The original Rise Up hit 40m views on YT, Morissette 1st cover passed it at 120m views, it got deleted, Original went to 60m views and Morissette 2nd upload hit 140m views and it was also taken down. Her cover of Rise Up has been downloaded by her fans dozens of times every time it got taken down. We estimate that her total view of the cover ( if it wasn't deleted/removed by YT) would have been at 300-400m views by now, well beyond the original.

I think that the word you're looking for to describe Morissette's singing is "empathetic", she can connect to and feel the emotion of the song, and convey that emotion to the listener.
