content.
the Ektar 100 is also one of my favorite films, specifically in sunny daylight.
nice pov
Ektar 100 can't be beaten. It is the best from Kodak. I always want to emulate it in digital too, it never goes too well.
Nice video and a great town! Love the colors!
Ein wirklich super Episode mit wunderschönen Bilder dabei! Danke für diese Einladung zum reise.

Nowhere in the UK is ever going to look as good as this for photos.
What an amazing looking place 🙂 great shots and video Robin.
The Color grading on the video is very nice, the colours give us a great preview of the film !
i just brought two rolls of Ektar and your video was very useful to give me some inside about it. I´ll try it as soon them arrive. Thank you!

Have you ever tried Fuji Velvia 50? That stuff is really great for sunny colourful places.
Like you I am a fan of B/W but this deserves color.
Thanks for sharing
Good memories there
A very nice colorful episode.

I suspected you were using a low iso ... brilliant!
love the vibe of Mexico, nice one bro
btw the cleaner one is my fav

Can you tell me how you developed ektar as you have rated it 25. Did you pull 2 stops or you developed normally?
I love the colors of the Ektar

Welche Variante des Ultron hast Du? Ich kann die m39-Version bekommen. Allerdings fotografiere ich ohnehin mit einer Canon 7.
How was the film developed? At box iso or iso 25?
Where is your neck strap from? Thanks!

Did you ever consider a small AF-Camera?

Slide film also depends on how its exposed. But definitely cheap film cant be made to look like Ektar.
